Great property in a fantastic location for the local village and some beautiful countryside walks. The pool and outside area were perfect for the whole family.
A very relaxing place to spend many days just chilling by the pool or exploring locally. Fabulous farmers markets all over the place and especially in Issigeac and an equally fabulous local food market. A well equipped house with a rustic feel and an amazing pool, we loved our time there.
Just back from a wonderful second stay in Issegiac. Everything was as good as we remembered from last time. New kitchen and bathroom are a good addition. The gite, pool and location are perfect for 3 generations.
We have nothing but praise for this property. The facilities were exactly as advertised. The location was ideal and peaceful with the pretty town of Issigeau within walking distance. We had a great time.
Do not hesitate to book this wonderful, well equipped farmhouse! Our family group of 6 (including 4 adults and 2 children) absolutely loved our stay here.
We loved the wonderful pool, the huge garden (visited nightly by several deer) the pergola and table to enjoy outdoor meals, the short walk into stunning Issigeac.
Some highlights for us were horse riding at nearby La Metairie du Roc, kayaking, a visit to Chateau de Monbazillac, the Sunday morning food market and the Thursday night food market.
Many thanks to Ron for his friendly advice and care of the pool and Nick and Julia for their excellent communication.
We had a fabulous stay at the cottage. The location and description was as described. Fabulous for a stroll into Issigeac and our favourite Sunday market! The house was well equipped and the owners have great taste! Would not hesitate to recommend this to anybody, please book, you will not be disappointed!
A really wonderful place to stay - equipped to a high standard and with every comfort. The owners are extremely helpful. Itâs a short walk to Issigeac (10 minutes) but on the edge of unspoilt farmland. Surrounded by trees the house feels very private without being isolated. The pool is lovely and very well maintained. We could not fault this property and enjoyed a fabulous week there - weâd love to return another year. Thank you Nick and Julia!
The house was in a great location, easy walk into the village. The pool was a lovely size and warm. 8 sunbeds and outdoor chairs all with cushions were great for relaxing on. The garden was spacious, we had deer wander into it a couple of times. The beds were comfortable, showers and bath all worked well.
Issigeac is a small bustling village with great restaurants, brilliant Marche Gourmand and even an Antique Brocant was on at the weekend we were there. We all had a wonderful week and would love to return in the future.
Ron who manages the property was really helpful and popped in to clean the pool and say goodbye when we left.
Perfect house and location for friends or a family holiday.
We (family including 6yr old and 3yr old) absolutely loved our stay here!! The pictures donât do it justice; beautifully decorated inside, plenty of room with amazing views outside with the pool and all the surrounding trees. Located at the end of a quiet country lane but literally a 5min walk into the centre was such a bonus! The town is stunning and possibly one of the view most beautiful places I have ever been. Hosts communicated very well and Ron who looks after the house, was helpful too. All in all cannot fault it in any shape or form :-)
Peaceful location, and perfect for the southern Dordogne. Excellent swimming pool, with a large outside table and chairs under cover. Very well equipped farmhouse. Lots of insects/bugs given the location and the fact it's a farmhouse, but only to be expected. Nothing is perfect wherever you stay, but niggles here were the uncomfortable bed mattresses, the pool which needed a good hoover at the bottom, and poorly maintained Webber Kettle BBQ. Overrall though, our stay (5 people), was enjoyable.
We really enjoyed our stay in Issigeac. The house is in a great location and being able to walk into the village to enjoy the markets and various fetes and events is excellent. The pool and outside area is lovely and the house is well-equipped. The sofas and inside table were comfortable on a few of the cooler days. We would stay again definitely. Communication with the owners was very good.
Only a few niggles: although clear from the reviews that other families with small children had stayed, we didnât feel the stairs were safe for a 18mth-3 yr old, both the gaps on the upper stairs and the large gap between the stairs and the floor upstairs: there are stair gates though so you can control access.
Perfect location and excellent accommodation close to Bergerac
An absolutely fantastic house in the most idyllic position. We have had the good fortune to book a number of holiday homes in rural France /Italy and while they have all been beautiful they are usually a drive away from the nearest village or town. Le Fourisseau is literally a few minutes walk away from one of the most charming villages you could hope to find, with stunning medieval houses and superb restaurants. The house is very comfortable and situated in large grounds with a lovely outdoor shady eating area and beautiful pool. An added bonus is proximity to Bergerac Airport and the town, plus easy access to countless charming bastide towns and villages. Owners Nick and Julia have been really great to communicate with and super helpful. One of the best holidays we have ever had
A traditional stone house sympathetically and tastefully restored to provide a lovely place to stay. The entire ground floor has recently been updated and provides a lovely cool place to relax out of the heat of the sun - or if, on the rare occasion, it rains.
The pool is great and the covered dining area is somewhere all guests will appreciate and use. There are also plenty of games, books, DVDs etc for your use - including those for outdoor/pool - along with a table tennis table.
The owners are amazingly responsive and all communications I had were very timely, pleasant and positive. I would definitely recommend a stay at Le Faurissou as you have plenty of space and peace and quiet whilst being just a few minutes walk from Issigeac and its facilities.
We recently stayed for eight nights with my wife, our seven-year-old child, and my parents. The experience was exceptional.
The property was beautiful, featuring its own pool and a lovely covered pergola area with comfortable seating. We spent a lot of time outdoors, enjoying the pool and the peaceful surroundings. Inside, the house was well laid out and fully equipped with all the amenities we could ask for, surpassing our expectations.
The farmhouse was just a short walk from the town centre. We enjoyed the bustling Sunday market and had a great meal at Le Bouchon Medieval. The local PĂątisserie and Butcherie were fantastic and we found the local people so friendly. Nearby, we visited Chateau Joubertie, which was only a couple of kilometres away. The location was also perfect for exploring the region. We watched a leg of the Tour de France in Villeneuve-sur-Lot and made trips to Beignac and Bergerac.
Ron, who managed the property, was excellent. He provided helpful advice on local attractions and ensured everything ran smoothly during our stay.
Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and we would definitely look to return.
Gorgeous rural setting a short walk from lovely town
A lovely house we have stayed in before. This time we hosted a family get together for 80th birthday celebrations. Clean, well equipped, house that was cool in the hot weather.
Our family of 4 and our friends family had a wonderful relaxing time here. The villa is truly wonderful and Issigeac is beautiful.
We all loved the pool and the children enjoyed the British TV on a morning when they were up at the crack of dawn, waiting for the pool to be opened!
The owners Julia and Nick were very accomodating in these testing times and Ron who helps with the property was very helpful.
We hope to come back again!
Thankyou for a wonderful stay. The location is perfect for a holiday. So quiet and peaceful yet so close to a beautiful historic french town. The wine is fantastic around bergerac! Communication with Julia the owner has been great all along and Ron the manager was really helpful. The whole family loved the pool too! We couldn't have asked for more!
This is a quaint cottage in a tranquil setting. It's pool is a welcome cool-down from the French summer sun. Close to the medieval town of Issigeac, with it's vibrant markets and bars; with good restaurants and historical architecture, and a stroll back to the cottage for a dio in the pool or games of table tennis.
We had a thoroughly relaxing and enjoying stay and would highly recommend a trip to the inland lakes.
Ron and the owners a very kind and helpful. We will definitely try to get back.
