Family Vacation

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was such a cute place! Tucked away in the quiet but close enough to the beach that it was just a short walk! Plenty of space for people with larger groups. The only thing that was horrible was the alarm for the pool on the door. It doesn’t give you long enough to bring a bag in before it’s howling.

Very Nice House close to Seaside

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house is super close to seaside which is what we were looking for. It’s a nice house with plenty of room. However, it was not clean! I had multiple gross stains on my bedsheets and duvet. There was a pile of dirt on my nightstand. There was a glob of dried toothpaste in the shower. I will say the management company was very responsive and changed my bedding the next day and offered to reclean the house but we were already moved in by that point. This could be a great house, it just needs some TLC. For example the trash drawer is broken.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was in a great spot tucked in the back of Seagrove but super-close to downtown Seaside. The only entrance to the home is right by the pool, and FL law requires all doors that access a pool be outfitted with an incredibly loud and immediate alarm the second the door opens. If you forget to push the button, or forget to quickly close the door...you'll know!! That is unfortunate, because the house is otherwise very comfortable. Note that while it sleeps lots of people, the kitchen table is tiny and only seats 4! Plan to eat out! Overall, we enjoyed the stay.

We all could not stop talking about how gorgeous this house is!! Totally exceeded expectations in every way. Property managers were extremely responsive and helpful, the place was clean, and it had everything we needed. 5 minute walk to Seaside restaurants and bars, 2 minute walk to the beach. Would stay again 100%!!

Unfortunate Experience

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family and i had chosen 143 forest for the christmas holidays. Unfortunately i did not read the previous reviews till 4 das before checking in. I informed Royal Destinations that if the problems that were previously not amended. (see april 2021 comments)- i will bne asking for a refund or want to change to another home. I was promised a 5 star experience from royal, but unfortunately the property is very poorly maintained or not at all maintained and is exactly correct what the previous complaints were. Run down, bad beds- found a empty vodka bottle in upstairs bedroom closet- toilet broke upstairs when we were there 7 forks, 2 wineglasses, etc etc. Although Royal did their best to make up for the problematic issues, our families first holiday after 1 year of none together due to covid was not a 5 star experience. I have asked for a complete or even partial refund from the manager,David Conkle, whom is highly aware of all the problems during our stay but have not heard a word for 2 weeks. I do not recommend this property at all. I am very disapppointed also in the management for not responding and as well as not really fixing the problems mentioned form the previous renter in April before my family arrived. Very unprofessional and not good conduct for 30A visitors in general.

143 Forest was a really nice place to stay. The location is great, only two blocks to Seaside proper and two blocks to the beach. However, this place needs a lot of love. The white sofas are very dirty with wine stains and other stains on them. While this sort of thing doesn't bother me, it might bother you. One of the upstairs bedrooms has ZERO places to put your clothes. There are no chest of drawers or any sort of hooks . Also, in the bathroom for this bedroom there are nothing to hang wet towels or bathing suits. Nothing, no towel racks either. Very strange. There are two porches on the second floor; one of them has two chairs and a little table, the other porch has nothing! No place to sit, totally empty. Again, very strange. Be warned that the third floor bedroom is very small and has no coverings on the many windows. There's no way anyone but children could fit up there. The sofa bed is beyond horrible. Mattress is ancient and super thin and super dirty. Also, we counted 32 dinner plates, 25 salad plates and only ONE wine glass in the whole house. There were 8 other glasses, very weird. The pictures of the pool made it seem larger, be warned that it is super tiny, really only a dipping pool. Air conditioning worked well as did the washer and dryer. There's only a very small table to eat meals, no dining room or large table. very strange design. There are chairs to sit in by the pool but they all have cushions which were always wet, so basically no seating outside, except for the picnic table. I know how negative this must sound, but I've stayed in many homes here and it's very helpful to me to read very detailed reviews when I'm trying to decide which house to pick. All this being said, we had a wonderful week, none of this stuff mattered to us at all. The management were super helpful to work with.

Nice Location, Needs Sprucing Up

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house was in a great location. Walking distance to downtown Seaside and the beach. Quick drive to Publix. The decor and fixtures were beautiful. Like others reviews stated though, it’s very worn. It’s so strange because the house itself is nice and the decor is beautiful, but everything was a mess. Dings in the walls, torn carpet, cabinet doors off the hinges, a grill that needs to be replaced(it comes on but that’s about it). It was also not very clean. With check in being later and check out being earlier due to “cleanliness due to covid), I was disappointed in how clean the house actually was. Floors were dirty, bathrooms were just okay. If the issues were addressed with this home(new grill, cleaned throughly, minor upgrades made), we would definitely stay again. Not entirely what you expect

Doors fall off hinges when u open them and most doors slam into something when opened due to the poor design. There is no need for a half bath in the dining area. It’s kind of a gross thought, and should be a pantry. The master bath / bedroom was fine except for one broken door and the shower door which bangs into the shower head. The day room should be just a bedroom and the pullout sofa needs to be replaced if u want to consider it a bed. Horrible old mattress. The kitchen garbage not even on a track. Broken so it falls on you every time u try to reach the back can. Kitchen dining table is old and knicked and just looks crappy. All rugs need to be replaced. Just old and dingy. Upstairs was fine and enough space. Just more broken doors that fall off when opened. Bathrooms were big and plentiful. There was a leak coming into the kitchen from above next to the dining table when it rained hard. Grill needed repair, and they came out right away to repair. Staff at Royal Destinations were great and the accommodations were good except for what I stated above. The location is really good but the dust from the road is a bit much. Lastly the garbage situation. There is just as much garbage on the ground inside the bin than what is in the bags. Garbage service does not pick up what is not in bags and we arrived to a lot of loose trash inside the bin. I would rent with kids again but not adults looking for something nicer

Photographs better than it is

This property photographs well, but was not up to our group’s standards. The cleaning staff must only change the linens and put out fresh towels- the rest of the house looked untouched from cleaning. The couches were dirty with stains, breakfast table paint peeling off the surface, and the floors were filthy- and having small children playing on floors I was grossed out. I had to locate the broom on day one to clean the dust clots and filth off the floor. The bathrooms sinks were dirty as you could see residue of shave cream and men’s facial hair stuck to the sides. Oh and I saw three bugs while we were there. The house may sleep multiple people, but the 1/2 the space is for kids and one bunk spaces looks like it was the laundry closet turned into a 2 person bunk room. Other than beds the space is not designed to accommodate a large group (we had 6 adults and 3 kids under the ages of 3). The lack of dining space is undesirable. We had all 6 adults crammed into a breakfast nook to eat dinner together. The only reason a gave 3 stars is because the location to Seaside center is excellent!! You can easily walk to the center in less than 10 minutes. The bikes were a nice addition to the house and we did use them. I would recommend asking to have the bikes serviced prior to your stay bc the chain feel off one bike midriff and our friend was nearly injured from flying off the bike. Also if you are renting gear be specific in quest and placement of items. I rented a bike trailer from my baby to bike along and the company dropped off a trailer with broken seatbelts. I have the same trailer at home dnd know how to operate it- if you were unfamiliar with this product you may not know how your child would be in danger if and accident took place. They also shared helmets would be delivered and 1. No helmets. Then when I called to see where the were the delivered later adult helmets. I don’t need adult helmets for a children’s trailer. We also rented a golf cart- 1st the cart was delivered to the wrong address, and then went for a night ride the following day and the headlights were burnt out. The concierge was very responsive to send out maintenance to look at and try to correct all our problems, but it should have to be corrected it should be right the first time. All these instances added to the poor rating. I’ll definitely be back to seaside, But not this property and management company.

Large, comfortable home but well worn.

The location of the property is terrific. Cleanliness was disappointing and the property is fairly worn with stains on the skip covers and carpet. It needs some care and upgrading for sure. The air conditioning was also not adequate and we were all too hot at night. I left two messages for Royal Destinations to ask a question on the first day and never received a call back.
