Fun place for family to stay while attending engagement party in San Clemente. Close to fab beach and quaint, beach town with casual dining and lots of little shops within walking distance.
Beautiful setting and grounds. We like that it is a few miles down the beach from Oceanside pier so it is quiet and tranquil. We did walk the 2 miles to the pier one afternoon. Carlsbad restaurants are also very close.
Great stay, however no bath soap or shampoo which I feel should be provided or if not should be made clear these amenities arenât provided. Also misleading Beach access, itâs not a beach, itâs just rocks
The house is beautiful⊠accommodations awesome⊠The only thing lacking was the view of the oceanâŠ. Only consideration is to notify that there are tenants on property even though they donât share common areas. Not that thatâs a big deal. It was not obtrusive, but wouldâve been nice to know ahead of time.. otherwise outstanding experience would go back
I went for 3 nights with my 3 kids, ages 19, 22, 24. We all had a wonderful time. You can walk 1/3 of a mile to get to a nice beach and the location is perfect. You can hear the waves all day and night.
The house is big enough so everyone can have their own space if they want, indoors or outdoors.
One note: Soap and shampoo for showing is not provided.
We came down for my 50th birthday. There was comfortable sleeping for six, and plenty of space for relaxing together, or a quiet spot for everyone to have their own space. There was everything we could need for a fun weekend from the fire pits, beach towels, BBQ, and more. When we had a question, the property manager responded right away. Canât say enough good about our stay. If youâre looking to stay in Oceanside and this place is available, BOOK IT.
We just had a sister get together week at this lovely house. I am so glad I found it. We loved having coffee in the mornings on the front porch listening to the ocean waves while taking in the views. I especially loved the quaint northern french village architecture of this area and it feels very peaceful and safe there. While the upstairs is sealed off and rented out separately the ground level is very spacious. The roomy tiled shower had great water pressure and there is also a nice deep tub for evening soaks. Each of us each had our own bathroom for getting ready to go out etc. There is no AC but usually a nice breeze comes through to keep it pretty comfortable. We enjoyed the back patio as well for a nice family BBQ and sâmores with the fire pit. Cheryl is great and responded to all my questions questions quickly. Being an older house, some of the windows were difficult to open and close and the cleaning could have been a little more thorough. There is no âbeachâ nearby as the water comes right up to the rocks bordering the oceanfront houses but buccaneer and Carlsbad beaches are a very short drive. I hope to come back to this place again soon for a longer stay as we hated to leave.
The house is cute, and the front porch fire is great. The kitchen is updated and large, but some things detract from the stay.
The house and the cottage in the back make up three different units on the same property. The rental is on the main floor of the two-story house. We didn't see much of anyone else, but it doesn't feel like a private getaway if that's what you want. Didn't use the back patio at all for that reason.
The beach access is not right across the street; it's down the street a walk one way or the other, so hard to pack your beach stuff down. We just drove up Pacific most days and parked at the public beach.
Cleanliness could be improved. We found hairs in the beds, and the checkout asks you to leave the bedding on the beds, so it seemed like they may be cutting corners. We washed the sheets before sleeping in them. The bedding is threadbare so we double-sheeted the beds. The walls near the toilets could use a washing as well. Some previous guests had bad aims. Just doesn't seem like they have a good cleaning process and checks in place. Again we didn't spend much time there anyway, so close to the beach, but you want to feel like it's clean. Also, stock a plunger.
These things could be fixed.
The house was pretty much as described. I also read many reviews beforehand so I knew what I was getting.
First the Cons:
Doors and window locks were rusted; many were difficult if not impossible to open, close or lock. I was never certain if the house was secure.
The furniture and living spaces need a facelift. They're aging and tired.
While the ocean is indeed across the street, there is no beach; only stacked boulders with no place to sit or lay on sand.
The guest showerhead needs replacing as do most of the fixtures which are pitted and rusted from the salt sea air.
The beds were acceptable but not the greatest.
The spray hose in the kitchen sink did not work.
The wine cooler in the island bar was not connected. The side burner on the grill was inoperable.
Foot traffic on the front walkway, (runners, walkers), in the morning were noisy.
Inconvenient street access and parking. The best way to unload is through the garage.
We weren't thrilled about having a tenant in the guest house above the garage and I'm sure she wasn't thrilled we were there either.
The Pros:
Spacious and open floorplan including a large kitchen and island bar.
Firepits front and back were fun, cozy and useful.
You can hear the ocean waves from the front bedroom and living room.
Plenty of towels along with a washer and drier in the garage.
Overall, a decent property but less than average in comparison to several others we have stayed in.
Good communication with property manager.
My girlfriends and I were participating in the Ironman 70.3. If I realized how truly remarkable this location was, I would have stayed the entire week (which is our plan for next year!)
Our race ran right through the street in front of the house, which would have been so cool to have friends and husbands cheer us on from!
The house is so charming, with comfortable beds and exceptional hosting capabilities. Though we did not use the house to the full capacity, the backyard was absolutely adorable and the front veranda was perfect for winding down, watching the sunset and listening to the soothing crash of ocean waves.
I would stay here again, in a heartbeat.
This location was perfect for the family event we were in town for. Nice open kitchen and large dining table were utilized well. This property was close to all the fun Oceanside activities and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay here.
