Hare Farm Oast est un endroit trĂšs spĂ©cial oĂč sĂ©journer. Le grand et beau bĂątiment a Ă©tĂ© fini Ă  un niveau trĂšs Ă©levĂ© en tant que maison de vacances contemporaine. Il occupe une position privilĂ©giĂ©e dans un cadre idyllique avec son propre terrain d'un demi-acre et de vastes vues Ă©tendues. Nous avons avec amour insufflĂ© une nouvelle vie dans le bĂątiment de la ferme avec ses trois rondelles, utilisĂ©es Ă  l'origine pour le sĂ©chage et le stockage du houblon. Utilisant l'artisanat et les matĂ©riaux traditionnels dans sa rĂ©novation, l'oast continue de revendiquer son hĂ©ritage et sa beautĂ© uniques, tout en offrant un luxe et un confort discrets Ă  ceux qui y sĂ©journent.

We had an amazing friends Christmas weekend at the Oast. Joanna was a great host, excellent communication and she was kind enough to put up some Christmas decorations before we arrived so it was extra festive. The property and location is stunning and I can't recommend it enough!

A perfect base for a three generation family holiday. The Oast was delightful and immediately felt like home. Tasteful décor and lovely open spaces with views of the valley. Plenty to do in the area and a great pub, The Red Lion, in the village.

Country Retreat

We had a fabulous time relaxing at Hare Farm Oast. The property is immaculate and well maintained. Our hosts were very responsive and helpful, going above and beyond. I will definitely be back and would recommend the Oast to anyone interested in a quiet country farm house.

Wonderful property

A wonderful property, exactly as described, and with beautiful views. Very peaceful and private, and it worked very well for our extended family, particularly the large open plan space, and none of the bedrooms disappointing. We will be back!

A building with 6 round rooms. Wow!

A sensitive restoration of a beautiful oast house. The roundel rooms were wonderful (even have curved radiators). So well looked after, every detail taken care of. And the views, oh my. They were endless, and not an ugly landmark in sight. Just rolling valleys and fluffy white sheep.

Simply the best

Our multi-generation party, aged from 2-81 is quite hard to accommodate but over the years we've found some great UK holiday lets. The Oast is by far our favourite and the highest standard we've found. It's a beautiful building, really comfortable and well-equipped (great kitchen, brilliant showers). The enclosed garden has a wonderful view, with sheep. The owners are close by for any problems or queries and were friendly and helpful but never intrusive. We didn't know the area and that was a nice surprise too, with some good walks directly from the house and Rye on the doorstep.

Lovely Relaxing Weekend

Property worked well for a large family group of 10. Bedding was lovely and we had good communication with owner and their family who live next door who were on hand to help with any issues. There was a great outdoor space where we had family games. If we were to make any suggestions it would be for an extra 2 garden chairs to save bringing out indoor ones and the small sofa bed to be replaced as it was very uncomfortable for sitting on. But otherwise all good thank you 😊

30th Birthday celebrations

Just returned after a long weekend celebrating our daughter’s 30th birthday. We were a party of 9 adults and 3 small children. The house was cosy and plenty big enough for us all. Happily stay there again, although we had to be super vigilant at all times as our grandson is only a year old and already walking, so the stairs and the fireplace were very hazardous to him. I would definitely recommend with older children. We were shown around the lambing sheds by Annie and saw some lambs being born. A visit to the Red Lion is a must. All in all a great time, Joanna was very helpful in the run up to our stay and during.

An amazing house in a great location.

We had a wonderful week's holiday staying at the oast house at Hare Farm. As soon as we set foot in the property, we knew we were going to enjoy our time there. It is spacious, airy ,funished to a very high standard and of course, a very historically interesting building. Everything that we needed had been provided for and we looked forward to coming back to it every day. The bedrooms were all comfortable, the seating area downstairs was an extremely relaxing place to unwind and the kitchen had every amenity required. The high point for us all however, was the setting. The views from the back of the house were wonderful. We could watch the mist over the fields in the early morning, an owl flying across the valley in the evening, the sheep grazing at any time of day - there was always something to enjoy and appreciate. The rear patio was the perfect place to sit and while away the time and there was also plenty of space for the children to play while others relaxed. When not enjoying being at the house, there is a wide variety of things to do and places to see in the area so it provided a great base for exploring. Returning home however down the country lanes to the farm was always a lovely way to end the day. Our hosts at the farm were incredibly helpful and welcoming. The basket of goodies that greeted us on arrival had been thoughtfully prepared and was much appreciated as were other special touches such as vases of fresh flowers and high quality toiletries in the bathrooms. To sum up, we all felt that this property had everything that we could have hoped for in a holiday venue. We felt we were somewhere special, we found we were able to relax immediately, we were extremely comfortable and we knew straight away that we were going to have a great stay.

A perfect spot for a family break.

We hired the Oast for a family get-together to celebrate a significant birthday. It was absolutely ideal, with good sized bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms (the showers in particular are worth a mention). The private garden was perfect for relaxing, with the sights and sounds (baa!) of the adjacent sheep farm. It’s a short drive to the seaside or into the countryside for walks. I would delighted to recommend it.

Our parents bought Hare Farm in 1985 when the Oast house was a redundant building (the last hop harvest on Hare Farm was in the 70s) and so they used it as their potting shed. The farm is now run by my brother, Stuart, in one of the most beautiful parts of the Sussex countryside. Myself, Stuart and Annie (sister-in-law) restored and converted the Oast house in 2010/11. Alongside the sheep farm and conservation schemes, we offer both the Oast house and a shepherds hut as self-catering accommodation.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Hare Farm is often recalled as a true “Darling Buds of May” setting, made all the more so by the oast house which holds so much history and beauty architecturally. We could not let it collapse and disappear. We have invested in restoring it to its original beauty, and converting it in to a high-spec holiday home for our guests to all enjoy. Such a unique and historic feature in the Sussex landscape is now secure for generations to come, and we are very proud to have enabled this to happen.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Hare Farm Oast is unique for its building and situation. Firstly it offers an idyllic setting (far from the road with spectacular views across the Brede Valley). Secondly, the oast house is one of the most stunning properties one could wish to stay in. It is spacious throughout, has three roundels, so six round rooms to admire and many of the original features are retained (exposed brickwork, timber, vaulted ceilings, hop equipment). Thirdly, it is finished to a very high spec, including luxury master bedrooms and en-suites, a fabulous round kitchen with Corian worktops and a Rangemaster cooker, oak and tiled floors with underfloor heating throughout the downstairs, Sky Sports and more. It really is a very special place to stay.
