Ce penthouse de coin spacieux unique, # 310 à Makani Sands, est le plus grand condo dans le bâtiment! 3 chambres, 3 1/2 salle de bain au 3ème et 4ème étage a une vue incroyable sur l'océan et les îles voisines de Molokai & Lanai, avec un accès rapide à notre plage et grande piscine d'eau douce. Décorée dans un style moderne, cette belle maison de ville est équipée d'une télévision haute définition dans le salon et d'une télévision dans chaque chambre à l'étage. Il y a une cuisine complète avec tous les appareils nécessaires. Une grande salle à manger avec une table à manger. Il y a une 1/2 salle de bain dans le couloir en bas. Passez quelques nuits à la maison à préparer du poisson frais sur notre barbecue en bord de mer et dînez sur la grande table en verre. Deux grands lanais latéraux de l'océan parfait pour les couchers de soleil fabuleux et l'observation des baleines. À l'étage en bord de mer grande suite chambre des maîtres a un lit king, et salle de bain principale a une baignoire jacuzzi pour votre détente et un double lavabo et dressing. Chambre d'hôtes sur le flanc de la montagne, dispose d'un lit king et douche à l'italienne. Il y a une chambre en bas avec des lits jumeaux et une salle de bain privée. Gorgeous ocean views

The ocean view was amazing! We enjoyed quite a few whale and sea turtle sightings from our balconies. The upkeep of the property is great.

Great as a family vaction base!

What a great week at Makani Sands! We had plenty of space for our extended family of 7 adults and a toddler. It was nice to have easy access to the ocean for snorkeling and a breathtaking view from the lanais for so much whale watching. The condo was exactly as pictured and the property staff was friendly, accommodating, and very helpful 11/10 would stay again with a large group!

Awesome place

After reading the last review I was expecting something horrible but was pleasantly surprised. The only negative thing was that there was beach restoration project going on which was making noises sometimes especially in the morning. Really enjoyed the view from the balconies, were able to see turtles and whales.

This unit had enough space for 7 people to be comfortable. The ocean views from both balconies were stunning and we enjoyed whale watching from the comfort of the balconies. The pool was very enjoyable and warm! Would highly recommend and we are hoping to stay here again in the future.

Great vacation spot for an extended family

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were a party of six, four adults and two kids age 3 and 5. This unit met our needs very well. We would stay here again. The unit is right on the water with terrific views of the water and Molokai. The sounds of the surf were a treat. Some of us spent many hours lounging on the upper lanai. The unit is nicely furnished with everything one would need. Some of the fixtures and appliances are a little older and comfortably worn while still being nicely maintained. The onsite staff were friendly and helpful. The private beach was a little small and the surf a little rough four our young kids, but there is a terrific beach for kids about a 10 minute walk to the south. We also enjoyed the "Badass Coffee" shop across from this beach park as others mentioned. The location was otherwise terrific.

Breathtaking Views

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Excellent, spacious and well appointed unit with panoramic views of the ocean. We enjoyed the lanais and the wonderful breezes. We saw so many whales from this point. You can see Molokai and Lanai from the balconies. The unit was clean and had everything we needed. Great patio below with grilling stations. Only disappointment was that there is no longer a beach as pictured. The beach has been washed away and is covered with large mossy rocks. There is a really big drop from steps of the Patio to rocks below indicating erosion is pretty advanced. They really should remove the beach photos from the advertisement. Makani Sands is really close to everything. You can easily walk to restaurants, grocery store and an ABC store. I would recommend this unit. We had a wonderful stay here.

Xmas in Maui

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Went to Maui to celebrate Christmas and stayed at the Makani Sands Condo. Great location (close to Lahaina) and the condo itself is right on the water. In fact so close you can feel the waves. The condo is big and plenty of room for all 6 of us (2 adults and 4 teenagers) where everyone had space. The owners are great people and Tammy is great to work with and communicate with on any issues (as we actually lost power with a storm) and the owners were quick to come over and get us lanterns we could use before it all went dark. Sitting on the patio listening to the waves, you can see the whales swimming by. Just a great view. The only concern is that the stairs down to the water is not a place to swim in winter. No beach. But a short walk down the block you have access to a public beach to swim that the kids enjoyed. Great place and would recommend and stay here again.

Wonderful Time

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a very relaxed and enjoyable stay in Maui. The condo had plenty of space and we didn't feel at all crowded. It had everything we needed down to a grinder for our coffee beans. It was within walking distance to grocery stores, coffee shop, restaurants and other beaches. Our ocean view was spectacular. The bathrooms in the condo could use some updating but were fine to use. One negative was the cushions on the patio furniture were thin and a few of the slates were broken. Also, as the beach is not available in winter and we wished that the Condo Board had extended the steps to the water or provided another way of accessing the ocean as the swimming in front of the condo was wonderful. Tammy, the manager, was very helpful and was great with responding to any of our concerns. We really appreciated her help. All in all, we definitely recommend this condo and would love to return.

True Beachside Accomodations

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: You can't beat the proximity to the beach. Your back wall on both floors is a huge patio door which has a million dollar view! The waves were somewhat aggressive our entire week so the sound of the surf is ever present. (If you are a light sleeper this may be a problem - but it's a pretty incredible problem to have ??) You get beautiful sunsets every night. You can swim and snorkel right at this beach although not the best snorkelling compared to other parts of the island. We played in the waves while watching the sunset one evening - Memorable!!The unit is large and spacious and sufficiently stocked. Many updates are done but a little worn, or could use more attention to detailed cleaning around the edges. The phone was out of order in our unit and never did get fixed while we were there however the TV in the master bedroom didn't work and they did fix that quickly. We will definitely return here as even the expensive hotel chains do not have this beachside proximity. Great value for an expensive island.

RUN FORREST RUN!!!

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location and set up of the condo is ok. The problem is the owner refuses to spend any money on much needed repairs on the unit...especially the air conditioning. It was broken the entire time we were there and it needs to be replaced. It is 35 years old. Also needing replaced is the washer and dryer. Plumbing issues while we were there. Came home to water pouring through the ceiling in the kitchen and dining room. Ruined my laptop. I asked for the owner to file an insurance claim to replace my computer. We had no where to go and they had no place to put us so we HAD to stay. No refund offered for not having AC. No insurance claim filed so I am out the cost of a new laptop. The property was roped off at the beach entrance because it's about to fall into the ocean. HUGE crack where chairs are and you could feel the movement from the waves. We had to climb over the next door's property wall to go snorkeling. The management team are nice...but they can't do anything without owner's approval to pay for repairs. Just say no!

Awesome Penthouse

Reviewer Comments: Our group of 6, (two couples, our mother and our 14 year old teen), truly enjoyed staying at the Makani Sands for a week and plan to return on our next visit. This two floor - top floor - end unit was a wonderful spacious super convenient unit with excellent views. The owners have really gone out of their way to have everything available that one could possibly need for a stay and more. Beds, furniture, linens all clean and comfortable. Whale watching was an added bonus with many sightings an hour from our unit, upper bedroom deck and the patios below. The supermarket is affordable an a couple minutes away prepping meals ourselves in the well appointed kitchen and large dining area. Highway access is less than a mile with many attractions and excellent beaches nearby (conference center, zip lines, submarine ride, luau, beaches, excursions, tap house, etc.). Other owners/guests staying in the unit are frequent/repeat guests were friendly and helpful. Limited parking was no problem during our stay. Although the "beach' is not a sand/swim area, it was excellent for hanging out, laying out, grilling etc. Pool was well maintained. The owners have added high end retractable transparent screens to both the main level and upper level deck areas which are not pictured. Nice add in case needed. Separate bathrooms for each of the 3 bedrooms plus a half bath was great. Really happy with the in unit washer and dryer convenience. On site resident manager kept common areas clean, well maintained, safe, quiet and were readily available as needed. Thanks for a great stay. We were very impressed with everything.

Cockroaches! other than that as expected. Slightly dirty and old.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Dec 28-jan4 2023 unit 310. If your idea of “island bugs”as listed in the rental contract includes cockroaches then you’ll be fine. This place was full of them. The moment I walked in I saw them, on the floor, in the dish cupboard, sink, dishwasher, closet, Bathroom. I would have moved places but nothing over the holiday was available in my price range. We paid over $1000 a night for this condo during this holiday season. The staff was aware of the bug problem and the owner would not give any refund, they did give me traps to set out along with the traps they had already set. My girls spent the nights crying scared of the bugs. I asked the people staying in the unit next to us I believe 309, they said they saw a few cockroaches in their place too- but just dead ones. I give it two stars because the location was perfect and the bedroom set up was what I needed. The upstairs two king beds didn’t have any bugs. I was just sick the entire time we were there, knowing the bugs were crawling on the dishes, even in the dishwasher. I kept all our food in the fridge even the peanut butter as to keep it safe. My main worry was bringing one of the bugs home with me! A relaxing island vacation blackened by stress and tears. The positive was we didn’t have to be at the condo other than to sleep.

Outdated/ soiled condo and last day problems, unexpected visitors

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Although the grounds and view was spectacular, our condo was very outdated, soiled furniture, needs some fresh paint on the trim/doors and just had a dirty feel to it. There was a very pungent odor in the condo when we first arrived and other intermittent days. Not sure why. We paid for a late fee that meant we could stay in the condo until 9:00 pm on our checkout day, due to a late night flight off the island. I had checked with the management, as I noted the late check out fee on our statement, but it said we were still checking out at 11:00am. I emailed the management of Makani Sands and was assured we could stay in the condo until 9:00 pm on our check out day. A family member went to the front desk around 10:00 AM to find out where we needed to leave our door keys as the office would be closed by the time we left. “Debbie” at the front desk asked what unit the family member was in. The family member told Debbie we were leaving around 6:30 PM. Debbie rather rudely yield the family member we needed to leave “now” and the new renters were standing right there and pointed at some other guests. I went and spoke to Debbie and she reviewed statements I had and emails that had been sent. She said “yes you’re right” and never apologized for the way she spoke to the other family member. She did say it would be too late for the cleaning crew to clean if we didn’t leave until 6:30 pm. We stayed in the condo as planned and around 4:30-5:00 pm 2 women walked right into our condo without knocking. They claimed they were renting the condo and were expecting to be in later that day. They claimed management had told them something needed to be repaired in the condo so they couldn’t get in until later after check in time which was at 3:00 PM. I would recommend this property, but not unit 310.

Comfortable, spacious ocean front condo

Five of us stayed at this spacious, ocean front condo for a week. Being right on the ocean was a priority and this met that request. We were so happy to find a condo with 3 bedrooms, each with their own bath, plus a half bath on the main floor. Awesome to sit on the lanai for meals everyday! We were thrilled to watch the sea turtles feeding off the rocks below. Having a penthouse and an end unit made for a nice quiet location. We brought our binoculars to watch to whales between Molokai and Lanai. Would definitely recommend this amazing condo for a very special experience !
