The Kyle of Lochalsh area is renown for the scenery and this location is ideally suited to profit. Kayaking and swimming at the foot of the garden! Neighbour's dog happy to accompany anyone on a walk along the shore. Bungalow is spacious and comfortable with a well equiped kitchen.
Lovely quiet location by the waterâs edge and handy for Plockton and the Kyle, though still quite a way to get into the middle Skye itself.
The property was a little dated, but had good facilities and a garden leading down to the water.
All was fine, though parts of the kitchen need a good clean particularly the oven and the cooker hood which was particularly bad, but we cleaned it as best as we could. Overall is was fine for what we needed.
House was dirty toilet seats not cleaned floor not brushed I took photographs to show owner. We had very little hot water not enough for all of us to be washed. I contacted the owner about this but it didn't make a difference our option was a cold shower or not to wash. Was very disappointed with the money we paid to what we received.
This was our second stay at Seacroft and this time we brought 4 of our friends including 2 from the USA to see the wonderful location and scenery in the Highlands.
Everyone was blown away by the views and the wonderful accommodation at Seacroft, offering plenty of space for the 6 of us.
We ended up having to extend our stay by a day due to car problems and Constance went out of her way to help us and make us feel welcome.
I loved the location of the house - private and right next to water with amazing view out of the sitting room window. Lots of walks around.
The house itself was all good. Especially loved the comfy bed and powerful shower.
The kitchen has everything you need for longer stay, you can cook whatever you want to. A lot of storage area too. We were all enjoying the sitting area with fire and amazing view. The house can get pretty warm which is just perfect for me. I wasnât cold at all although I was worried I might be.
Really practical was also the washing maschine, dryer and dishwasher. Really appreciate it.
Perfect house and location for 2 families with 4 children.
Constance was a very helpful host answering all our questions before we arrived. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was very homely, clean and spacious with plenty of room for the children to play inside and outside. We were very impressed with the very well equipped kitchen which has everything you could possibly need. The dining table is also a good size for large groups and the living room area has plenty of comfy couches and seats for everyone. All of the bedrooms are a good size with plenty of storage, 3 of which had en-suite toilets with showers. The kids loved with big family bathroom with the jacuzzi bath. The location is fantastic too. We were sad to leave and could happily have stayed longer than our 5 days. We would happily recommend this house to anyone.
Super location for trips out onto Loch Alsh or onto Skye etc. B&B next door who were very friendly.
The property itself is a bit disappointing, it needs some TLC and could really benefit from 'proper' access to the Loch as opposed to battling through the undergrowth. The property is also cluttered with the owners items which I'm sure is lovely for them...not so great for us!..and not great from a Covid perspective either - far too many items to be properly cleaned at turnover.
On the positive side, the property did accommodate our group well (two adults and two children as well as two other couples).
We stayed here over the Xmas and NY period and had a fabulous two weeks. The house was really spacious and very well equipped. The views were amazing and we loved sitting in the spacious lounge area watching for wildlife and taking in the magnificent views. The house was cosy and warm, but we still enjoyed the centrally located wood burner. The local area has many amenities, so catered for our needs, itâs also a fabulous base for exploring Skye and visiting the Eilean Donan Castle. We were lucky enough to see a sea eagle and an otter family along the shore during our stay. Constance was very helpful with questions and advice on the run up to our stay and throughout. The neighbours were also very friendly and helpful. We hope to return again for another stay.
He had a wonderful stay at Seacroft! The location couldn't be any better. Watching the weather and tides change on the loch was so beautiful and we had access to a well stocked co-op just a 10 minutes away. The Bridge to Skye was just about 15 minutes away. The house is very well equipped, lots of pot and pans and utensils. Having three en-suites was really great. Constance we easy to work with and very responsive to our questions both before and during the stay. All in all a great vacation get away.
Our Stay - 4 couples short break discovering the Isle of Skye
Pros:
Location
Size of property
En-suite bathrooms
Kitchen well stocked with crockery and cutlery
Cons:
Not very clean
Heating / Hot water controlled remotely by owner so no hot water when you need it. Prepare for cold showers!
Poor slow WiFi connection
Wood burner placed on stone slabs with sharp edges and corners - lethal to your feet and high risk for tripping over.
Direction to find the property - follow signs for the B&B.
We had a lovely week in Kyle! The house was perfect for my family (4 adults, 2 children and a dog) and we found the kitchen extremely well equipped. The location was great for doing lots of activities nearby and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you
My family and I have just come back from Constance's idyllic cottage up in the highlands. The cottage is set in a beautiful surrounding and has everything you may need. Close to local towns and lots of interesting things to do. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Fantastic stay in a beautiful spacious cottage with a view to remember
Beautiful spacious property with plenty room for all our party (8 adults).
Kitchen was incredibly well equipped and open plan living ensured uninterrupted quality time was enjoyed by all.
Fabulous location to access all activities around Kyle and Skye
Thank you so much, we will be back soon
Great location but the place needs cleaning and looking after
We (two families with two children each) spent a week in this house. The location could not have been better and the size of the house is great for eight people, especially the open plan kitchen. However, the house did not meet our expectations. Everything was dirty; we even had to vacuum clean on the day we arrived and dust was accumulated everywhere in the house. The garden is big but you need to watch out for dog and hen excrements from neighbouring pets. Rubbish is also accumulated in the access to the loch and we are still wondering whether someone lives in the 'not very friendly' caravan parked at the front of the property. The hot water is not reliable. We had cold showers on two of the 6 evenings we spent there which isn't nice especially when you have young children. Overall, great location and size but the place needs cleaning and looking after.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week here. We were 2 families so the house was a perfect size for the 8 of us. The location is stunning: the kids loved the water which was directly accessible from the house, the views are beautiful and the proximity to Skye and Plockton was great. The kitchen was very well equipped.
Well appointed property with plenty of room for all eight of us. Great location for getting out and about and returning to a tranquil setting each day.
Seacroft is just the most relaxing place in the world and as it is on the shores of Lochalsh has great views and an ever changing landscape. The house because it is quite new is really cosy and although we have the wood burning stove is is certainly not essential! As we use the house lots ourselves the kitchen is well stocked with everything you would need. Lots of plates and cutlery etc etc.
We have recently recarpeted and painted the entire house and upgraded the three ensuite bathrooms. There is also a new Amercian style fridge freezer with ice maker etc.
