Perfect for the 2 of us. We used the grill to cook 2 of our meals and enjoyed one afternoon taking in the surroundings. Not far from Dover and other places in SW England. The hosts were outstanding.work with

very peaceful hidden location but a minute from village shop. Quaint cottage, well equipped kitchen, spacious bathroom and living area. large outdoor space and the rescue battery chicken are an entertainment. Friendly and helpful host.
Cottage had everything that you need and more, traditional furnishings that are in keeping with cottage. Very nice host Mark who came to feed the chickens. Out of the way but close to everything. Lots of lovely walks and very close to coast. Would definitely stay here again.

We spent a relaxing week at Dolly Plum Cottage. Our dog enjoyed running around in the large garden. Mark was a warm host and greeted us with ice cream. We were also able to try the house's own honey. The house is beautifully situated for excursions and not far from the sea.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Had everything we need, the owners Mark and Gill even left us snacks as we unpack. My kids felt sad upon leaving as they also enjoyed feeding the chicken. Thank you so much!! Had a really great time! We definitely book again!
The cottage is delightful, its cosy and comfortable. The stairs are very steep up to the bedroom and so, given my age, I decided to sleep downstairs and was very happy with that arrangement. It is very well equipped, I had a wonderful five nights and would definitely stay again. The dogs loved the grassy area in the back for a run and Mark was a thoughtful, kind host, very responsive and helpful during my stay.
Beautiful cottage that has everything youâre looking for
We had a wonderful couple of days in the cottage. Itâs super spacious, very neat and equipped with everything you need. There are lots of animals in the neighbourhood which our child enjoyed greatly. Mark was a wonderful host and very responsive. We especially enjoyed the chickens and the garden.
We wanted a quiet place over Christmas and this venue is ideal for those who peace and quiet.
The bathroom and kitchen are both excellent is size. The kitchen has everything you need. We didn't play any of the well-stocked games as we went out to places one of us was brought up in, then visited family. The chickens are wonderful.
so clean every thing you need great garden to sit if u want a barbecue the owners mark are very friendly and his wife makes some great marrow chutney a lovely welcome pack when u get there well mark and his wife ten out of ten we will be back thanks brian sheila and terry
Mark and Gill have a lovely cottage full of character. Mark was welcoming and showed us around, he was mindful that we had a toddler with us and explained how to use the facilities. He was very friendly and helpful. The cottage is amazing within short distance to Safari, beach and nearby towns. There is place to play that my toddler loved to kick his football around. We had an amazing break thank you
We stayed for three nights and only left the cottage for walks. It had all we needed for a bolt hole and time out. Stairs a bit steep, but manageable. Will likely return on a regular basis. Thank you for the welcome pack.
It was a home away from home. All that we needed and more was there. You could see the thoughtfulness in every aspect of the cottage. Our children (age 5 and 7) enjoyed the outdoors, they found family games and children's DVD's in the cupboard. Close proximity to Port Lymph Safari (10 mins drive), so it was just ideal for us. Excellent stay for a family of four. The host (Gill and Mark) were so kind and friendly, even left milk, tea, snacks and orange juice for us in case we didnt get the chance to do so.
It was our second time round staying at the Dolly Plum cottage. We came because we sought a place to wind down, and for the scenery and surroundings.
Ashford and Folkstone are a little drive away, through green hills and pastures.
Mark, the owner, is a very kind and friendly person, generous in sharing produce from his own hobbies and businesses.
We will definitely be coming back again next summer.
A little extra fun: There is an Alexa device present at the cottage. My spouse and I enjoyed battling for the command of music.
Although we enjoyed our stay, the cottage wasn't thorougly cleaned, wich was disappointing. There were many dustnets aobove the bed and in many corners, behind the TV, etc...
The sleeping area under the roof is rather low, you can't stand up there, so it is difficult to clean, but anyway, it isn't nice when you arrive in a dusty sleeping place.
The kitchen was very well occupied, but the extractor hood vettid.
In the bathroom is no wall outlet.
The livingroom is large and comfortable, but the seats are in need to renewal.
The cottage is OK after a good cleaning
Luxus darf man keinen erwarten.
Mark & Gill moved to Kent in 2010 following many years serving abroad in the armed forces. Since our 3 sons left home we have been able to indulge in our interest to have a small plot of land where we could try to live "The Good Life". We have had a wide variety of pets and currently have 3 dogs and welcome all house trained pets with well behaved owners!
Just minutes from the main road and good access to the motorway yet in a secluded country position with its own large private garden. We fell in love with the cottage when we were looking for a small plot of land to grow our own produce and keep some chickens.
Dolly Plum Cottage is like a tardis â at first sight it appears quite small, but the open beamed ceiling and windows to 3 sides of the lounge makes it feel a lot larger on the inside although retaining its character â the mezzanine bedroom definitely gives it a romantic feel!
