Walk to the ocean, very private. Secluded, woodsy location.
We are a cozy studio in a unique setting. There is a babbling brook that runs through the property to the ocean. This was a granite-quarrying site many years ago, and the property retains the remnants of a granite road used by ox carts to move granite blocks to the schooners. There is wild life on occasion, we recently had a great blue heron for several days. State park on the ocean is a 20 min walk.
Despite the downpour, Phil was outside with a flashlight to greet us when we arrived. Beautiful property and adorable accommodations! Definitely will stay again!
My host was hospitable and helpful. The entire area, including the town, is pleasant and welcoming. The ocean is probably within walking distance for guests who are not encumbered by physical constraints. I really enjoyed the spots by the brook. The property has wonderful potential, and host seems committed to necessary upgrades to better accommodate colder temperatures. I would consider staying there again.
Phil was very kind and accommating with us when our babysitting fell through and had to bring our 2 year old daughter along. Very responsive to questions and messages I sent him. Thanks for the great stay Phil!
Beautiful, cozy stay near the ocean. Beautiful views a short walk away. Because of the weather we didn't get to use much of the outdoor space, but several nice chairs outside. Felt pretty private, separate entrance from rest of house. The grill was a nice touch, but nowhere to sit and eat inside (other than the bed) so we didn't get a chance to cook. Thanks for the lovely stay!
Phil was an amazing host! Met us when we arrived and showed us around his beautiful property. Having a grill and a firepit were amazing for us. Phil told us a bit of history of the property and surrounding area and even about a "secret" ocean spot! We were close to everything we wanted to see and more! Definitely a favorite for us! Thanks for everything Phil!!
Cute little studio appt with separate entrance on lovely property near Gloucester and Rockport area. Comfortable bed, tiny but functional bathroom with great shower. Second stay and hopefully weâll be back again
I loved staying in this simple little efficiency. This part of Massachusetts is truly a hidden gem. Philip was very welcoming and gracious. The property was beautiful (I saw a bunny, chipmunks, a deer) and the space was comfortable. I highly recommend this place.
Phil, the host, met us when we arrived to make sure we found the place before it is more secluded. The property was gorgeous and peaceful. My husband and I sat outside each morning of our stay and drank our coffee together. Good location too. Downtown Rockport is a short drive. Hammond Castle and downtown Salem arenât too far either.
