Lovely property handily placed for town centre and castle. David and Wendy were on hand to assist and chat most days. All in all a lively week was had. They even arranged temps of 30c upwards
The accommodation had good sized rooms and a modern kitchen. The road at the front of the property was traffic busy so more noise than we were used to. It was a very handy location for local shops and as a centre for interesting places to visit. Shop staff were friendly and helpful. It was great to take the train into Cardiff. We enjoyed everywhere we visited and there were lots of lovely walks and bike ride trails.
House was not at all like posted, kitchen was only room in decent condition and that was bare necessities, we had to purchase every little item. There was not such thing has a welcome basket, there wasnât even dishcloth. The house is very dated, carpets are very dirty and musty smelling, there was absolutely no water pressure, in order to rinse my thick hair I had to sit in tub and rinse that way.
No lawn chairs out back to sit only a wooden picnic table which was okay. We were given a new BBQ which was a bonus. Fry pans were garbage, impossible to cook with.
There were no extra linens so sheets and towels had to be washed often , washer was in a very dirty condition and full of lint, had to placed on spin for about 2 hrs to get clothes really to hang outside to dry, dryer part didnât work.
Location was great for walking to supermarket and shopping , David was accommodating when ask for things but feel if Iâm paying to rent a place I shouldnât have to be asking for things every day. The place needs a total overhaul and carpets need to be binned.
Great location so handy to shops and only a short distance for main roads and motorways for travelling anywhere everything you need in house. Would definitely recommend and would rent again!

Caerphilly Stay
In general our stay was the best we could have made it. The property was fit for purpose apart from one or two niggling things. Showers were not up to scratch (i.e pressure). Ill fitting lino in the kitchen could have been a trip hazard. Not much information in the introduction leaflet. Neighbours not that friendly but the people we met in Caerphilly were very friendly and helpful and that goes for the other places we visited as well.
It was so nice to come in and find fresh flowers, fruit and biscuits waiting for us. We had been on the road for a few hours in the dark and the rain, so it was a relief to find such a cozy home to call our own for a few days.
The house is less than a 10 minute walk to the magnificent castle, a large grocery store, and an array of shops and restaurants to suit all tastes.
I wish we had more time to spend in this great spot! Weâll be back!
A fantastic and comfortable home which easily fit our family of five for a great holiday for a week. It had everything we needed and was very clean. The basket of goodies upon our arrival was a lovely surprise and we really loved the decorated Christmas tree that had been put up. Would highly recommend this home ! Thank you.
Just returned from a very comfortable stay in this cottage which is so convenient for exploring the area. We were without a car for a couple of days but the town and the station are easily reached on foot. A visit to the Castle is a must.
There is just about everything in the cottage that you could wish for but it would be nice to have somewhere downstairs to hang coats - maybe in the cloakroom so they are hidden away.
A door on the front bedroom would have been a plus as the walk-in shower was much the better of the two and would mean it could be used without disturbing others. However, we were a family so this wasn't really a great problem.
Comfortable beds, fully fitted kitchen and welcome basket was very much appreciated.
Lovely little garden, a proper suntrap and great for drying the clothes. I did water the plants when the weather turned hot.
We loved the location which was walking distance to the Caerphilly Castle and surrounding area. The house is clean and carpets fresh, but had several issues. The vinyl sheeting on the kitchen floor does not lay flat and can be a tripping hazard. There is a leak issue in one of the upstairs showers and the water runs down the wall into the hallway on the entry level (I did report this to David (sent a picture) as we were very concerned and he never responded back so we just didnât use that shower again). The water pressure in the other shower is extremely low and difficult to use, and also leaks out onto the floor. Currently the home looks very inviting with almost every surface either covered in some form of vinyl or a fresh coat of paint - but we fear there could be issues in the walls in the future if bathroom issues arenât corrected.
It was a lovely experience for our family. The cottage was in an impeccable state and most welcoming
The cottage is very close to the city centre with MOrrisons only 5 mins away on foot. It was immaculately clean and very welcoming with fresh milk in fridge, tea and fruit. The was our first experience staying in a cottage and my young daughters loved it. It is truly home away from home. We recommend it fully.
We loved this very spacious and comfortable house. Ideal also for a holiday with little kids. Our four-year-old enjoyed running around the place and hiding her toys everywhere. There were even a few books for her to read. There is also a nice backyard which we unfortunately couldn't use because the weather was a little too cold. We also very much appreciated our welcome care package of fruit, milk and cookies :-)) Thank you David and Wendy!
We also found the location of the house ideal - 10 minutes from the train and bus station, around the corner from a big supermarket and five minutes from the town center. The perfect place to explore Caerphilly and its surroundings! (Cardiff is only a 15 minute train ride away.)
