Surrounded by towering pines, granite boulders, and fresh mountain air, Lark Lookout offers a peaceful retreat designed for slowing down, reconnecting, and enjoying the natural beauty of the mountains. Tucked away on a quiet street yet close to the Village and nearby slopes, this cozy cabin blends comfort, scenery, and thoughtful amenities that make it easy to settle in from the moment you arrive. Outdoor living Step outside and experience one of the home’s standout features - a private hot tub set among mountain views and tranquil surroundings. After a day of exploring, sink into the warm water while taking in the crisp air and starry skies. The spacious patio and deck areas offer inviting spots to sip morning coffee, enjoy outdoor dining, or simply unwind while surrounded by pine trees and natural rock formations. The large yard adds to the sense of privacy, creating a serene environment for both quiet mornings and relaxed evenings.
Living spaces Inside, the cabin combines rustic charm with modern convenience. Large windows bring in natural light and frame scenic views, while comfortable seating and entertainment options create a cozy gathering space for movie nights or board games after a day outdoors. Roku TVs, a sound system, and fast WiFi make it easy to stay connected or stream your favorite shows, while a dedicated workspace supports remote work or extended stays. Heating keeps the space warm during cooler seasons, making the cabin especially inviting during winter months.
Kitchen and dining The fully equipped kitchen is designed for guests who enjoy cooking or sharing meals together. With cooking basics, modern appliances, a dishwasher, and both drip and Keurig coffee makers, preparing anything from quick breakfasts to leisurely dinners feels effortless. A dining area provides space to gather, connect, and plan the next day’s adventures.
Sleeping arrangements Lark Lookout comfortably sleeps up to five guests across two thoughtfully arranged bedrooms. The primary bedroom features a king bed, while the second bedroom includes two full beds, making the home well-suited for families, couples traveling together, or small groups. Quality linens, extra pillows, and in-home laundry add comfort and practicality for longer stays.
Location and experiences The cabin’s location offers the best of both worlds - a peaceful mountain setting with convenient access to nearby attractions. The Village, local dining, shopping, and outdoor recreation are all within easy reach, while nearby trails and scenic spots invite exploration throughout the year. In winter, enjoy proximity to ski areas and snow activities; in warmer months, hiking trails, lake outings, and fresh mountain air create a refreshing escape from everyday routines.

Parking Parking is limited to a maximum of 2 vehicles. Please use the designated driveway spaces only and avoid blocking neighboring properties or the roadway. Due to the mountain terrain and sloped access, guests should drive cautiously when arriving and departing.
Occupancy Maximum occupancy is 5 guests. This limit must be respected at all times for safety, compliance, and comfort.
Pet policy This home is not pet-friendly. We appreciate your cooperation in helping maintain the space for all guests.
Property terrain and safety The property sits on an extremely steep, sloped lot surrounded by natural boulders. Please use caution when walking around the exterior areas. For safety reasons, sledding, skiing, or riding of any kind on the property is strictly prohibited.
Mountain environment and wildlife This is a mountain home located in a natural forest environment. While the home is professionally cleaned between each stay and humane pest mitigation is used, occasional bugs or critters may be present inside or outside the home, including near outdoor amenities such as the hot tub. This is a normal part of mountain living and is outside the host’s control.
Southern California wildlife may include coyotes, bears, snakes, birds of prey, rodents, arachnids, and scorpions. Although issues are rare, guests should remain aware of their surroundings and supervise children and belongings appropriately to ensure everyone’s safety.
Home has a pack and play Please remember these rules are mandated and imposed solely by the CITY and our PERMIT/ORDINANCE which requires property management companies to notify all guests that the CITY requires you to sign a rental agreement and the Good Neighbor Brochure to obtain the code to the property as well as provide a copy in the rental agreement app a copy of Governmental ID that matches the name on the reservation. Please notate these and all rules regarding spa hours, trash removal, noise and dishes being washed are due to our permit and not our rules so please keep this in mind before booking as some guests rate us based on rules we must abide by to rent. We appreciate that they are unique rules please do not review us based on the reviews we need to follow, we appreciate it. The code cannot be sent until this agreement is filled out.
(1) Maximum vehicles and guest occupancy permitted is described in the listing. Any violation is subject to eviction and/or cancellation of your stay. If you need additional parking, please contact us directly.
(2) Big Bear Lake does not allow street parking; they will tow any vehicles parked on the street and any towing fees or fines issued are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner.
(3) Excessive noise or loud music heard at the property line is prohibited by the CITY for the consideration of the local residents. The CITY enforces quiet hours from 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM and will send out code enforcement officers to issue fines/and or evict guests for any violations reported. There will be a $300 administrative fine per Code Call for our team to show up as we are required to attend such code call within 30 minus, plus $100 per hour of our time spent for the violation. This is IN ADDITION to any fines issued by Code Enforcement which start at $500 to $5000 per violation.
(4) Dishes - All dishes must be cleaned before leaving and the house must be left in the same condition that you found it in. Any dirty dishes left in the kitchen are subject to a $45 fee- our housekeepers will unload dishes or put them away but do not wash dishes or dump trash per the law this includes leaving dishes with food on them or left in the home. It also attracts vermin. Please note this is part of our permit and not included in cleaning the home after guests leave.
(5) Trash - All trash must be removed offsite to the free trash sites. Any bags or trash left behind in the bathroom, kitchen (including leaving behind items in the fridge, or outside is subject to a $25 per bag for removal this is not our rule - this is the law and we must abide by it as there is no trash service due to wild animals. Please do not review us based on the law. We provide a dump service if you should want to pay in advance, but we have to send a dump service we cannot have housekeepers take the trash as the CITY does not allow this.
(6) Barbecue- Propane is offered on the honor system on any firepit or BBQ. Please do not leave the firepit or BBQ on unattended. Please clean the BBQ after use. If by chance the propane runs out, please let us know and we will send someone to replace it. Please make sure all propane is turned off after use. Big Bear does not allow the use of charcoal of lighter fluid. Please be advised if you run out of propane and it is after hours we cannot promise after hours refills late at night as the stores may not be open.
(7) Pet- The home is strictly not pet friendly as the owners have severe allergies. Any violation is subject to eviction and a $3500 fine plus damages to the home will be charged.
(8) Hot Tub – No hot tub use after 10pm per the law any time a spa is left open and the cover off more than 30 mins a fine of $250 per hour will be due plus damages to the spa as this can result in pipes freezing - if a user error or maintenance is found or if we have to dump and fill water prior to your stay due to cleanliness requirements - we cannot be held liable nor grant refunds for a spa not being at the temperature desired or if left uncovered - if we have to dump the water it can take 24 hours for it to warm up. This is out of our control as sometimes the water has to be dumped and can take 24 hours to warm up. This will not be grounds for a refund.
(9) Parties or noise ordinance calls – any parties, events, unauthorized guests or noise complaints will result in immediate eviction with no refund. Any party will incur $5,000 fine plus immediate eviction.
(10) No over occupancy - $500 per person over occupancy fine plus damages plus immediate eviction and subject to code call fines.
(11) No smoking, vaping or drugs inside our cabins at any time. Any evidence of violation is grounds for immediate eviction from the cabin and a $3500 plus damages found at the home.
(12) Please refrain from bringing your own BBQs, Firepits and or outside cooking devices are banned by the CITY due to the fire safety hazards.
