Charmant studio Cottage sur une rue calme

Éloignez-vous de votre vie trépidante. Bienvenue dans nos maisons au bord de la mer. L'odeur de l'océan. La fissure d'une pince de homard. Remuer le café pendant que vos yeux dansent sur le soleil qui se lève sur le clocher de l'ancienne église. La vie en Nouvelle-Angleterre à son meilleur.

Peut-être que vous passerez la journée dans les nombreuses galeries d'art pittoresques. Vous dégusterez peut-être les meilleurs fruits de mer frais de la côte est. Ou passez simplement la journée à regarder l'océan. Nous ne pouvons pas penser à une meilleure façon de passer des vacances.

Bien sûr, nous sommes partiaux. Notre famille a une maison à Rockport depuis près de 400 ans. Chacun des trois chalets a été construit par nos ancêtres qui étaient des pêcheurs locaux, et a été une base pour notre famille au fil des saisons et des années. Laissez-nous ouvrir nos maisons et vous accueillir pour passer du temps dans cette petite tranche de perfection.

Nous aimons les animaux, nous souhaitons donc la bienvenue à votre animal à fourrure et, comme le parc pour chiens / personnes se trouve juste en bas de la rue, votre animal de compagnie peut se promener à quelques pas.

Great spot

The house was perfect for my needs, I was working for most of my stay so the quiet and scenic location were a great fit. You could take walks throughout Rockport which I did a lot.

Coastal Stay

This was the perfect stay for my spouse and I with our pets! We were so close to the beach and the front patio was amazing! We grilled most nights and the kitchen was well stocked. Louise was awesome to work with and a very great communicator.

My Favorite Spot!

I love the Sound House; its location, charm and cosy feeling. It is so well appointed and feels like a home away from home. The location is ideal for walking Rockport and going to Front Beach. I will always come back here when I can!

Lovely Rockport Studio Cottage

This was our second stay at the lovely Sound House. While it is small, it is thoughtfully equipped and is very comfortable. It is pet friendly and is in an excellent location for walking a dog at the nearby park. The cottage was spotless, and Louise was easy to communicate with. We are already planning a return visit.

Hidden Gem!

We had a fantastic time here...stayed in Rockport while in Gloucester for a month on business. Small space but perfectly appointed- charming is an understatement. The view of the harbor from the front window is incredible. The town is adorable. Lots of fun shops and art galleries in walking distance. If you are looking for a peaceful respite, or a shabby-chic romantic getaway, you won't be disappointed! We left feeling completely recharged.

Lovely Comfortable Cottage

The Sound House exceeded our expectations—clean, comfortable, and so very cute. Our host generously provided ample breakfast and snack items. Logs were laid in the fireplace which we lit and enjoyed one cool rainy day. We really felt that our hosts tried to anticipate any need that we may have and provide for it. In addition, we loved that the cottage was on a very quiet lane just steps from the Mill Pond Park—a great place to walk our dog. We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks visit!

Perfect Getaway!

I spent 2 weeks at The Sound House and loved every minute! The cottage is clean and well appointed with anything you may need. The location next to Mill Park can’t be beat! We enjoyed many sunrise and sunset walks through the park and along the beach. When I arrived there was a lovely note welcoming me and goodies to get me started. Louise and Karl are excellent hosts! Highly recommend for anyone looking to spend some time in the quaint town of Rockport in this ideal location.

Best of New England

This is THE OPPORTUNITY to enjoy the history, charm, original art,outstanding seafood cuisine and down home vibe of the coastal region of Massachusetts Northshore. We stayed for 2 weeks, with our 2 small dogs. Cozy, safe, peaceful, dreamlike with a meadow, stone bridges and calm Atlantic cove beach next to the art village of Rockport. Cottage was affordable, small but enough for 2 with pet friendly accommodations. Everything you need and so much more. Owners care, and communicate well. A place we want to return to again! Thank you Louise and Karl.

The Norwoods are the most thoughtful hosts. Cottage was so lovely

We loved our stay at their cottage. Enchanting, well equipped, quiet, lovely grounds and gardens and sea air. Perfect place for some real rest and relaxation.

A Special Place

This cottage is quaint, cozy, and incredibly well located. It's a three minute walk to downtown Rockport's Front Beach and just seconds down the hill to the scenic (and historic) Mill Pond. The cottage itself is adorable inside and out. Be forewarned, though, that it is small, and the space works much better with the convertible bed closed. Louise is a wonderful host, and she keeps the cottage clean and well stocked with food items to give guests a start on their stay. I was very grateful to her for her flexibility around check in and very much enjoyed meeting her and Carl when I arrived. A final benefit is space for guest parking just down the hill - something you don't often find in Rockport.

Family visit

I don’t even know where to begin. Staying at the sound house was one of the best ever experiences. The cottage was immaculate, quaint, cozy and felt like home away from home ( didn’t want to leave). It was a great get away during these difficult times and I thank you so much for opening “The Sound House” so that I could see my grandchildren. Please please if one wants the New England experience consider “The Sound House” in Rockport! Louise will make the experience even better! She and her husband stocked the refrigerator with the much appreciated staples, wood to burn as it got chilly and accessible if needed. I cannot say enough about this most pleasant stay. Wonderful retreat

Excellent Vacation!

This is the second time renting the Sound House and it was wonderful as usual. The weather was beautiful and the cottage is so comfortable and clean. Front beach and downtown is a short walk, so location is perfect. I wish I could have stayed longer. Looking forward to the next time.Louise and Karl are the best hosts. Thank you!!

Thoughtful hosts and comfortable, relatively central location.

Louise and her husband were very thoughtful in how they prepared the home for my stay and promptly responded to every phone and text communication. I thoroughly enjoyed the clean, cozy, comfortable studio and that anything I needed, from an extra blanket to umbrella to pizza cutter was easy to find. There are modern details that also made everything easier, like the super quiet a/c and easy to use window blinds. The airbed is amazingly comfortable! While there are many cottages in the area, the trees and greenery helped me feel like I had good privacy in the bathroom and kitchen, and the convenience of walking the dog easily into town, to the beach or to the pond helped me easily change from quiet to lively or scenic settings. The only thing to keep in mind for larger/taller people is that the shower is a bit small. I recommend the cottage for anyone looking for a get away for one, with a dog, or with a special someone.

Sound House

The cottage was great! The bed had an air mattress which was so comfortable. Very clean and excellent location! The patio had a beautiful view of the ocean and a quick walk to Front Beach. Downtown was only about a 5 minute walk. I can’t wait to return!

Fabulous, charming cottage

I had a great summer experience at the "Sound House". The location was ideal and offered pretty ocean views from the front and patio. It was equipped with everything I needed for my stay. Louise is a wonderful host and she provided a great welcome preparation for me. I greatly enjoyed my stay.
