This rental was very clean and comfortable with a great view of Seattle. It was close to everything we wanted to do, and in a very safe neighborhood. We totally enjoyed our stay.
Great view of Seattle across Puget Sound. Manchester is a nice quiet town. Stores and restaurants are about ten minutes away. This place is set up well with everything you need in the kitchen and bedroom. A pleasant stay overall.
We loved our stay at Hemlock Hideaway. The apartment is wonderfully appointed with attention to the littlest detail. It was very comfortable and cozy and felt like home. The hosts were friendly and easy to communicate with. We also loved the beautiful and quiet Manchester area. It is in a great location wether you are heading to Mt. Rainer, Seattle, Poulsbo etc. We would definitely stay here again!
Clean, comfortable, convenient, and well-provisioned apartment in Manchester ...
My daughter and I stayed at this property for three nights. It was easily located using Google Maps, and the covered parking was quite convenient when it rained. We found it to be very clean and comfortable. It did not seem to be a "rental property" but a well-provisioned apartment. The view of Seattle across the sound was really nice, especially at dusk.
We left a piece of luggage behind, we call Dawn and she was kind enough to reset the door lock so we could get back in to retrieve our missing luggage.
Traveling away from home for the first time at Christmas, and Dawn made sure every detail was in place so weâd feel right at home! Walked in to see a beautiful Christmas tree and Christmas decor throughout , along with a homemade plate of Christmas cookies! Every detail was perfect! We have family in Port Orchard, so when we come again, this is where weâll stay! The view is spectacular! Look no further, this is where you need to stay!
The apartment was pleasant. Full sized refrigerator and kitchen well stocked with spices and pots etc. Parking excellent and ok views from the apartment. Fabulous views from the upper deck. Grill on the deck was great.
Had issues with the owner's two dogs - lots of barking and husband was rushed and bitten in the hand with blood drawn. Landing at the top of the has sunk and is not level - a falling hazard - needs repair. The baby gate at the top of the stairs is broken. Difficult with food or drinks to access the deck.
Last, the unit does NOT have a washer or dryer. They are in the owner's garage.
Great location. A bit cozy but all the space needed for us. The apartment was clean and comfortable for time with my spouse and then my brothers. Full size refrigerator and stove, dishwasher, nicely stocked with basic supplies. It stayed cool as it was underneath the main house. View from the unit was very good, and spectacular from the deck. Highly recommended. Enjoyed watching a pair of deer grazing in the yard. Quick walk down to the Manchester Pub, which was a very friendly place. A note...if you pull up Waze on the Bremerton Ferry as you come into Bremerton, it will show a ridiculously short distance to the unit, as it's across from Bremerton. This only is this short if you had an amphibious car. It's about 35 minutes from the ferry dock to the unit by car. Would recommend the Southworth/Fauntleroy ferry if you can...far shorter. Also, really quick to take the Annapolis foot ferry or the Port Orchard foot ferry to the Bremerton ferry dock (Anthony's had a wonderful happy hour). Annapolis ends service around 5:47, but we found Uber was easy to get us from the Port Orchard dock to the Annapolis dock if we ran late. Way easier than driving, and a lot more fun. Manchester State park was terrific; buy a Discovery pass if you're going more than twice. All in all, we'd be back in a heartbeat. If you're planning on going to Seattle, it's definitely a journey....plan at least 90 minutes to two hours to get from the unit to downtown Seattle via Bremerton ferry (or driving).
Overall, this is a very nice place to stay. We enjoyed our month there. We had a very nice view of Puget Sound and the ships that anchored just off the shore. The shipping traffic we hoped to see was across the sound close to Seatle and required binoculars to see. We had some noise issues as our apartment was below the host. We also had a repair issues with the dish washer and front screen door. We would recommend this to others who would like to be close to the sound and relatively close to Seatle and surburbs.
With views of Puget Sound, and a 5-minute drive to the Southworth Ferry, this was the perfect place to spend some time in the Pacific Northwest. It was very clean, kitchen was well equipped, bed was comfortable and the hosts were friendly and accommodating. We explored Seattle, Gig Harbor, Olympic National Park, as well as the nearby hamlets of Port Orchard and Manchester.
Awesome, just as expected. The owners were excellent, and very helpful with our constantly changing schedule. (Our son I in the navy and his work/ leave schedule changed a few times). We would definitely stay there again.
Wonderful.
I am so grateful to Dawn and Bret for their hospitality. They are warm and gracious. The apartment was cozy - and just perfect for my dog and me. Manchester is a quaint little town and I enjoyed my walks to the pier and around the neighborhood. I work a lot so I needed reliable Internet - was great here. Thanks again Dawn and Bret for everything :)
We enjoyed our stay at this cozy bungalow in Manchester. Getting into and parking is a breeze. The decor is very warm and inviting, Bret and Dawn are always available, gracious hosts and the view is the icing on the cake!!! Dawn sanitized every nook and cranny, so we had no worries with the COVID 19 outbreak. This place has it all!!! Thanks Dawn and Bret!!
My wife and I absolutely loved our five night stay at the Hemlock Hideaway. The owners were gracious with information and the location is a great hopping off point for tons of things to do on the peninsula. The apartment in this house is well kept, stocked with candy, coffee and all of the toiletries you may forget on a trip. And the view...my goodness....best view of Seattle ever! We would definitely stay again.
Everything you need here and more! Easy access, close to town, amazing view of Seattle, and very quiet neighborhood. Dawn is very welcoming and a great person to rent from, she even made an amazing rhubarb cobbler one morning and left us some :) Highly recommended.
I have been a nurse for 37 years. Currently a critical care nurse working in Heart and Vascular at our local Medical Center. My husband is a mason with our boys being third generation. We love to cook, travel, camp and play with our grandkids. Life is good especially in Port Orchard.
We clean per CDC Covid 19 recommendations. We bought our lovely house from a relative. It has been a lifelong goal to live in a house that had a view of the water when we retired. We are almost there.
We fell in love with the view of Seattle and the beautiful Puget Sound. The neighborhood is safe and friendly. People know their neighbors and help them out when needed. It is a great place to walk your dog or just hang out on the deck with an adult beverage sitting by the fire while taking in the view of Washington State ferries passing by as the sun casts it's glow like diamonds on the Emerald City skyline.
