We really enjoyed our stay. It was the perfect home base for exploring Acadia. Everything was as described. We were pleasantly surprised to find plenty of food storage containers and cooking supplies.
I really cannot say enough about this home and its location. My family of 4 (2 adults, 2 youths) and our two dogs (windsprites) spent a week in the house and were so sad to leave! The space was perfect- 3 good sized bedrooms, 2 full baths and a large open common area with kitchen, dining, and living spaces. We could not find the key initially, but the owner was very responsive on the Vrbo chat and let us know where it was. We were a short walk to an amazing public beach (Seal Harbor) and a short drive from all of the amazing peaks in Acadia - we hiked 4 of them during our stay including the iconic Cadillac Mountain. The house is also an easy drive to Bar Harbor for lots of great restaurant options. I really cannot say enough about this property and its location. It is in a quiet neighborhood too - do not hesitate you cannot beat this property!
Terrific house in an ideal location for exploring Acadia National Park and surrounding area. The home was beautiful and light filled and had everything that we needed. We would definitely stay here again!
What a home! Comfortable and cozy and super clean, with everything you need. Itâs away from the hubbub of Bar Harbor but only takes 10 minutes to get there or NE area. Wonderful hikes are also so close, and can walk down to seal harbor beach or the cute little block of town.
Great location with easy access to Acadia National Park. Easy drive into Bar Harbor. The house was well equipped, Wi-Fi was excellent and the open layout of the house worked well for us. The owner was very responsive. Would definitely stay at Hidden House ll again.
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Hidden House II. The space worked well for me, my daughter and our dog, and we were close to many Acadia hikes throughout Mount Desert Island. As one of the other reviewers mentioned, it was the best home base. We would gladly return.
Spacious and Close to Both Bar Harbor and Southwest Harbor
We enjoyed our stay at this Seal Harbor rental. The kitchen had everything we needed. The open floor plan was spacious with a large dining table and plenty of couch seating. We loved that we could get to our favorite hikes in any direction in 20 or so minutes. In the evening we had great stargazing right on the property.
If you want to be close to everything but avoid the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor, stay here. We were 15 minutes from Bar Harbor and 5 minutes from entrance to Acadia. The backyard is a quiet little oasis. The House is a little older, but no issues. It was clean and well kept. Highly recommend!
This is a lovely house in a very convenient location away from the bustle by close to so much. Like others, we hesitate to let the secret out about this right-size home for our group of four adults. The well-equipped house is tucked away in the woods with modern appliances and pretty much everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The owners and caretaker were available and responsive when we had a minor issue upon our arrival. We will plan to return for future visits!
This is our third stay at Little Hidden House and for sure wonât be out last !
Everything is perfect and we love this area , the home and the owners !
My wife is better at putting things into words so if you stay here just read the guest book at the house .
We are already planing next year and we just got home tonight

Hidden House II is fantastic. The house is located in the woods in Seal Harbor within walking distance of Acadia National Park and itâs numerous trails and carriage roads. The house is well equipped, exceptionally maintained and private. My wife and I highly recommend Hidden House II.
A quiet house house on a hill surrounded by woods with an easy walk down to the harbor and ocean. Very close to the entrance to Acadia and hiking trails. The house was clean and had a nice outside patio eating area next to the woods. We couldn't figure out the TV, it had a Amazon Fire stick but no login info, and one of the beds was very soft, but otherwise the house was very nice and convenient.
David and Rosemary were a pleasure to rent from. It was a wonderful stay! Thank you!
Hidden House 2 is located in the woods in Seal
Harbor, Maine within walking distance of Seal Harbor beach and town and the entrance to Acadia National Park. My wife and I enjoy Hidden House 2 so much that this is our 4rd stay. The house is well equipped and immaculately clean. The owners are very responsive to any questions. Hidden House 2 is a great base for peace and quiet while visiting Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park. Staying here you feel you are staying in the park. It is beautiful and highly recommended.
This was a wonderful house. Unfortunately, my wife was having a bad reaction to a covid vaccine and spent a lot of time indoors -- and we couldn't have asked or a nicer place to do so.
All rooms were well appointed; kitchen was well stocked; and there were not only good books around but two reading chairs.
A beautiful place, light filled, comfortable. We'll be back.
Hidden House II is true to itâs wonderful description and high reviews. Nature surrounds you. The setting is a quiet haven away from the noise and crowds of Bar Harbor. And yet, the location is convenient to everything and close to Acadia National Park.
House is spacious, comfortable, exceptionally clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything youâll need & more. Heat on a chilly morning was easy to regulate. Research on the family history (father served a long term as one of Harvardâs most significant presidents) enriched our stay. Beautiful neighborhood with some steep, narrow roads.
Thank you, Rosemary & David, for an amazing 2 weeks. We absolutely loved it; and like other guests, hope to keep it a bit of a secret so we can return. Julie & Paul, Traverse City, MI
My husband and I live in Palo Alto, California for most of the year, but I have been spending part of each summer in Seal Harbor since I was a young girl. Now we go there to spend time with our children and grandchildren. It is the perfect spot for relaxed family time in a beautiful national park setting.
My father, who served as President of Harvard University for many years, built this house for my mother and himself to enjoy in their retirement years.
