Perfect location for all the amenities in Brixham. The accommodation was larger than expected, very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed included. The owner and caretakers were a pleasure to deal with.
Garden and balcony an asset ,interior was clean comfortable and cosy .Well equipped kitchen, every thing at hand , location and free parking a bonus .We enjoyed our stay so much ,we booked Upper Cottage two days after returning home for next year
We would recommend Upper Cottage to a friend or relative without hesitation
The cottage is home from home but better still it's in beautiful brixham, 3 lovely clean bedrooms, well stocked kitchen diner and a large comfortable lounge , with everything a family could want for a holiday, there is a small balcony where you can watch the world go by, at the rear a raised patio with a barbecue a lovely private sun trap , the cottage is so handy for shops ,transport ,and has it's own parking spot near the harbour which is a bonus ,we are already looking forward to another week in 2017 can't wait
Stayed 2 nights in end of September. Good location. As mentioned by other reviewers located on busy town road so need to unload/load the car quickly. Parking space down by the dock short walk, tight space. Apartment had easy walk in shower, perfect for my 87yr old father in law. Furniture dated but cozy, reflected well in the photos.
We booked the cottage for my mums 50th birthday as a surprise and had the most comfortable and wonderful stay. We took our little dogs with us and although the weather wasn't the best it didn't matter as the cottage was great to spend time in and there are so many local dog friendly pubs on the door step. Very quick booking and communication. Spotless cottage, couldn't fault a thing as it was just what we wanted. Thank you! Look forward to staying with you again hopefully this year and definitely next year!
Older property with great location to several coastal areas
Average stay. Found lighting poor especially in living room. Unaware location was above a store. Musty smell indicating damp within the structure.
Best point was access to other areas via boat and bus.
Sweet cottage and very central to Brixham. Well equipped and cosy. Parking is available in the harbour in a dedicated space about 5 mins walk away and down the hill.
Our only small problem was the boiler was "switched off" (according to the boiler man) so we had no heating or hot water other than from the electric shower on the first night and had to wait in the following morning to let the boiler man in - luckily not for too long and the weather was warm. But it was an unexpected inconvenience none-the-less.
The location and the property were great. Everything you need is there in the property for a great stay. The location is fantastic as you are near all the shops and restaurants it's just a short walk to the harbour. You can also visit local places and there is a car parking space which is fantastic as the parking can be a nightmare and costly. Overall we would definitely stay there again.
Loved our week's holiday in Brixham. The property was all that we could of asked for and more. Excellent location. Bus stop opposite to visit all the sites Torbay has to offer. Would not hesitate to recommend to others. We hope to return in the future.
The property was just as described, very quirky with more than enough space for our family which consisted of family of four plus grandparents, the location was spot on for all Brixham has to offer with no large hills or many steps to encounter to get to the harbour, a lovely pub (The Manor) was also situated just behind the property. Would recommend the property to all age groups.
Fantastic time had by all of us!
Despite the mix up with the instructions for obtaining the keys everything else went smoothly. A central location well appointed with a very helpful landlady. We enjoyed our stay
We all enjoyed our stay at Upper Cottage .It was a delightful and felt very homely ,very clean and everything you required at hand .We will definitely recommend Upper Cottage and would love to stay there again . It's in the centre of Brixham so you are near to all of its ameanaties . One small downside steep steps up to the barbecue .
Upper Cottage Brixham....a wonderful cottage on the coast in a beautiful part of Devon
Upper Cottage Brixham is the place you want to stay in for your relaxing holiday whether it's summer, winter, autumn or spring.
My family and I spent the whole month of December 2018 at the cottage and couldn't have been happier. A home away from home and the position could not have been more perfect. Rosalie has thought of everything and the cottage was warm and cosy.
One word of warning for those who have a problem with stairs, there are steep stairs leading up to the lounge room from the front door and another lot of spiral stairs leading from the lounge to the upstairs bedrooms and bathroom. We loved the whole Brixham experience and will never forget our wonderful time there.

Great flat, excellent location, brilliant owner. Loved it!
The whole experience from booking, arrival, our stay and liaison with the owner was five star. The flat was perfect for our family; 2 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs. Very well equipped. The location is ideal for walks (long and short), pubs, convenience stores, shopping, fishing, crabbing, etc. Or just chilling in the flat. The owner Rosalie was very quick to respond to our correspondence, very helpful with any questions we had and just generally all you require and more from an owner. Thanks Rosalie and looking forward to returning soon.
Great location & well equipped property .
Loved this quirky cottage . Unfortunately the weather wasnât on our side so was unable to enjoy the outside space .
Very well appointed, very comfortable and everything you could possibly need and more.Lots of character inside the accomodation We will definately be booking again.Whole family and the dog enjoyed it.
We stayed in Upper Cottage over the Christmas holidays. It is a lovely cosy cottage with plenty of facilities to make it a comfortable home from home. When going out for the day, you can look forward to returning to the cottage to relax in the well equipped and comfy sitting room and prepare meals in the adequate kitchen. It is very centrally situated in Brixham - but it being Christmas obviously most of the shops were closed as well as the restaurants so we did go to Paignton and Torquay to get supplies.
My partner and I live in the midlands. We both love the south west and decided to look for a property to buy. We toured the area and decided on Brixham as we wanted somewhere to spend our winters. We spotted a run down property in need of a complete renovation and so we bought it and spent the next year lovingly restoring it. Upper cottage used to be a merchant traders house and dates back to the 17th century. Because Upper Cottage is our HolidayHome we have taken special care to provide good quality furnishings and utensells. You will find every thing there that you need to make your holiday a memorable one. Upper Cottage will provide you with a lovely environment to spend quality time with your family. We are retired now and love to spend time at the cottage.
We bought our holiday home in brixham because we fell in love with the place.and as we intended to use the cottage in the winter time we wanted somewhere with a more gentle climate. Brixham is a little micro climate and can often be very mild during winter months. Its charming and busy harbour and the situation of the cottage being on the level of the town means you can nip in and out of the town and harbour on foot without the need for a car. its in an area of outstanding natural beauty with lots to see close by, lovely walks and fantastic pubs and resturants. We chose Brixham to buy our holiday home because it is a thriving fishing comunity.not just a holiday resort. So many seaside towns die in the winter but although Brixham is quieter, it is still lively out of season.
We are close to the harbour and town with the manor pub being the nearest pub only 50 or so yrds away. numerous shops restaurants and bars within a 5 minute walk from the property. buses to all torbay resorts leave from the square across from the property which we enjoy for free with our bus pass!!We love to walk around the harbour and up on to Berry Head which is an area of outstanding natural beauty. The beaches of fishcomb and churston cove are a 15 minute walk from the harbour and you can take your dog on these all year round. Brixham welcomes dogs and many of the pubs and resturants allow them in. The cottage is cosy for winter lets with full gas central heating (all you have to do is turn up the thermostat and on it comes) and a flame effect stove fire in the lounge fireplace.
