Three of us enjoyed staying at David's beautiful, historic house in the Dogpatch neighborhood. It was quiet, well equipped, and exceeded our expectations. Communication with the host was easy. It was nice to escape the chaos of Union Square at night.
Lovely Victorian house in a nice walkable neighborhood. Comfortable with charming decor, lots of room, close to the Muni stop. Beautiful deck and yard with lots of plants, perfect for
your morning coffee. Also loved Piccino Italian restaurant within walking distance. Great communication with hosts, would definitely stay here again!
Our team was very pleased to share the house while in town on business. Great host, easy to communicate with and responded quickly. Great house. Would recommend.
We had a great stay at Davidâs Dogpatch home. We were very comfortable, and loved the quiet neighborhood. We barely spent any time at the house, but loved the time that we did. Would absolutely recommend Davidâs place.
Beautiful HUGE house, conveniently located. Four of us stayed for nearly a week to attend a meeting at the Moscone Center - an easy 35-40 minute walk away. Lovely back deck to relax on after the meeting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.
We gathered to celebrate the holidays early this year in SF with our kids and grandkids! The house was perfect for us! Our kids live down the street, so it was soooo convenient. Our son from LA joined us too and the house was spacious enough to accommodate our festivities!
What a great location! This is the second year in a row we have stayed in this house. My favorite part is the library room that I choose as mine to sleep in. I love books. We can walk to Oracle park, the house is an old Victorian with all the charm, and the host, David, is very attentive.
I highly recommend this house for the location, weather, charmâŠall the things.

My sister and her family stayed here while visiting us over the holidays and it was a fantastic place! Very spacious and well-appointed. Exactly as pictured. The location is also great â super close to all the Dogpatch restaurants/activity on 22nd and 3rd, but the house itself is very quiet.
We only had one little house issue during the stay and it was resolved right away. Iâd definitely have friends or family stay here again!
A beautiful, well-appointed home with easy access to the city by either light rail or ride share. Restaurants and shops within short walk.
One thing worth noting- in SanFrancisco (and increasingly in other locations), owners must actually live in the unit for the majority of the year, so you are renting their home, and not a commercial property.
Stayed here for my son's wedding - group of 6 adults. The home is even more spacious than you might realize from the listing, with plenty of living spaces and a huge kitchen and wonderful back deck for Dogpatch's sunny days. Immaculately clean, well furnished, with lots of art on the walls. The owner was very responsive and helpful. And the neighborhood was interesting, with ample dining options within walking distance.
We had a fabulous weekend in Dogpatch at this beautiful home. It was cozy and beautiful and had all the amenities (plus some!). The proximity to the adorable neighborhood shops, local dining options, and entertainment (check the house manual, they provided great recommendations!) was just what we were looking for during our trip with friends to the city. The home was a great layout to hose our crew, and we loved all the artwork and personal touches throughout the space. The host was extremely responsive and wanted to make sure we had a great stay in their home. We will absolutely be returning again!
We really enjoyed our stay at this great Victorian property. It was close to the T line on the MUNI so it was very easy to get around San Francisco. There were also some nice restaurants close by and quite a few locations that you could pick up any supplies that you would need be it food or something else. Our only disappointment, which was a BIG one for us (maybe not for others though) was the lack of cable or satellite TV. That is the reason that we wouldn't give this 5 stars as we have stayed at many places all over the world and this was the first without cable. That being said, we would definitely stay there again.
What a wonderful flat! I grew up in SF, the other side of town. The flat reminded me of my childhood home, something about old Victorians. The charm, the layout.
Beds were very comfortable, the footed tub a delight, the choice of sitting rooms!
David, the host was very communicative.
We were there for a weekend of baseball, I walked to Oracle each day, easy simple walk.
My favorite thing was the library in the room I was sleeping in. What an amazing collection of books!
We plan to make this a yearly trip, and will definitely consider staying here again.
Mahalo Nui!
This property is the upper two floors of a charming Victorian house. It felt spacious for our family of 4 adults and we especially liked the two back decks. The neighborhood seems safe and the location is an easy walk to a small grocery and lots of dining options. We enjoyed The Daily Driver for bagel sandwiches and Piccino's coffee stand. The owner was promptly responsive to all our questions.
There are some things to be aware of. This is someone's home so all drawers, cabinets, the freezer, etc are filled with their belongings. The closets (with hangers) were, for the most part, empty for our use. There were a few maintenance issues that I have relayed to the owner. There is a sizable security deposit required for this property and VRBO holds onto it for two weeks after your check out date with a few more days processing after that, so it is a long time to be without a lot of money.
All in all, we had a satisfying and enjoyable stay here.
We just left this perfect house in the Dogpatch area. It was such a great stay that we will definitely stay here again when we are in town. We were attending a conference at Moscone, and the house was super easy to go to-and-from either by Uber or on the 15 Bus (just 2 blocks away and drops you off right across from Moscone for $2.50). We loved the house, the comfortable beds, the cozy feeling and the back porch. Be sure to eat at Piccino which is just down the street -- we all agreed it was some of the best Italian food we've had in some time.
We look forward to returning to this wonderful home.
We really enjoyed our stay at this historic Victorian house in the Dogpatch. We were in San Francisco to explore the city with our 16 yr old granddaughter so we were out and about most of the time. It was great to have a spacious and comfortable home to come back to each day. Dogpatch is an "up and coming" neighborhood with a number of restaurants and coffee shops, several of which we walked to and tried out during our stay. Communication with David was excellent and we found nothing lacking in the amenities at the house, although we didn't cook anything while we were there. One thing to note is that there are quite a few steep stairs getting luggage into the house and up to the bedrooms on the top floor of the home. This wasn't a problem for us but it is something to consider if there are people in your party for which this may be difficult. As has been noted in other reviews, this house isn't a full-time rental so you need to be prepared to feel like you are in someone's home for a visit. We would definitely stay here again.
Great communication with David. The property was as pictured and described. Loved having all the the space for 3 generations of my family. Amazing small neighborhood restaurants within short walking distances
The house is lovely and historic, but updated with modern touches. I stayed here with my family while my sister was giving birth at UCSF. It's an extremely walkable neighborhood and nearby the hospital complex. We ate at nearby restaurants and shopped at local markets. The restaurant around the corner has amazing scones and coffee!
We used their full kitchen for cooking and their beautiful dining room for family meals. The hosts were very responsive and we had a lovely stay.
We had an excellent stay in the house, which was very spacious especially for the city. The neighborhood has a number of walkable restaurants and activities, with many parks nearby for kids. The hosts were great in communicating about check in and out - and made the whole process easy.
David and Carmen have lived in Dogpatch for many years. They enjoy music, art, politics, sports, travel and San Francisco's many great restaurants and cultural activities.
We fell in love with Dogpatch and Potrero Hill for it's convienient location, great weather, many local restaurants, and unique neighborhood character.
Close to downtown, Caltrain, Muni, Bay Bridge, Hwy. 280. Chase Center, ATT Park, yet quite, and serene. Dogpatch retains it's unique small neighborhood feel and local character.
