Charming cottage with the best view on the island. Waking up to the sunrise and the ocean in front of you is truly an unbelievable experience. Wonderful fishing, clamming, and beaches.

3 out of 5 stars is considered average, but it indicates to me that a renter was potentially disappointed or unhappy in some way concerning their experience with our cottage or with Prudence Island. I attempted to contact this renter to find out if there were any problems that may need to be addressed for future renters or what went into their decision for the 3 stars. I never received a response, so it will just remain unanswered. I try to find out if a potential renter has ever been to Prudence before as it is very different from most of your "typical" vacation spots. It is like a step back in time when everything was simpler and easy and that is the way owners of property on Prudence want it to remain. There is no commercialism, the cottages are simple and the beauty comes from nature and the people surrounding you. Some people have never experienced this type of vacation and don't really get it. There is no question, people either absolutely fall in love with Prudence or really dislike the nothing commercial to do simple atmosphere. There wasn't much communication prior to or after this renter's stay, so I can only assume they may be comparing what they experienced on Prudence Island to something quite different.

We love it here. You will not be staying at a 5-star hotel, but that’s the point. It is a well-loved summer home with so much history, the best view of the ocean, and a short walk to the beach. Bring some charcoal to grill on the hill, a towel for the outdoor shower, and just relax.

Beautiful view in a peaceful setting

Gorgeous view! So peaceful. Perfect setting for pictures and a lovely walk to the lighthouse. All amenities provided. We enjoyed our stay!

Goregeous views and cool breezes!

We loved our stay on Prudence Island and hope to come back and visit in the future. The weather was beautiful and we loved the nightly cool breezes. Everyone on Prudence Island were very friendly and always waved when we passed by. The cottage was perfect for my family and we enjoyed our stay very much.

A wonderful place

We had a wonderful time on Prudence Island! Cute and cozy cottage, great people, amazing view, great fishing, great clamming, awesome beaches, super relaxing and Elizabeth is a fantastic host...!!! Our first time on the Island and we would love to go back! Prudence is a very special place.

Perfect Getaway

Prudence is a perfect place to get away from it all. The house had beautiful views and is only a couple minutes walk to the beach. Elizabeth was very kind and responsive. I highly recommend this getaway to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation.

Everything I was hoping for

This was the best possible place to "get away from it all." The house was clean and comfortable, the view was spectacular, neighbors were friendly, and island life was peaceful and restful.

Perfect Getaway

I loved the place so much I came back for a 2nd year. Elizabeth is great to work with and very accommodating. Prudence is a great place to getaway and relax. There are some great beaches where you don't have to worry about crowds and tons of fun hikes.

Great get away

Elizabeth’s property is exactly what you would expect for a house on prudence island. It is quaint, with all the amenities you need. I noticed some nice improvements such as new paint and fixtures that made it even more comfortable than last year. Awesome location overlooking the bay and plan to return next year.

House on the Hill was just perfect

We had a fantastic and peaceful time at the cottage. The view and ocean breeze was beautiful. Very nice little cottage with a well equipped kitchen. Loved the outdoor shower too. Great to rinse the salt off before coming in from the beach. We will very likely try to come here again and would recommend to anyone who wanted a peaceful getaway.

Great stay

The cottage was very comfortable. Very friendly neighbors. Our first time on the island and we definitely want to come back. The cottage was clean and the view of the ocean amazing. Loved sitting in the yard looking over the ocean and having my prayer time. Best way to spend our 32nd anniversary amidst Covid

Quaint little house with great view

It is a nice little house with a great view of the bay, small but quaint. Has necessary amenities, clothes washer and dryer and a decent fridge. It is up on hill which is a little work to bring in your supplies but it is worth the effort.
