This property exceeded our expectations! Angela is an excellent host and The Courtyard is a delightful property. We enjoyed walks in the village each morning as well as accessibility to everything nearby. The cottage is warm, inviting, and beautifully decorated. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
The cottage looks exactly like the pictures. Angela was extremely helpful, responding promptly to queries and going out of her way to help us when we had difficulty parking.
Absolutely wonderful! Lovely little row house literally a couple dozen steps from the shops and harbour. Clean, stylishly appointed (loved the Anglepoise lamp). Big bathroom, comfy bed, perfect for a couples stay! Mousehole is a great little village, a much nicer vibe than St. Ives or Penzance. If youâre going drive in from Penzance along the Cliff Rd, the other approach is TIGHT. Get parked in the town lot and leave your car, take the Mousehole bus to Penzance and the Coaster to travel around the area.
One of the nicest private rentals we've ever stayed! Modern, clean, and updated but with an absolute sense of place. When I visit a unique area I want the place I sleep to reflect that but also have modern convenience. This hit all the marks. Angela was very responsive and easy to communicate with. The tub was welcome after our long hike as was the washer. Ideally located right in the village which made it easy to pop in/out. Bed wasn't great for us but none of the mattresses on this trip were. We're very spoiled in the US with our sleep number bed :-) Highly recommend staying here. We can't wait to visit this property again.
Loved the cozy cottage! Bathroom and bedroom much larger than they appear. Everything you need is there. Short walk to bus stop, deli, harbor. Many places to eat, but most close by 4 pm. The steps to bed/bath, are steep, something to keep in mind after all the hiking around town. ;) The seagulls are loud, so bring earplugs for a good nights sleep in the comfy bed. Penzance train station is a 16 min bus ride away. I walked back from Penzance after a shopping trip. It was a leisurely 1 hour and 15 minutes. You walk through Newlyn, which has many seafood shops, and of course a few Pubs.
Angela is a Gracious Hostess, who responds to you quickly, if you have any questions. Loved my time in Cornwall.
Property is in a great location in Mousehole and is adequate for two people for one week. The property was generally clean and well kept, however, the settee did have a distinct smell of dogs. Although well appointed, we felt the cottage lacked some furniture for daily practical usage such as the bedside tables were too small, there were limited units for placing items on and the bathroom lacked a unit for placing toilet bags on, etc. The biggest problem with the cottage was the lack of onsite parking. The filter on the VRBO site was set to show only properties with parking available, however this property still showed up! We booked the property based on this but it is incorrect so it meant we had to park in the Pay & Display car parks in Mousehole. Spaces are limited and overnight parking can add a significant cost to your holiday. Hopefully VRBO will resolve this issue but it would be wise to double check. Overall we did enjoy the holiday, Mousehole is a lovely harbor village and the location is great for seeing the southern part of Cornwall. The Minack Theatre, Porthcurno Museum and Cove, Newlyn and Penzance were all highlights of a good week.
A beautiful Cute Cottage, but checked out after one sleepless night :(
The cottage is delightful. It is beautifully renovated and the finish in each room is very high quality. However the bed is such a disappointment. The mattress and bedding are lovely - again very high quality..but the bed base is similar to the one I bought for my 8 year old daughter from Argos. It is thin, white washed pine, and it creaks and squeaks with EVERY move you make! Even adjusting your pillow. I spent the night on the sofa, listening to the squeaky bed through the ceiling above me. Apart from putting the mattress onto the floor, there was no way to improve the situation, so sadly, we checked out first thing the next morning and stayed in a hotel that night. The owner was very responsive when we messaged to say we had checked out because of the bed, but said she would have preferred us to let her come over and see if she could have rectified the situation, which is fair enough, but unless she was going to replace the bed base, there was nothing that would have persuaded us to risk another night with no sleep I'm afraid.
We booked a relaxing weekend away and wasnt disappointed, 5 stars for everything and a fantastic host and location. The house was beautiful and Angela even left a welcoming gift. Highly recommended and we would use again.
Everything was lovely, perfect location, Angelaâs recommendations for F&B were great! My only suggestion would be to perhaps add a âcocktail/coffeeâ table in the lounge area for those of us who need somewhere to put all our âstuffâ. đ
This was perfect for our 6 nights in Mousehole and it was just what we expected from the listing. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed for cooking breakfasts and dinners. It was a short walk to the harbour and the bus stop.
We had a lovely stay celebrating the New Year. The cottage was of a high standard and very comfortable. Ideal location for Mousehole harbour and local coastal walks.
Great communication with Angela from the off!
The cottage is immaculately presented and is only a short walk to all of the action in the centre of Mousehole.
Thanks for our card and gift you left us, we had the best stay at your cottage :)
Beautiful centrally located cottage. Sunny aspect, sun at the front in the morning and in the shared courtyard to the rear
Extremely well equipped, luxury towels and bedding
Plenty of storage space, extremely comfortable bed and a wonderful huge bathroom with double shower and a deep claw foot bath
We cooked in quite a few nights and we had everything that we needed
We had 2 meals in Mousehole. One at The Ship Inn with friends who were also staying in the area. This was very reasonable, great service and great food. We also had a meal at 2ForeSt, ate outside, again, great service and the food was amazing.
We had fresh croissants and cakes from the deli a couple of minutes away
Parking was ok as we managed to get spaces in the Quayside car park which is ÂŁ3 for 24 hours
Angela was extremely helpful prior to our arrival and the cottage was spotless
A lovely week exploring this glorious area and were quite lucky with the weather
Beautiful house that provided the perfect escape for a few days. Loved Mousehole and Angela was very helpful. We loved it so much we extended the stay whilst we were there!
Pleasant enough staycation in Mousehole, accommodation was very clean, well-presented, and had everything we needed.

I moved to the beautiful village of Mousehole having lived in London for 30 years, working at the BBC for most of my career. My dream was to come to Cornwall to own a holiday cottage and create a luxurious and welcoming haven for guests - and so we bought The Courtyard. The cottage required total renovation and it took almost a year to get everything perfect. Today it still has all the charm and character of a 150-year-old cottage but with all the modern conveniences and luxury youâd expect in a boutique hotel. I hope Iâve created a relaxing and indulgent haven for two and the perfect base to explore this wonderful part of the world. I live locally so if there is anything you need before or during your stay Iâm only too happy to help. I really hope you love The Courtyard and hope I can welcome you to Mousehole soon.
