The property was in beautiful Samoens village.
It was perfect in every way. The bed was comfy and temperature just right. Bath was very welcome after skiing . Kitchen was well equipped and you could not ask for more.
The owner was great .. giving advice when requested. Check in was so clear and easy.
Had an amazing holiday.
We had a fantastic stay in Samoens this September. The property was great with everything that we needed and in an ideal location. Our host provided great local information which allowed us to settle in quickly. Would certainly recommend both the location and the property.
Prima huis voor 2 gezinnen met tieners. Netjes/gezellig. Niet groot maar prima te doen met 8 mensen. Dicht bij het centrum. Communicatie was ook prima. Kortom heerlijk weekje gehad.
Communication with the owner was excellent throughout. The property was very central to Samoens central square, and it overlooked lovely local fields with cows and horses.
The house itself was well equipped, with a functional kitchen and a well thought out rooming situation. We were only two people, but the house could deal easily with 6. The wood fire is excellent and warms the house very quickly. We would definitely go back. Excellent!
Jayne & Richard, the owners of this lovely chalet, could not be more helpful - really easy to book, lots of information about the chalet and the area before we arrived, great directions and efficient booking. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. My husband and I are now looking forward to our 3rd visit!
Our next visit, coming up in January 2017, will be our 2nd winter trip and will again be an ideal venue for us to meet up with family and share the fun of the Alps and the comforts of lovely chalet with them. Our earlier summer visit in 2011 introduced us to the beautiful countryside the property enjoys along with the chalet itself which is ideally located and equipped for both winter and summer holidays.
The chalet continues to be beautifully presented and last January we were able to enjoy using the extensively refurbished kitchen, perfect for serving hot soup and warm bread following a trip to the slopes (or if you feel really inspired you could easily cook gourmet food for 9 hungry mouths â every kitchen utensils and equipment!). However, it's also great to have so many restaurants, bars, a wonderful pĂątisserie and boulangerie within walking distance in the town and the deliâs only minutes walk away for delicious croissants for breakfast.
Proving you're "never too old to learn" my husband is insisting he will have some sking lesson to celebrate his 70th birthday whilst we are there this coming January!!!! However, if he does change his mind the chalet is located on the flat, with no hills but has fantastic views of mountains and traditional chalets from the windows!
Thanks again for giving us great memories and good times to look forward to.

We first visited Samoens in 2006 and loved it so much we bought our chalet here. We live in the UK and have been coming here ever since at all times of the year.
Our family love it, both in winter for the skiing, ice skating and sledging, in summer for the outdoor pool, lakes, adventure parks, rafting, hiking and climbing mountain and road biking. Walking in the spring and autumn is particularly beautiful â from alpine meadows to autumn colour. We welcome you to stay in our lovely chalet. Jayne & Richard
We fell in love with the wonderful alpine village centre with its traditional shops, bars and restaurants. We are proud of our chalet, the original Fromagerie or âFruiterieâ as it would have been known in Samoens, dating back to 1888, and were delighted when we found it featured in the Where to Ski and Snowboard 2013 Guide, quoted as âcosy well restored traditional'. We never want to go back to the UK at the end of our visits, but it gives us a lot of pleasure when so many guests have also thoroughly enjoyed staying at the chalet.
The history of the chalet makes it feel special and everyone in Samoens knows the Ancienne Fromagerie or 'Fruiterie', the adjacent road has been named after it. Location - just walking out of door and within minutes be in the historic and lovely centre of Samoens, to its many bars and restaurants, supermarkets, wide variety of specialist food shops and the ski bus stop without using a car.
The botanical gardens is a favourite, with a walk along the river and around the lakes, or exploring further up the surrounding mountains.
