This unit was perfect for me and my husband, staying 3 nights to pick up our daughter from Univ of San Diego. Close to everything: coffee in the a.m., mini-market, liquor store, lunch at Ceviche & Beers, Ocean Walk and trips to USD.
Located near local restaurants, easy drive to the zoo and shopping. Water temperature was a little iffy. Warm switched to cold on its own after a few minutes. But that was the only glich.
When we first arrived the place was clean. Unbeknow to us the hot water was turned off . We didn't realize that until after a cold shower. They came and fixed the problem. Good stay. Would stay again.
The stay was good in the beginning. Soon as the rain started the bathroom light starting leaking and my girlfriend slipped. I have pictures and a video of the leakage. I contacted the company and they responded with we will send someone. I have not heard back from the company and I would like a refund or some type of compensation.
What a wonderful home! It is cute, clean and very conveniently located. Truly a block from the bay and just a couple blocks from the beach and boardwalk. My daughter and I walked everywhere and loved this surfer community.
While you donât deal directly with the owner, the property management company was friendly and helpful, getting us an early check-in.
Be sure to grab breakfast at Mollyâs when you stay- delicious!
I was very impressed with this property. The bed was very comfortable. It was centrally located and close walking distance to beach, bay, shops and restaurants.
This location was within a short walking distance to the ocean and bay and several restaurants. Really enjoyed our stay. Other than the upstairs tenant deciding to rearrange all the furniture one night at bedtime it was fairly quiet. A nice extra was the dedicated parking space. It was quite small but we were prewarned it would be.
This was a good location super close to and in between the bay and beach. Itâs a mile walk to the grocery store but a small overpriced market is nearby. The surrounding units on property had large parties staying or visitors partying all night each night. We reached out to property management and owners with no response. Been going to SD entire life and never had other guests so inconsiderate as this their entire stay and all night long. I was avoiding calling the police for a noise complaint but should have as we didnât get sleep with exception of 1 night when other parties werenât there. Unlikely to rent there again as a result of the lack of noise monitoring/enforcement. Otherwise good unit with the basics. Parking garage super small. Small Rav4 barely fit. Had much difficulty getting out of and into car, and Iâm a relatively fit person.
My issue is not with the place but with vrbo. Change the name. It is not owners anymore, it is with very strict management companies. It used to be really cool the owners would write a note of local places and leave coffee or beer. Now theses rentals are renting from a hot wet l e we ithnon existent staff. Again this place as everyone oh wow booked was great but this not vrbo
The property is well kept and very clean. Perfect for families with small children. The pull out bed isn't comfortable, but can be padded with extra blankets for comfort. The walk to the beach was less than 2 minutes with small kids in tote.
Next door, to the left of the property is a local homeowner who has an unleashed, uncollared pit bull. The fence dividing the property is only 3 feet high. While we didn't experience anything negative with the dog, the dog would actively bark at some people walking by. Also, to note the parking is extremely narrow, so you will need to park outside of the space to unload your belongings.
We would definitely stay with Mahattan Shores again, just not next to the homeowner with the dog, as we have small children.
