The villa was lovely, clean & had everything we needed.
Location of villa is perfect if you love the beach. However, it is very close to the local nightclub & the music can be heard in the villa going on into the late hours. This didn't spoil our holiday as our kids are no longer babies. We benefited from doing an online shop as the nearest shop is about 20 min walk.
This beachfront villa is in a fantastic position for all the amenities in and around Val Do Lobo. The only reason I have not given a full 5 stars (I would have put 4.5 stars but not possible) is that for us personally it was a bit noisier than expected and the bed in the main bedroom is quite uncomfortable so did not get the greatest sleep.
On the plus side our grandchildren made great use of the swimming pool and we were provided with towels for bathroom and pool. We have made great memories to take home with us.The pool was cleaned twice whilst we were staying which was a really good service.
Fernando was really good at communicating with us and was very helpful.
So if there is a way you can add another half a star to make it 4.5 this would be good.
Thank you Fernando.
We had a super family holiday (2 adults and 2 teenage children)
As the advertisement says/warns - if you're wanting in the high season to sit by the beach and read a book and go to bed early and listen to the crickets/secadas 'sing' in the night then this NOT the place for you!
However if you're looking for a super beach, cafes, restaurants and a vibrant upmarket location, all on your 'doorstep', then this is very much the place to go.........we particularly enjoyed walking out the back gate and in one footstep being on the beach.
The beaches were impeccably clean and safe and the water was warm...yes there is music in the background, but we knew that before we came and we enjoyed the party/holiday atmosphere.
When we came 'home' after lunch for a siesta we just closed the doubled glazed doors and blinds and put the aircon on and you could barely hear anything :-)
We also noted a previous comment about the beds ......we found them to be perfectly comfortable, but I did feel the owners could buy one of those 'mattress joiners' that makes putting two singles beds together much more comfortable ( I run a B&B in UK and I use them)
The house itself was fit for purpose, it's not 5* luxury ( more like decent 4*) but it's well presented and clearly we were paying for the location as much as the house itself. The owner told us during our stay that they were going to do some updates after summer - we could see the bathrooms had all just been renewed and they were very nice.
Local restaurants were fine but we had a car and explored a bit and found some good restaurants along the coast. We got a taxi and uber a couple of times which was not expensive
If you're not hiring a car just be aware the supermarket at the entrance of the estate is about 15 minutes walk so if you're on foot best to go early morning or in the evening when it's a hot day.
We really enjoyed Vale do Lobo - it's quite upmarket and there was a nice profile of people there - our teenagers where made to feel very welcome and there was a nice mix of nationalities there - not all JUST Brits and no 'riff-raff'!
We are definitely planning to come back - special thanks to Fernando for all his help before and during the trip and to the housekeeper Susana.
No double beds, beds very uncomfortable, the nightclub goes on day and night Nice people nice outsi
No double beds, very uncomfortable beds and bedding, nice outside area, Music 18 hours a day outside, have to keep the door closed if you want a quiet time, same music all the time, no view from the pool, very nice house , Does need new kitchen equipment and smartening up the price.
What a wonderful location - im not sure if we could get any closer to the beach!
we are a family of 2 adults gran and grandpa and 2 children 9 and 7
The villa was nicely presented and the welcome pack was a nice touch
the area itself is very upmarket and well looked after
the local restaurants and bars were great and even our fussy kids enjoyed the food - the supermarket was a good 15 minute walk so a car is perhaps a good idea - which we had and did a couple of trips to 'slide & splash' and 'zoo marine'
There is ( as per the property description) amongst the local plaza of restaurants and cafes a late night bar dance area - we could hear it in the background so if you're a very light sleeper you might need to consider a quieter location. it didnt disturb us much and one night we went along and joined in until 00:30 and it was nice to young and old dancing and having fun - not like at home in the UK when its often drunken behaviour - this was actually a really nice holiday atmosphere and we felt very comfortable
thanks to susana and feranando for their great service - especially when accidentally broke the sun brolly - the brought a new one the same day!
would definitely return
What a wonderful stay and superb location
we were 2 families on a 4 week trip to Portugal - we spent time in the Algarve and also tried the North
we had a week here in vale do lobo and we were even more amazed by the proximity to the beach - its even closer than the video suggests!
nice cafes and restaurants right next door
vale de lobo itself is a very well maintained area - lovely communal spaces and tended gardens etc
if you love access to the beach and enjoy local nightlife without the need for a car then its ideal
