Historical building charm with complete updates in downtown Cheboygan!
A historical building in downtown Cheboygan with all the modern updates. Views of the Cheboygan river and a one minute walk from downtown shopping and eating. Beautiful Lake Huron is only a 5 minute walk away. Trailheads for biking, walking and snowmobiling a few blocks away! Area ski mountains- a 40 minute drive! Two bedrooms and one bath with full kitchen and washer and dryer. Please note that the property is on the second floor; meaning there is one flight of stairs to ascend.
Nice little apartment. Very clean and conveniently located to walk to restaurants and downtown area. This worked out perfectly for our family. The only fault I can report would be that the kitchen is not adequately supplied for cooking.
Amazing spot in a great location! Right off downtown with parking and made our stay in Cheboygan such a great weekend! Very easy communication with the owners who were very accommodating!
Wonderful place to stay as part of our 40th high school reunion. Such a great remodel of this building space. Cheboygan in general is a gem once again.
We had a great time in this place. The location is great and the place was easy to find. Just the noise and shaking bothered us a little when a vehicle passes by the bridge.
This property was perfect for the four of us. It was in a great location for us to visit 12 state parks in Michigan and Canada. The box fans were great tuning out the traffic out front.
My only suggestion would be to have some Tupperware for leftovers.
I loved the little apartment but there were no salt and pepper or sugar. No storage space but left charlcoal and a cooler. Nice furniture and grat location!

Wonderful modern, clean and well provisioned apartment, everything you need as a base for exploring Cheboygan and the surrounding areas, or for a relaxing and quiet getaway! Kitchen and utensils well stocked if you just wish to "cook at home" during your stay, with a large fridge/freezer, and clean and spacious kitchen. Apartment is modern yet cozy, clean, and equipped with everything you need for a trip at a home away from home. Would stay here again, and highly recommend!
We truly enjoyed this rental! The location is great and the home was very comfortable. Everything was clean upon arrival and we appreciated the brochures, magazines, and menus for local restaurants and events. There is street noise so be prepared. The owner supplied 2 box fans and we brought our noise machines, which helped a bit.
We enjoyed the walkability to explore downtown Cheboygan and riding our bikes down to Topinabee on the nearby bike trail. It would have been nice to have a chair and second beside table in the bedroom. A reading lamp in the living room would also be great.
Be sure to bring your own seasonings, cooking oil, etc., as well as your own shampoo.
Nice, clean layout however would have liked another bedside table. Also bathroom toiletries such as soap were expected. The location was convenient but the noise of traffic going across the bridge all the time was disturbing.
The unit was super nice and recently redone or completed. We had a very nice time and after the first night felt very relaxed in the room. A couple things if you plan to visit there are no toiletries and there was only enough coffee for 1 morning. The kitchen was well stocked after we figured out there were still dishes from the last guests in the dishwasher. The location was as described, right down on a main road just a block from Main Street and lots of food choices and shopping. The only thing I do not remember seeing in the other reviews or description was the draw bridge essentially attached to the building. Every time it opened or a larger vehicle crossed the short bridge the whole building shook. So the first night getting use to the road noise and shaking was a little rough. The parking is off the street which is nice. There is a narrow staircase leading up to the unit. It was probably just the time of the year but the stairwell and the salon window at the base of the stairs was filled with spiders and their webs.
Les points faibles : Communication et exactitude de lâannonce
Unprofessional
Apartment was great other than the entire building shaking when a truck drove past. Reviews stating âquick responseâ from the owners are completely untrue. We had a bat outside the door and the owner didnât respond for 5 hours. We also attempted to rent this place again for next yearâŠall of the prices listed for next year are âincorrect feesâ againâŠand after 11 days of waiting on a response I was told that her phone had dropped into the lake and was âdrying in a bucket of riceââŠit doesnât take 11 days to dry out a cell phone. On top of that, all of my information and messages are on this appâŠshe could have found a phone to use. We wonât be back due to the ownerâs lack of communication and just plain lack of respect for tenants.
Positives: The apartment was impeccably clean and everything was updated. The beds and furniture were comfortable and the bathroom is an appropriate size, but really for only one person at a time. It is located over a salon, but we couldn't smell any of the chemicals from the salon. The area around the building is clean and well-kept. Parking is plentiful behind the building. There's a TV with streaming services as well as a collection of DVDs and a couple board games. The kitchen is well-stocked.
Negatives: The building is near a drawbridge, so sometimes traffic was backed up in front of the building, but the drawbridge process was pretty efficient. When heavy trucks went by, the building shook. This was a little disturbing because, at some point, that has to have an impact on the structure. The showerhead was really basic and could use an upgrade. (This is a minor thing, bit worth noting.) The toilet has a pressure-assisted flushing system which is sort of like what you find on airplanes. It didn't always work well, but we finally figured out that if you hold down the lever while flushing, it cleared most of the bowl's contents.
Positive/Negative: Cheboygan is a small town and there's not a lot to do there--which can be positive or negative depending on what you're looking for. We walked to restaurants, the movie theater, and shops. We also walked to a nearby trail, went to Mackinac Island (the port is about 30 minutes away), and drove to Petoskey.
