This cavernous house was just what we needed to be together and also retreat to privacy! We love the Heritage Woods area and this house was positioned in a great location. We have older kids, so the bike ride to beach access was manageable. We aren’t a“hang out at the beach all day” family, so we didn’t mind being farther away. The access to walking/bike paths was more important for us. We did have a minor plumbing issue in the first day, but it was attended to immediately by management and we got on with our stay with little interruption! Overall, a great week in this beautiful house!
The house was perfect for size of our family (7adults and 6 kids). Having 5 bedrooms afforded privacy for the adults and space for the kids. The pool was in constant use when were at the house and we felt the house was well located for everything we wanted to do.. We could not have had abetter time.
Never Again Use 5 Star Properties.
This Mothers Day was bitter sweet. I am from South Carolina.. Hilton Head and came home to treat my family to a great weekend. I have rented in Sea Pines before. I have always booked through Sea Pines. Never used VRBO or 5 Star Properties, which is who I booked through. My family arrived to the home and the home was dirty. Unmade beds, dust and crumbs. Full trash, bathrooms were not touched. Pool was full of leaves. Patio furniture was still half covered and others full of leaves and debris. The receptionist lied and said there was a storm the night before. My family lives here. No storm. We recieved wrong info for gate pass pickup. Answering service was prompt about responding to us. Offered to pay for dinner in exchange for poor home Friday night and comp our stay elsewhere. I asked for a refund to remove the entire situation as I had 8 family members to move. They refused n said allow them to fix. They sent cleaners out at 830pm vs 10am the next day. Good. Owner agreed to come by. We wanted him to see the house with his own eyes. He never showed up. Pool guys came 6:30 pm Saturday after I told them I would be disputing the charge with my bank and leave a review. I was tired of calling. The oven went out and fridge wouldnt cool. We recieved constant apologies. It was so annoying. The house was not inspected nor ready and we had to pay for it. I would recommend people call to check on homes before they arrive. Take pics immediately. Make notes. I never write reviews unless it was an experience to remember. Unfortunately this wasnt a positive one. We are Realtors here on the island and will be sure to warn others. People make mistakes. We understand that but rectify it at a high level or understand how disrespectful it is! Thank you!
It became extremely clear from the beginning this guest was after a free stay. Our highly experienced and thorough inspector walked this property, inside and out, prior to their arrival. Completely obvious items such as unmade beds, crumbs and dust, and dirty bathrooms are never something we would ever let a guest walk in to. Once we received their call about these complaints, we immediately sent housekeeping over to re-clean the entire home. We asked the guest to take pictures of every issue so we could verify the situation. Those pictures were never shown to us or emailed. No one told them that we would be stopping by the next day to set our eyes on the status of the home, because at that point the home was completely cleaned. After housekeeping completed the clean the first night, the guest still did not find their work acceptable and made them come back a second time the next day. The pool was cleaned the day before their arrival. There was in fact a small rainstorm the night before and because of the amount of trees around the property, unfortunately leaves fell into the pool. The pool is cleaned bi-weekly. Because of the high volume of calls into the pool company's line for extra cleanings and maintenance, the pool was cleaned late Saturday afternoon. Instructions for how to pick up Sea Pines passes is clearly explained on multiple emails to guests before their arrival and in their personalized guest portal. This guest even called the day of their arrival asking for clarification on how to pick them up, which we explained thoroughly to her. Any maintenance issues regarding the oven or fridge was also not brought to our attention.
Every "issue" this guest did bring to our attention was resolved as quickly as possible given the circumstances. This is a beautiful home; one we take care of with the upmost respect. It is unfortunate people like this have to go out of their way to try to ruin the experience of future guests and the quality of this rental.
Great family home
Sea Pines offers such a relaxing and fun vacation for all ages. Our only issue with the house was that the description said that two bikes were included and there were no bikes. After several phone calls, we just gave up and rented two more bikes. Other than that we loved the house and yard.
Great house for multi-generation vacation!
We enjoyed our visit at this beautiful home at 4 Gunnery! When we arrived, the house smelled a bit musty, but it seemed to air out once we arrived and got the air circulating. Maybe it had not been rented recently and that was the reason for that. The home was well-appointed and had everything we needed for our family of five plus both sets of grandparents for a total of 9 of us. Beds were comfy and house was clean. House was an easy bike ride to South Beach and Tower Beach and only a little longer bike ride to the Sea Pines Beach Club.
One quick maintenance note, we had to cut off the water to a couple of the toilets when we left since they were running constantly and probably just need new flappers, so that may be a quick fix that could be done. Overall, no major complaints and we enjoyed our stay.
