Porcupine Mountains-closest Vrbo to the Porkies!
Across road from Lake Superior
Welcome to Little Bear's Place at the foothills of the Porcupine Mountains (the Porkies)! Little Bear's Place is a cozy home close to many attractions. Lake Superior is across the road with multiple public beaches! Multiple beautiful waterfalls are a 10 - 30 minute drive. The Porcupine Mountains are a five minute drive from the front door. Great backyard with a table and chairs in the spring, summer, and early fall. Spectacular star gazing in the back yard on a clear night. The Northern Lights (aurora borealis) appear multiple times during the year across the road on Lake Superior. A family friendly restaurant with a bowling alley is ten minutes away in White Pine. There is a master bedroom with a queen bed, a second bedroom with a queen bed and desk, and a bedroom with built in bunkbeds. If you need to work while staying with us, no problem! The desk in the office bedroom has a monitor.
Loved the house and the area. Definitely would stay again. Becca was very easy to communicate with before and during our stay. The house had everything we needed and just has a good feel to it. Slept well. The bed was very comfy.
Les points faibles : Communication et exactitude de lâannonce
Beware of the rules and ask questions before you book this place! The house is beautiful and well kept, but the âhouse rulesâ arenât disclosed until the day before you check in, and could make your stay challenging. We were vacationing with friends who were staying at the local campground down the street and were hoping to have them over for dinner and games a couple nights after a day of exploring the Porcupine Mountains and swimming Lake Superior. The day before we checked in, the host sent me a message with check in info and a list of house rules. One of the rules was that there was to be no one in the house or on the property other than the people who were staying in the house. The property listing states that the house sleeps four, but nothing about not being able to have guests in the home who arenât sleeping there. The host was very rude when I questioned her and said four people max. She kept telling me to refer to the house rules, but the house rules donât say anything about having more than just the people who are staying in the home. We just wanted to eat dinner and play some board games with our friends, and unfortunately werenât able to because of this rule. I would of never have booked this house if I knew the âhouse rulesâ
This place was amazing! The first 10 minutes after arriving, we were still saying âthis place is so cute!â The pictures donât do it justice. The walls are white which makes it look much brighter inside than the pictures do. The beds were comfortable and all rooms were the perfect size. The entire house was pristine. The location was great: close to Porcupine Mountains and Ontonagon. Thereâs a public beach close by but we also enjoyed some of the places you could park alongside the road and walk a few steps to the water. I highly recommend this place!
Very cute house! Nicely decorated! Great location to the Porcupine Mountains! Becca was great with communication and checked in with us to make sure we settled in good. It was the perfect place for us to stay and the hiking was fantastic!! We will be back
Clean & cozy spot near the porcupine mountains, nice they have a fire pit & the host is very quick to respond. Cute house with a bear theme. Comfy beds, nice area of Silver City. Defintley will be back. Loved all the hiking in the area.
This is a nice, affordable unit. Very clean and comfortable! The views are not majestic, but you won't have to travel far! The nearest laundry, despite what Google tells you, is in Ontonagon. So, grab your laundry, put it in the machine, and head to Roxey's while the wash is going.
Recently updated property and very clean. Great location for access to the UP trail system and the driveway is big enough to park your snowmobile or ATV trailer.
My sister and I stayed here for our annual getaway. We wanted to explore the porcupine Mountain wilderness Park and it was the perfect location for this. The house was clean, A great layout and had plenty of room. Becca, The host was very prompt with questions we had for her.
We cooked our meals in the house and had all the cookware and utensils we needed. We had bonfires and beach time (across the road), it was a wonderful trip!
This house was a great place to stay while we were hiking in the Porkies. It was super convenient to the park. It was also clean and comfortable, including the bed we used. A great advantage for us since it was unusually hot while we were there, was a good central air system. We stayed very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking pots, etc and was the only house we rented in a multi-stop trip across the UP with a dishwasher. 1/2 bath was near bedrooms and tight, the full bath was at the other end of the house. Not super convenient but not a big deal for a short stay either. We arrived in Ontonagon a couple of hours early but were able to get in the house then. That was much appreciated. Would stay again.
I took my two adult kids away for my sonâs 30th to someplace he wanted to visit-Porcupine Mountains. This home is amazing in every way from the lovely outside deck to the inside cozy. We cooked together, had some drinks and just enjoyed being together. When Beeca said itâs close to the park, she want kidding! Lake of the Clouds is right down the road also. The place is away from Ontonagon but itâs a short 15 minute drive. I couldnât have been happier with the rental and the communications I had with Becca the owner. I look forward to coming back here again !
