Perfect location, extremely convenient for the ski slopes, ski hire, shops, restaurants and Flaine Forum. Great information from the host and really helpful property manager who went above and beyond. A fantastic holiday
We loved how close the slopes were - after swinging by the 2 ski lockers in the basement and heading out the back door it is just a minute walk to the Grand Vans lift or quick ski down to the Forum area. On foot, everything is also easily accessed. There are restaurants and a shopping centre with supermarket/bakery/deli on the same road, or Flaine Forum with lots more options is just a short ride down in the orange lift across the road. The beds were very comfortable and the 2 bathrooms plus separate toilet felt like a luxury. The kitchen was equipped well enough for us to cook meals a few evenings, and we really appreciated the dishwasher.
The location of the apartment was fantastic - as close to ski in/out as weâve had - with restaurants, bars and a ski hire shop pretty much on the ground floor, and the bakers and supermarket a couple of minutes walk away. The apartment owner, Jill, was super helpful with tips and advice before and during our stay. The apartment is a great size - there were only 3 of us - but definitely still comfortable for 4 or more. It has pretty much everything you need (bring a dish towel!) and the beds were deceptively comfortable.Flaine itself is a tremendous ski resort - we didnât make it to the pool but did have a fun evening at the bowling and games arcade. Even in the Scottish/Irish/French mid-term the whole resort didnât feel too busy and itâs got lots of lovely eateries and some really brilliant slopes. Weâd definitely go back again!
We had a brilliant stay. The apartment is a really comfortable for 4 (travelling with my husband and two teenagers), well equipped with everything we needed and comfy beds. The location is really handy for the slopes and bars/restaurants in Flaine Foret and Flaine Forum.
Excellent value for money. Plenty of room (and storage) for our family of 2 adults and 3 teenagers. Beds comfortable, accommodation clean. Jill was helpful with our queries before we travelled. Great location for the slopes (max.5 min walk to the lifts, if that) and for all the other amenities of Flaine. Overall a good choice for family ski.
We are a family of five, Jill, James and three children Claire, Tom and Louise. All the children have learnt to ski at Flaine. We have used many of the resort facilities from the crĂšche (Louise was 12 weeks when she first went to Flaine), all the children group ski lessons (Tom achieved diamond level this year with Louise hot on his heals with gold), freestyle group and adult lessons - for me! James has skied for many years with the ski club of Great Britain which had a representive based at Flaine. We have been to Flaine predominately for family holidays but we have also managed a few 'adult only' long weekends. Due to the close proximity of Flaine to Geneva ( approx. 1hr) it is possible to get an early flight and be skiing in the afternoon. Despite visiting Flaine for over 12 years we still love the slopes, no year is ever the same. The snow record is great, the variety of slopes is good, the queues are generally limited and for me there is no nasty icy 'last run home'!
