Took our first family vacation with our daughter and dog and stayed here. It was a great experience from start to finish, Richie was an amazing host. The cabin was very clean, well put together and the view was so beautiful. Definitely would recommend and we will be back next year.
Perfect place to get to Mackinaw City in about 10 minutes. Would love to come back to enjoy the lake and cabin more. If you are looking for no frills and simple accommodations this cabin is perfect!
The cabin was less than inviting. Our neighbors had twi small dogs and one attacked my larger dog which made me keep him inside due to the no leash policy even though Michigan has a leash law. The lady next door decided to swim bottomless while my 10 yr old was fishing on dock. . Dogs constantly barking and coming into our space. .last day there 2 more dogs show uo so now 4 yapoing dogs and add in squeeky toys. We left a day early for peace of mind. Smelled of mildew and my son and myself never stopped coughing the while time.
It was exactly what me and my wife were looking for. We stayed here for our honeymoon and after all the wedding planning and chaos, this cabin was a perfect recharge station for us.
I booked 2 nights, but I wish I would've booked it longer. It was peaceful and a nice change of pace for us. We are planning on making it a yearly tradition going forward.
We rented this property to be near Mackinaw City for the Labor Day Bridge Walk. It was perfect!
The cabin is rustic and quaint. Certainly wish we would have been able to stay longer! Property owner was very welcoming! Steps from the lake - beautiful sunset!
Enjoyed two nights with my husband and oldest daughter for a little getaway. Beautiful location, comfortable cabin, basic but good amenities, cabin decor, simple, but pleasant. Served its purpose for us very well and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a camping lifestyle without staying in an actual camper, but rather a cabin.
This place always feels like home. I have been back to this place again and again for the last 4 years. From family trips to friend get always. It is clean, friendly, spacious and peaceful The management is pleasant to work with.
Looks like there were some upgrades since the last time we stayed, made it so much more comfortable! The only complaint is the gas fireplace rattled like crazy every time it kicked on, it was super loud. Didnât ruin the weekend and we look forward to the next visit!
Great location in close proximity to many things to do. The cabin was perfect and as described. Ah the basics you need are there, but I would recommend being the things the owner recommends. We would definitely stay again should we ever be in the area again. The pet policy is excellent also. Traveling with a giant breed has it's challenges and it was great we were able to bring both our dogs.
My husband and I booked 5 nights at the cabin. During the first night there was a storm that knocked out power the next day. We stayed hoping it would come back on but then also lost water in the cabin as well. There was no resolution offered nor communication about the situation. Weâre left after the second night. Highly dissatisfied.
Born and raised in Northern Michigan, Iâve worked with the special needs community for over 30 years. By recently purchasing a little 7 cabin lakefront resort, I was able to transition my career to incorporate my love for camping, outdoor activity, and local history in a way I can share with others. I offer vacation rentals of vintage rustic lakeside cabins that were established in 1929. I welcome guests who love the camping experience while venturing to the Mackinac area historic sites, adventurers who come to enjoy outdoor activities, or those who are simply here to relax and enjoy the areaâs natural beauty.
I fell in love with this property because it encompasses the style of vintage cabins from days gone by, back when times were simpler. The cabins offer the nostalgic feel of the camping experience I remember enjoying as a child.
Cabin #7 - "Waugoshance" A hybrid word, combining the Anishinaabemowin word wah'goosh (fox) and the French word anse (cove). This 2 bedroom, 528 sq ft cabin is named after a nearby peninsula off the northwest coast of Michigan's lower peninsula.
