Maison Haiku - votre porte d'entrée en Acadie

Maison lumineuse de 3 chambres et 2 salles de bain (6-7 personnes) avec des équipements modernes à quelques pas des sentiers du parc national d'Acadia et de la plage de Seal Harbor. La maison a une nouvelle grande pièce avec cheminée qui a été ajoutée en 2017-18. Photos mises à jour à venir. La chambre principale à l'étage a un lit queen et salle de bain principale avec une baignoire sur pattes. 2 chambres sont au premier étage. On a un lit queen size. La chambre des enfants a un double sur lit double et un lit gigogne. La salle de bain complète au premier étage a une baignoire / douche et laveuse et sécheuse. La cuisine est entièrement équipée avec lave-vaisselle, micro-ondes et grille-pain. Profitez du bain de soleil, de la terrasse extérieure et de la douche extérieure. Sont également inclus Internet wifi et téléphone local, haut-parleur avec station d'accueil pour iPod, fer à repasser, planche à repasser, sèche-cheveux, serviettes et linge de lit. La maison est idéalement située à Bar Harbor et Northeast Harbor, à 10 minutes en voiture dans les deux sens.

Nice property located steps from Acadia National Park

Very nice place with plenty of indoor and outdoor space for the family to hang out. Great location too, walking distance to seal harbor beach and just a short drive to Jordan Pond. Bar Harbor only 15 minutes away.

Perfect location, quiet & close to Acadia

This home was perfect for our family. We wanted to enjoy Acadia from a peaceful home base. Easy access to the park and the beautiful space to relax and enjoy dinner after hiking all day. Kitchen was well stocked and we were given great ideas for our daily adventures.

Great stay near Acadia

We really enjoyed our stay at the Haiku House. We had never been to the area and weren't sure where we wanted to be but we really appreciated the closeness to the south end of the Acadia and the ease of getting to other areas. Lots of space, well-appointed and just an overall lovely place.

Great Acadia location

Overall, we loved this property! The location can't be beat. It's super close to Acadia and an easy drive to Bar Harbor. There were six of us (two "real" adults and four college-aged adults) and we had plenty of room and were very comfortable in the house. The only negative was that the curtains let a lot of light in, so if you are somebody who wants to sleep in beyond the sunrise (like we hoped to) you are out of luck.

Beautiful house in the heart of Acadia

Haiku House is located in the heart of Acadia National Park. This offers incredible convenient to accessing the park via bike or carriage road, without having to deal with driving or parking. If you do need to drive, everything is quite close. The house itself is very nice. The location is very quiet. Would recommend.

Nice Location

Great location for hiking and access to Acadia National Park. House had a comfortable seating area to relax in. A few items to note that need to be improved on is the beds are extremely low to the ground and the mattress are very firm. No AC so upstairs does get pretty warm on warm days but does cool off if windows are left open in the evening. The biggest issue is the bedding and towels all smelled like they had been left in the washer overnight to a point where bedrooms smelled also.

Yes, the beds are low and the mattresses are on the firm side because it is an Asian home. But I do apologize for the smell of the bedding/towels which was due to the the fact that the washer/dryer were malfunctioning and wouldn't spin the laundry well. The washer and dryer have since been fixed since your stay. Thank you for your stay!

Holiday at Haiku House

Pros: amazing location; host provided garbage bags, toilet paper, some basic seasonings. Cons: clearly an investment property that is maintained at the least cost possible. No garbage disposal, or any faucet / shower head that worked functionally. My haiku for the overall vibe: Location was great / Cheap appointments, strange lay-out / Return soon elsewhere.

Seal Harbor Maine Home

My wife and I plus another couple stayed at Haiku House for three nights in October 2023. The home is beautifully furnished, comfortable, and clean. It has a full kitchen plus washer and drier. Plus it is located on a quiet street in about 1/2 mile from the sea at Seal Harbor and the Acadia National Forest. Bar Harbor is only about a 10 minute drive away. Would definitely stay there again if we get back to Seal Harbor with a group of 4. Check in/Check out was very smooth.

Location, location, location!

Haiku House was an ideal home for our family trip to Acadia. The location can’t be topped with its proximity to the park, stables for carriage rides, town and beach at Seal Harbor, and access to the roads to get you wherever you want to go. The home was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. We walked down to Seal Harbor several times (the way back is up a hill!). So much beauty right on your doorstep. Do be aware that the stairs to the upstairs room are quite steep. They were fine for most of the family members and the other two downstairs rooms and bathroom were easily accessible for all. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The house is decorated beautifully. The downstairs living room is quite comfortable. Everything was in excellent condition.Five of us stayed here. The Wi-Fi would work intermittently and never for all five of us.As the listing says, there is a phone but only for local calls. We could make calls only using What's App, not with our regular cell service. Please note that the upstairs bathroom is a tub only. Therefore, the five of us had to take quick showers, or someone hose down in the tub. The listing is accurate about this but it was still quite inconvenient.The upstairs bed is low to the floor, with a single, somewhat thin mattress on a wooden platform. Therefore, getting out of it was not particularly easy. The location is fine if you have a car; if not, it's a 20 minute walk to catch the free Island Express around Bar Harbor and Acadia NP. It's also a short walk to a sometimes-open coffee shop and to the beach.

Great stay

Beautiful home in a nice location that is close to a nearby beach (Seal Harbor) as well as an Acadia entrance. Also a huge plus as the home came with bikes (bring your own helmets) and very easy access to the carriage roads! About 10-15 minute drive into downtown Bar Harbor. The kitchen was beautifully stocked and the beds were quite comfortable. No central AC and during the day the upstairs bedroom warmed up quite a bit (large fan available) but always cooled off nicely for sleep and so I would not consider this a problem at all. There were two distinct conversation areas with separate TVs and this allowed for a nice separation of kid and adult time when needed. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend highly!

Haiku House Sept. 2021

This is a pretty house, very clean, beautiful artwork. The master bed is very low, just a side-note. It had all the needed amenities, upgraded kitchen, laundry room, convenient entry mudroom. Our favorite thing was the outdoor shower! And the invitation to write your own haiku in their guest book. My husband and I fully enjoyed Seal Harbor, Bar Harbor, and Acadia National Park.

Beautiful setting close to carriage roads

A lovely and stylish home, perfect for exploring Acadia. About 15-18 minutes to Bangor. You can walk to Jordan pond or rent bikes in Seal Harbor and bike there easily.

Great Size

The house was a great size for 6 adults, 1 toddler and 1 infant to interact comfortably. There is only 1 shower downstairs for guests, I wasn't able to depict this from the listing photos but it didn't cause any issue. The master has a claw foot tub which we didn't use, no shower. We stayed during a high-heat weather week and it was challenging to keep the house at a comfortable temperature without AC or ceiling fans. Overall the design of the house was attractive, the size was great and the location worked well for our stay.

Acadia Adventure

Great Location! We rented bikes from just down Jordan Pond road and bikes through the Carriage roads. We explored and did several great hikes. We enjoyed all of the books in the house library. Acadia is amazing. We would consider re-visiting again during the September fall season and staying at Haiku again!

Beautiful gateway to paradise

Haiku House provided an excellent location for easy access to the many harbors and trails of Mount Desert Island and NE Harbor. It was also the ideal destination for post-sight seeing relaxation in a lovely, spacious home.

Best Location on the Island

My husband and our friends recently stayed at Haiku House and it was wonderful. We've visited MDI multiple times, and Seal Harbor is our favorite - you truly cannot beat the location. It's extremely quiet, and you can be on the Park Loop Road in just a few minutes. The house was very well appointed. We had everything we needed (there were even coffee filters! dishwasher pods! spices! If you travel a lot, you know that is NOT always the case!) We enjoyed lounging on the comfortable couches after a long day of hiking, and I loved taking a super hot bath in the clawfoot tub in the evenings as well. The beds were great - comfortable, plenty of pillows, cotton sheets. They had lots of books and maps about Maine and Acadia which we found helpful - we were there for a quick visit so it was nice to not have to pack or purchase all of those things. We would stay here again with friends or when we return with our children. Thank you for such a memorable trip!

The house was very beautiful, comfortable and in impeccable condition. The area is very quiet and just a few minutes from the beach and Acadia. The owner is very responsive and attentive to every detail. Would definitely rent again.
