Great view perfect size for 2
Amazing ocean view and just right for a weekend getaway. Much nicer than past stays in similar units.
We loved watching the sea, the sea birds, walking along the beach, knowing there were whales not too far away (whale watching boats were out every morning nearby), and this little condo was the perfect hub where we returned every day with fresh seafood for dinner, exhausted, and ready to get some sleep.
Clean, neat, and, yes, an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean. No, it doesn't have a balcony, but the windows open and the ocean sounds and salt air come right in. There are people way out on the sea in tourist boats most mornings looking for whales - we were also watching for the cormorants, brown pelicans and California gulls. We are high above the ocean and the trek to the beach is 83 steps down to a steep street down to the beach - but it was just fine and we often went down several times a day. The chocolate shop is not far (absolutely delicious chocolate, though I'm not sure what a "chocolate frog" is...!). And a place to buy fresh seafood is just a bit beyond that, a block or two more towards city-center, also on the west side of the road. We based ourselves here and went to Newport for one (seafood) lunch, and spent one morning whale watching with a marine biologist in Depoe Bay. This place isn't far from either town. Everything worked here - towels are clean and fresh and enough for our entire week, stove, microwave, dishes etc., fridge with tiny freezer, pots/pans, etc., gas fireplace, nice TV, shampoo, soap, dishwashing soap.... It was perfect. We don't have a dog right now, but there are dog dishes, a few towels and poop bags in a dresser drawer - so they thought of everything. I slept on the futon in my sleeping bag, with the window opened a bit and loved falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean! It' not the Ritz-Carlton, but it was perfect for our needs and very comfortable to be here.
Great Anniversary Weekend Get Away
This is an updated, pretty condo with great functionality. The view was exactly as it is in the pictures. The gas fireplace set ambiance and was also a very convenient clothes dryer, as our coats had gotten wet on our beach walks. Having a kitchenette was a huge bonus, and money saving feature. We bought fresh seafood and cooked it ourselves to celebrate our anniversary. There was a perfect amount of room for two people. The check in/checkout process was a breeze, a lockbox with a key and clear, emailed instructions reminding us of our check in date and how to check out. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because although the fold down couch is a space saver and looks very clean and modern, it wasn't very comfortable for actual sitting. We spent two whole evenings vegging out catching up on old movies, and having an actual "loveseat" or "couch" would've been perfect! Also, there were no extra blankets and although it's wonderful having electric heat, we didn't want to get up in the middle of the night to turn it on, as we weren't cold when we went to bed. But other than those two things it was a fantastic location and if they get a new couch, we'll absolutely stay here again!
This is a cute little suite with easy access to the beach. The kitchen was super convenient and easily accommodated our family of four.
