Only steps from the beach in Glenelg village by Kyle of Lochalsh on the West Coast of Scotland, Tigh Na Creig offers self-catering holiday accommodation for 6 people. One of the best located holiday cottages, with a sea view, we are nestled by the beach, overlooking Glenelg Bay, where guests will enjoy stunning Highland vistas "over the sea to Skye" and beyond to the South West, towards the sound of Sleat and the islands of Rhum and Eigg.
A cozy traditional home. Beautiful water views and even friendly sheep that wander free on the beach. We particularly enjoyed the log burner in the living room. Comfy beds and lots of hot water...well equipped kitchen and ground level bed and bath if anyone has mobility issues. We would definitely stay here again...loved it
We had a wonderful stay - so many great things to do in the area. Also just sitting out front in the sunshine looking at the view. The house is really pretty, comfortable and well equipped - thanks for a great holiday!
We enjoied the stay close to the waterfront - especially from the nice Wintergarden. The upper floor rooms - especially the bathroom - are only suited for people under 1,60 meters.
The wonderful, quiet village of Glenelg was an amazing start to our trip to Scotland. The Inn and Shop are less than a 10 minute walk away and the people of Glenelg are incredibly nice and helpful. The house is very cozy and has a lot of great touches that make your stay comfortable and relaxing. You'll love this place!
For 4 days my sisters and I enjoyed the house and views very much! We also had wonderful meals at the Glenelg Pub.Unfortunately the location was much more remote than we expected (our own fault) and we were unprepared provision wise. Thankfully there is a little store in the village for a few supplies of groceries.
Beautiful Location. Loved the water views and the observatory/sun room. Beds very comfortable. Upstairs bathroom small. Great things to visit nearby. Taking the ferry with lots of fun. But getting to Isle of Skye using the bridge is a long drive.
A fantastic week, great house in an amazing location. The house had everything we needed, all the comforts of home in a beautiful setting. The added bonus of the Glenelg Inn (welcoming & fantastic food) & shop within a few mins walk makes a big difference. Lots to do nearby in the most beautiful setting. I hope weâll be back soon!
We loved the remoteness of this property! Beautiful views. Fascinating little village. Bring supplies and food with you. It is a trek to a local grocery. The house is lovely inside with a unique floor plan which we loved. Beds are extremely comfortable. The Glenelg Inn was a special treat, great food!
I stayed in Olivia's cottage with my family for four nights and we loved every minute of it.
The cottage was the perfect size for the five of us with two of my sons sharing one of the upstairs bedrooms. My oldest sons are quite tall and had some difficulty navigating the low ceilings in the upstairs bathroom but this is a minor quibble. The kitchen was fully outfitted with everything we needed and we enjoyed cooking ourselves meals with local produce and seafood.
The accommodations were quite comfortable and we had all the linens we required. The wood burning fireplace was lovely and we enjoyed the company of the neighbors, Jan and Trish, as well as their dog, Ollie, upon our arrival.
The cottage is located a literal stone's throw from the sea and if you aren't packing your rain gear for your stay you should, it can get quite ugly outside. To me this is part of the charm and I wouldn't change a bit of it.
Olivia was helpful and communicative prior to our stay and she helped make our time in her cottage a most pleasant experience.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Olivia's place and I would gladly stay there again!
Lovely house with just the best view out to Skye you can imagine. Well appointed kitchen, very comfy beds and incredible raised decking area for views of the loch.
5 mins drive from the most wonderful micro brewery tap room Dun Brewing, which was the highlight of the trip.
Also walkable to a cosy pub and village shop which was a plus.
Great communication from host. Would stay again
