Great place to stay. Be prepared for solitude, nature and beautiful views of the lake. So many things to do/ see in Porcupine Mountain State Park all the way to Copper Harbor. We would go back again.
Premium property. Very well kept. We really enjoyed the stay. Access and view of the lake was exceptional. Location to the Porcupine Mountains and Ontonagon was great.
The house and lakeshore are absolutely beautiful. We saw the lake with ice along the shoreline and some powerful waves in early April. There was snow cover as well. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets! The house is amazing with beautiful log construction. It is spacious and well furnished and stocked. The kitchen has very nice appliances, is well arranged, and has great workspace and cooking tools, dishes, and pots and pans. Bedrooms and bathrooms very nice. The shower in the lower level bath is part of a fairly deep tub and may be difficult for some people to get in and out of. Also be aware that there is a flight of steps to get into the house. All in all we enjoyed it very much, and our group was comfortable and happy!
The log cabin was beautiful, clean, and very cozy! We woke every morning and had coffee on the back deck to the sound and sight of the waves. The house was fully stocked with everything you could need, even a crockpot. We visited over 25 waterfalls all within about 1 hour of the cabin. We highly recommend this property, best vacation rental we have ever had.
Our stay was seamless and very enjoyable. The home is wonderfully appointed and set up with great thought to your needs. The kitchen is obviously stocked by someone who loves to cook because it was missing nothing you might need. Fantastic home with crazy beautiful views! Do yourself a favor and stay here!
Wonderful place to get away. The property is on a LARGE lot with 1000 ft of shoreline and no neighbors. We walked the secluded beach and watched the sunset every night. So nice to get away from life's responsibilities!!!!
We absolutely loved this cabin and its location. This is truly a wonderful location, so close to Lake Superior and the Porcupine Mountains. The host was great to work with too. Definitely a 5 star rating. Zero complaints.
Given all the fabulous reviews of this property, I'm sorry to say that we were disappointed. Within hours of arriving, I contacted the owner to tell her the house wasn't 5 star clean. Greasy stovetop, sticky blender, dirty coffee maker, dirty outdoor cushions, lots of dust, really dirty toilet, etc. This property needs a deep clean! Clean cushions were delivered the next day, but no other remediation was offered or suggested.
The lead picture for this property is very much out of date: the landscaping is extremely overgrown and appears to have been neglected for years.
The upstairs loft master suite is awkward at best: there's no door on the bathroom and every sound from upstairs can be heard downstairs. There's no handheld on the tub faucet, so washing an adult's hair is a challenge.
There are security cameras all over the exterior of the house. I've verified with VRBO that exterior cameras are OK if they're mentioned in the listing. These aren't mentioned in the listing. After saying "oh they're in the listing somewhere," the owner said I could unplug them - awkward.
Four adults spent four nights at this property, and the other three were even more critical than my review indicates. Sadly, not what we expected - especially the cleanliness and the lack of exterior landscape maintenance.
We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was very nice and is situated right on Lake Superior. We loved searching the beach for rocks and ended the day sitting by the fire watching the sun go down. It was very close to the Porcupine Mountains, We hope to stay again in the future
The perfect place to get away & relax! Perfect location, stunning views, amazing cabin, & super close to the Porcupine Mountains State Park. Would definitely stay here again!
My sons and I stayed at A Cabin Up North and found it to be an exceptional "home base" location for our hiking in the Porcupine Mountains. Plenty of room for relaxing, a well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and the location is superb. We enjoyed watching the sunset on the beach and a fire in the wood stove on a cool, rainy evening and made memories that will endure.
Absolutely gorgeous property with all the amenities we needed. Close to the snowmobile trail, restaurants and bars. Spectacular view of Lake Superior. Full equipped with stunning interior. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would.
Location perfect, with wonderful access to Porcupine Mountains. One downside is property overgrown, but otherwise could not beat the privacy, location, and beauty.
This property was absolutely perfect for our getaway with friends. We brought our daughters (1 year olds) and the space was wonderful for them to play and enjoy the outdoors. The cabin is beautiful, well kept, and so well stocked with towels, kitchen utensils, pans, etc.
