From check-in to check-out the host was very responsive! This was an excellent property inside and out for our scalloping trip with easy access to the ocean and great boat parking. Close proximity to places like The Freezer or The Monkey Bar. Great outdoor living space and fire pit area were a huge plus as well. We will be booking another trip soon!
We really enjoyed our stay in Homosassa and the property is ideally located.
Beautiful peaceful spot by the river, the house is very comfortable and feel like home, we would definitely stay again.,
The property was great. It was quiet and close to lots of eating places and Homosassa Springs. We loved this place and would definitely go back. With the exception of the "clutter" on the porch and the lack of a host's book, I would rate the property as a 5.
Beautiful home that was clean and comfortable. Host was easy to reach and helpful with all our questions. We loved the location and enjoyed Homassasa! We will be back again!
We had such a great time at this lovely property! We traveled with another couple. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us. The property is spacious and clean and has everything you need (including an industrial ice machine!) to make a nice relaxing holiday. Once you leave the canal you're right in the thick of restaurants and not far to head out to the gulf or to the springs. Communication with the owner was quick and easy. Speaking of the owner, he afforded us a late checkout and suggested enjoying a Sunday fun day, which we took full advantage of! I would absolutely recommend this property and will be booking again myself next summer. A++++
This is a wonderful property. It is beautiful and well-kept and has everything you need. The owner is a great communicator and gives excellent information on exactly how things should go. Everything went according to plan. We had a wonderful time.
Convenient location on the river and a short ride out to the Gulf of Mexico on the boat. Tastefully decorated with all the amenities needed when staying inside or enjoying the view outside on the paver patio. Quiet neighborhood. Beds were comfortable. Everything looked clean and fresh. House is well-maintained and has relaxing vibe. We hope to visit again soon.
We were guests at this home a few years back and were extremely satisfied then. Weâve been trying to get back to this home, which is by and far the best rental home weâve stayed at in Homosassa. Weâve been renting homes for scalloping season for the last 5 years. The improvements that were made since our last stay, made the home even better. The covered outdoor space on the paver deck outback is where we spent the majority of our time. Canât wait till next year.
This was a last minute booking. Very few homes available. And we are used to renting luxury homes in other areas, so our expectations where quite low. However the home was as advertised. Clean. Everything you need. Well stocked. And great communication from owners. Ice machine being a nice touch. Only complaint/recommendation to owner would be to reduce amount of items in kitchen. Drawers etc felt crowded and stuffed making it actually hard to find items looking for. But Iâd definitely recommend this home for your scalloping trips and was pleasantly surprised.
This property is perfect for a scalloping weekend! For any big boat owners, the canal to the house is all deep water and there is plenty of room on the dock. We tied up my 31' CC without any issue.
The house was great for a small group. It sleeps 8 comfortably. The outdoor patio area is awesome. The covered section next to the boat lift has two big fans that really move a lot of air to effectively keep bugs/mosquitoes away. By far one of the best features was the ice machine. It makes plenty of ice to keep multiple coolers full all day and then some.
The screened-in porch is close to the kitchen which made it very easy for having meals outside.
The property owner was very responsive and a pleasure to work with. I plan on booking this same property next year for weekend during the 2021 season!
Thank you David Bivens! 5 out of 5 across the board.
This was our first time to Homosassa and enjoyed the home and surroundings. We kayaked to see manatees and Monkey Island which was fun and a good workout. Rented a pontoon one day and rode out to the gulf, saw a really cool dolphin pod playing nearby. Homosassa is a laid back village-like area - there were a few bar/tiki places we visited, and had some good seafood from Shelly's. The house was comfortable for us and we mostly cooked in. The screened-in porch was the best part and we ate most meals there except a couple of days when it cooled down. Having coffee or hanging out and looking at the canal and reading a book was great. The outdoor area is roomy and we played corn-hole and made a couple of fires. The gas grill needs some repair, and it ran out of gas after 15 minutes but that is our only complaint. We could have gotten a replacement tank but the flavorizer bars were disintegrating and one of the griddles was held up by a brick. Overall it was a fun week. We drove down to Tampa a couple of times which took about an hour to the airport and a bit more to St. Pete. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, plates, glasses, etc and a Keurig which was really easy to use.
Two words...ICE MACHINE. If you come to Homosassa to fish and scallop like we did, then this is a great house for you. We stayed with 4 couples and brought two 24' boats. The dock was plenty long enough and had mooring whips to keep the boats secure, but one suggestion would be installing permanently mounted dock rub rails on the pilings. There is a hose out back with enough length to reach the boats. The creek is deep water so we never had a problem getting the boats back to dock. It is quiet with little traffic. There is plenty of parking for trucks and trailers in what appears to be an empty, wooded lot next door. The road is tight to get down, but it does drive through and out to another road, so you don't have to try to turn around. The pavered area out back was great for cleaning scallops (we met the neighbors and used their filet table for cleaning the fish) and staging all the boating supplies. We could have used a power outlet out back (charging boat batteries, fans, radio, etc), but it looks like there is plans for a covered area on one half of the pavers that had conduit for power. The house had a brand new grill and extra LP gas tanks for grilling. Plenty of extra buckets and chairs for cleaning scallops. Extra floats for the springs, dive flag, snorkel, fins, etc. We had our own supplies but forgot one minor thing (dive flag). The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of utensils, plates, bowls, and tupperware (we stayed in a house a few years ago that lacked these assumed essentials). The screened patio area is a little cramped but provides a nice reprieve from the mosquitoes when they get bad at dawn. We knew there were only 3 bedrooms when we rented so it wasn't a surprise when one couple slept on the air mattress. The pictures don't show it well, but one of the downstairs guest rooms has a full bed and a twin that has a trundle. If the trundle was set up it would be touching the full bed. With a bunch of kids or friends that are a little too comfortable with each other, it wouldn't be an issue. We would definitely rent again. House was clean and exactly as described with more (ICE MACHINE).
This house was the perfect set up for a fishing getaway. Lots of room inside and fabulous outdoor amenities. Just a short boat ride to several waterfront restaurants. Inshore fishing was fantastic with lots of reds and trout. Definitely booking next year.
We have a group of couples that visits Homasassa every year and wish we'd have found this home sooner! We loved everything about it! Great location, very nice/clean, beds are super comfy, the host was SO responsive, helpful & accommodating, VERY well stocked kitchen, linens, etc.
We especially love the outdoor paver/fire pit area and the boat dock. The canal was so much quieter than staying on the main river as we have done in the past. No airboats in the canal and very easy access for our boat.
We will definitely be back and also plan to bring the family!
Such a beautiful home! Three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, open living space, and a kitchen with full appliances and cookware all made the stay feel like home. The backyard had a great seating area, fire pit, and a dock large enough for our 24 foot boat. Parking was enough to hold three vehicles and our boat trailer. More importantly the owner stayed in contact with us throughout our stay; he was very responsive with any questions we had about the area. If you are looking for a great vacation getaway in a quiet neighborhood, look no further!
This home was everything the listing said it was and more. Great location. Easy to get to by car and boat. Very comfortable and clean. Quiet neighborhood. Very well stocked. Commercial ice maker a big plus. Screened in porch is very nice as is the paver outside patio. Thereâs even a tv out there. We didnât use it though. Boat dock was plenty big enough for our 24â bay boat and is equipped with water and electric. The owner is very helpful and responds to questions quickly. We would love to stay there again.
âLazy time at the river is time weâll spent.â We had a wonderful time. The house was lovely and suited all our needs. The view was priceless. We kayaked in the canal. We rented a pontoon for one day. We boated to the Gulf and the springs to see dolphins and manatees. We rented a golf cart for easy transportation and exploring the area. The people are friendly and the food is good. Planning a return trip soon.
This rental was very nice. Lots of room both inside and out. A large screened in porch and a huge patio area with part of it under a roof with ceiling fans and a TV. We saw lots of birds and was even visited by a small alligator. My husband really enjoyed using the kayaks. Perfect area for kayaking. Lots of nice restaurants nearby. The only negative thing was that the no-see-ums really bit us. So bring spray that works for those!!
My husband and I stayed here 3 nights, and it was a great location. My parents joined us for 2 of the 3 nights. We launched our 20 ft boat from the ramp that was just over a mile from the property. Nice tie ups at the dock and plenty of room! The outdoor space is lovely, the home was well stocked with everything that you could need. The inside was clean and comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet and we had no issues with parking 2 vehicles at the property, along with our boat trailer. The owner was very responsive and prompt to our questions and was very kind and helpful. We truly loved the peaceful location!
Visited the area for a birthday celebration with family. Had a great time at the local eateries, enjoyed the kayaks and manatees! The seafood was delicious! Also, got to soak up some sun and read a book on the patio which was awesome! Overall, a great weekendâŠthanks David!
