Pictures are deceiving.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Bear Creek Cabin was a little disappointing. It wasn’t the same experience we’ve had in other Elk Springs cabins. The cabin was musty and humid inside. Even though we had maintenance come out it never did cool down. As for the pet situation, let me just say it was not exactly ideal. We ended up having to purchase a turf rug for them to go potty because the cabin sits on a busy road. Thank goodness for the creek in front of the cabin because otherwise all you would hear is cars. With all that being said, we will stay with Elk Springs again just not in Bear Creek Cabin.
Réponse de VrboOwner le 31 août 2026
Thank you for your feedback and for choosing Elk Springs Resort again. We are terribly sorry to hear Bear Creek Cabin did not meet the expectations set by your previous stays. We apologize for the concerns with the cabins temperature, humidity, and location. Your comments have been shared with our management and maintenance teams for review. We truly appreciate your continued loyalty and look forward to welcoming you back to another Elk Springs cabin in the future.

Mildew and mice

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Spent four rough nights in mid-October here and were ready to evacuate. The HVAC system is in very bad shape. 86% humidity in house has created mildew/mold issues. There is a strong smell of mildew when you enter the cabin. The cabin is dark but we found mildew in many places including the cabinets. All dishes had to be washed before using. HVAC ducts were ungodly! Need a complete replacement. Sign on wall says max heat setting is 65 and lowest cool setting is 75. Note says "you will be held responsible" if you tinker with the system because the unit is known to freeze up. There was a large dehumidifier in the loft that was able to bring the humidity down to 65% but never any better. Each night there was incessant chewing and scratching noises from what we thought were mice. Thinking the noises were coming from below the cabin but could have been in the walls. Never saw droppings on the floors.Living room sofa and rug reeked of urine. Sat on it once and the smell got in my clothes. No one ever sat on sofas again.Cabin appears to be for sale. Maybe new owners can get this place more habitable?Hot tub was clean and enjoyable. Location was good but road noise was a problem at times.
Réponse de VrboOwner le 22 oct. 2026
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the concerns you experienced with the humidity, mildew odors, HVAC system, and possible pest activity during your stay. We also regret the issues with the living room furnishings and understand how these conditions affected your comfort. We are glad you enjoyed the hot tub and convenient location, but we recognize that these positives did not make up for the other concerns. Unfortunately, occasional sightings can occur despite regular pest control treatments shown in our rental agreement in section 18. Please know that we keep staff and pest control on hand to happily assist with any cabin issues during your stay 24/7. Your comments will be shared with our team for review and further evaluation. We appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention and are sorry your stay fell short of expectations. We truly hope to have a better opportunity to serve you.

Perfect Location

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Bear Creek cabin was the perfect location. Short drive into Gatlinburg and easy access to the national park. Loved the creek running in front of cabin and the solitude being in the woods. The batteries needed replaced in the door lock and management was quick to fix the problem. We saw two different bear cubs while staying there. My only complaint is not enough clothes storage in the first floor bedroom. Overall, very happy we stayed here.

Beer Creek Cabin

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was very clean and well maintained. The description was accurate regarding the location. The hot tub was not working when we arrived but we were notified the day before that it was broken. We did a lot of hiking in the Smokies taking photos of spring wildflowers. Enjoyed beer and pizza at Gatlinburg brewery and lunch at Smoky Mt Brewery. Also had a great breakfast at one of the pancake houses. Had a bear family visit us one day mom and 2 cubs on the deck wish was exciting to see. I would definitely recommend this cabin to friends and family and would stay here again next time I visit Gatlinburg.
