Dorothy's Lodge- Chaffey's Lock

Dorothy's Lodge is a wonderful property in the heart of the Rideau Lakes that can accommodate groups up to 25 people! This property features docking for 3 boats, great swimming, great fishing, and exploring.

The dock has a beach swimming area and a 20x20 foot dock with great swimming and lots of room to lounge. The fishing is great from the main dock where you can catch your fill of sun-fish and rock-bass, and if you are lucky a large-mouth bass or two. You have full use of the SUP’s Kayak and Canoe as well!

This property is unlike any other available on the Rideau, a great place for family reunions! The Wifi downloads are at a whopping 1gbps!

There are four cottages with a lawn between them with a fire pit and room to throw frisbees, footballs etc.

Each cabin has A/C, electric heat, Coffee maker, water dispenser, Bell fibe TV via Amazon fire stick. A hot tub and a sauna are on site for your enjoyment.

Dorothy’s Lodge is located, within walking distance to the Cataraqui Trail (great place for biking and hiking), convenience store with beer/liquor, etc, Opinicon Lodge Restaurant, historic Chaffey's Lock and the Lockmaster's Museum, Cedars Art Studio, and Boat rentals at Brown's Marina. The Opinicon Resort is only a 5 minute walk from this property for a great dinner, drinks in the pub, or for the best Ice-cream anywhere! Motorboats can also be rented within walking distance! By boat you have access to six lakes without locking through. Also the town of Newboro is accessible by boat where there is fine dining and great Shopping.

Please note that we rent only the whole property out to one group/booking at a time.

The Rideau Canal is recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and was rated #2 as an exceptional historic site destination by National Geographic.

The Rideau Lakes Region is a great place to explore. You can take advantage of the great fishing, boating, swimming, water-skiing, or lock through the historic canal system to the other attached lakes and towns. In the surrounding towns and cities there are also lots of activities, and events to participate in including, golf, historic tours, boat tours, shopping restaurants, parties, and lots more!

For the prime summer weeks, this cottage rents from Friday to Thursday (6 nights).
