This is an amazing place. Quit sandy beach with a fantastic view of Mt Baker. Sheltered from the wind. If you are looking for a cabin on the beach this, is it. Definitely want to go back again.
We LOVE staying here! You canât beat the location, and the house has everything you need! Very cozy, and inviting! We will definitely be coming back!
We cannot say enough about the host of the Long Point Beach House. He is a very kind man. The home is situated on one of the best beaches on Whidbey Island. Great for walking your dogs, kids or just sitting watching the wildlife. We have rented from Chris now for probably about 10 times between our families. Most of our time was spent enjoying the beach the wonderful kitchen for Gathering and just relaxing on the deck. The home is located in the area, where you could even walk to Coupeville if you wanted. They're beautiful deer within the countryside. We also had a lot of fires during our stay, as there is a beautiful fireplace and mantle to sit and just enjoy. It was fun to watch people dig for clams on the beach for a few days, and watch the seals chase the fish. It's always hard when it comes time to leave the house and return to Seattle. But we already have reservations in October. Thank you Chris Judd for the wonderful stay as always!Margaret and Lance/Family
This was the perfect spot for my spouse, myself, my mother-in-law, two teens, and our dog. We had everything we needed, loved the beach access, and it was easy to get places from there.
We have stayed at Long Point Cabin about 6 times. My daughter, and her husband have it,as well. Couldnt ask for more. Location, beach, cabin and amentieties are unbelievable. Chris, the owner is one of the nicest people ever. Always sad when we have to pack up and leave. Wonderfulbplace to make family memories. Thank you Chris!
We stay at 3 - 4 properties on Whidbey each year but this is our favorite spot! The Lincoln log style cabin is so charming, the furnishings are very comfortable and the location can't be beat. We've made it a yearly tradition to spend my husband's birthday here and we've taught our children the basics of boating safety with the double kayaks. Fabulous place!!!!
A quintessential beach front cabin perfect for lazing around, fireside games, a cozy corner to get lost in a novel⊠all the kitchen amenities you could ask for. Beds are wonderful. Just a perfect stay.
The house has everything you need to enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings. Close to Front Street and the sculpture garden and well equipped with bedding, towels, kitchen things, and even boats. We have been more than once and will be back next year!
Location couldn't be better! We enjoyed the rowboat, firepit, and the bald eagle watching. Just a quick drive to Coupeville, yet a quiet neighborhood. Our party included four adults and two kids, and there was plenty of room for all. Good communication with Chris, the host, too. The view is mesmerizing!
Loved the cozy cabin and especially the beachfront location. Our daily beach walks were rejuvenating and our dogs loved the freedom of safely running up and down the beach.
The few downsides: Penn Cove is in the Navy jet training flight path. They didnât fly every day but when they did it was very loud. Also, vacuuming up the dust bunnies and under the beds could have been better. That being said the bathroom was very clean. It is an older well loved cabin that families would feel very comfortable for a fun vacation.
I was pretty nervous as we headed out to Whidbey, after dragging my family from across the country, but the house couldn't have been more perfect! Right on the water, we were able to watch gorgeous sunrises, keep an eye on the herons, porpoises, and seals, and take in Mt Baker! I've never seen a more thoroughly outfitted kitchen (food processors, griddle, waffle iron, coffee grinder, crock pot, the list goes on!). Coupeville is a really cute little town with really friendly people. It was a quick drive from the house and we even walked into town one day. The arrangement of the house made it easy for all 7 of us to spread out and not feel like we were on top of each other. I'd recommend the house to anyone looking to host a crowd!
This cabin is larger than it looks and has the rustic smell of a wood fire!! The location is wonderful and sunrises with fog drifting among the islands were mystical. I stayed with 3 girlfriends for 2 nights and after they left my husband, daughter and two granddaughters arrived. The girls were so excited to be ON the beach. As the tide went out we followed it and discovered huge beds of sanddollars (please do not pick them up). Lunches 15 minutes away in Coupeville were luscious. We suggest Front Street Grill for amazing mussels and Cafe Langley in Langley is a perfect place to eat as you get off the ferry. Thank you, Jayne, for a perfect little slice of heaven. Oh and grab some pie at Greenbank Farms!!!
Stayed three nights with friends. We were thrilled with this charming cabin and the location. The cabin has everything you might need. Itâs right on the beach with an awesome view of Mount Baker. Lots of parking space, close to town. 4 bedrooms, one with bunks, one full bath, one 1/2 bathroom. It was hot when we stayed and we were grateful for the A/C unit. It made a difference. Know before you go: the lighting inside in the evenings is lovely and not too bright, so if you plan to read (or paint, like us) bring a book light or a brighter light source. The bunk bed room is pretty small with very little space and no light for the bottom bunk. Those comments are for planning purposes only. Our host was responsive and and check in couldnât be easier and the beach was divine. Highly recommend this cabin!
The garbage was left on the porch upon our arrival. There was an overwhelming Oder of shellfish. The outside deck with Sandy and dirty. The light fixtures were dusty and dirty. The woodburning stove had ashes all over it. The refrigerator also reeked of shellfish as did the garbage can in the kitchen. I got a face towel out of the linen closet and it was full of black spots. Beyond disgusting. The house itself is full of dusty clutter. Would never recommend renting this house
This wonderfully cozy cabin literally has it all. I was blown away when I walked in the front door and saw the huge living room. The pictures on the VRBO site make the space seem smaller than it actually is, so that was a great surprise.
Hereâs the reality: this property is nearly 60 years old, and itâs clearly used and loved. The cabin just exudes warmth, comfort and fun. We had a couple of friends from Canada join us for a couple of days, and the gathering places both inside and out were perfect.
Were there any spiderwebs? Sure, a few. I would have been shocked if there hadnât been anyâŠ..it is after all, a cabin on the beach!
The owner was very communicative and timely with his answers to a few questions Iâd had.
If you are looking for a delightful place to unwind or gather friends for a celebration, this is a perfect spot. We had hard rain for the first couple of days, and sitting by a crackling fire with a book was pure magic.
The beds and linens were all so comfortable; I donât think Iâve ever slept in a more comfortable King. Itâs lush and warm, perfect for the cold nights we had.
I do agree with other comments about the lack of places to put away your clothes. Iâm the type who likes to unpack when I go to places like this cabin; otherwise I just donât feel settled in. I think it would be really easy and nice for the owners to consolidate some of their linens and such, and provide at least a drawer or two for guests to put their things. We hope to go back, SOON!
My adult kids and I stayed in this wonderful cabin. We watched Orcas, herons, quail, gulls, killdeer and more. The cabin is charming. The location, ideal. So quiet but an easy drive to Coupeville. We enjoyed beach fires and just hanging in the cabin with a fire and backgammon. The kitchen is so well supplied. We all hope to return.
My sister and I had lovely time at the Beach Cabin. It's a nice beach front cabin with a great view of Penn Cove. In a quiet neighborhood, it's the perfect place to be on the beach while still being an easy drive to other places on Whidbey Island.
We really enjoyed our stay at Long Point Beach Cabin! Great location, lots of nice amenities, and Chris was great about reaching out beforehand with all the details we would need. We stayed for 3 nights and wished it could have been more!
My family and a friend stayed at this cabin to wrap up my maternity leave before I head back to work. We were a small group and it was a beautiful weekend. We enjoyed walking on the beach and my sister particularly enjoyed hanging out in the hammock in front of the water. We did hear the planes from the base fly over on Thursday and were nervous that would interrupt our stay, but there were no disturbances through the weekend. The sunrises over the water were breathtaking and the fact that the cabin is less than 10 minutes away from downtown Coupeville canât be beat. My friends and I stay in VRBO properties a lot and we really appreciated that this cabin actually seems to be utilized by the host, rather than owned purely as an investment property. You can tell the difference in the quality of the kitchen supplies and the overall comfortability in the furniture. Having an infant with us, we really appreciated the blackout blinds in each room that helped with nap times. Communication with the host was easy. Overall, we would definitely recommend this cabin.
