We stayed at the lakehouse with friends and family for the weekend and we are so grateful weâve found this gem. The house was spotless, bathrooms and kitchen so clean, beds and linens fresh and like new, everything well organized. I loved that the fridge was empty and very sanitized. The grounds so well kept- and very private. Ernesta was friendly and a gracious host, even leaving my favourite coffee to enjoy. Very close to Westport and lovely walking roads and nature trails. We will definitely return to this luxury lakehouse!
The property was spacious, the cottage was well appointed and nicely decorated. Lots of different seating areas inside and out, which was wonderful for our large family. The swimming was excellent too.
Our stay at the Lazy Loon Lakehouse was the perfect lake vacation! We were able to enjoy the beautiful lake views from the dock, roomy back porch and the breathtaking views from inside the house. Our kiddos loved the kayaks, fishing and jumping off the floating dock, and of course playing some table tennis. Ernesta was a wonderful host and really supplied everything we needed for a wonderful stay. We are already looking forward to returning for another stay in the future!
My group had a fantastic stay at the lazy loon. Great location on a beautiful lake. The property is clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed watching movies, playing fooseball, eating great meals, swimming in the clear water and had a camp fire too. We also golfed at the local course which was excellent. Highly recommend this property! Our host was easy to communicate with and helped ensure we had a great stay. Hopefully weâll be back again soon!
Beautiful lakefront property near Westport for up to 10 people
Our extended family was congregating in the Westport area for a family reunion. As we are a large family we needed a few places for accommodation. There was a list of local places to check out and The Lazy Loon Lakehouse seemed to meet our requirementsWe had seen the pictures online but when we arrived we were even more impressed. The house is very well outfitted and the property impressive with an expansive lake front view. There is plenty of space to enjoy and lots of activities to keep everyone happy. The location is private and about 10 minutes out of Westport. We could have happily stayed just at the house to kayak or fish and it was well equipped for cooking and barbecuing. There is games tables downstairs as well as a plethora of board games. We however had to be out and about visiting so were unable to truly enjoy. Our property manager communicated well prior to arrival and had a printed information outline available for house management which made it easy for checking in and out It is a terrific spot with something for everyone to enjoy- would definitely recommend this property for a stay in the area
The property is immaculate with everything you may need in the kitchen, plus kayaks, rowboat, board games, toys for tots, ping pong and foosball! All in perfect working order. The owner was in constant communication and responded promptly to requests, The lake is lovely with only moderate boat traffic and decent fishing. The house is upslope from the lake, which affords nice sunset views. The slope could be a problem for people with limited mobility, but was easily manageable by my 21 month old grandson.
I have 2 active young boys and in-laws who vacation with us. We can get a little loud but the property is very private even though there are neighbors. There were in enough rooms and space for all of us. My boys enjoyed playing in the big yard, roasting mashmellows and having a campfire, fishing off the dock and the game room downstairs. The kayaks were a big hit with my oldest and I. He could paddle to the floating dock and fish from there. We also did catch and release crawfish along the shore. We had no issues with docking our boat and itâs a great location on the lake. Wolfe Lake is amazing as we have been vacationing here for several years but our first time in this house. It was truly wonderful and the kids are already asking to go back next year!
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The way the cottage is designed and decorated created a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for a family gathering. I liked how nicely organized and functional the space was. And, how it was very "kid friendly" with durable furnishings and few things that could be broken. Everyone also commented on how comfortable the beds were.
The kids loved the ping pong tables and the foosball. The basket of books and the games were also put to good use. They loved wading in the water at the rocky area near the kayaks. Also, they did go fishing once off the end of the dock and caught a couple of fish.
The kitchen was really well-stocked with all the tools and implements I needed to prepare meals. I loved the butcher block island and all the counter space. It made meal preparation so easy!
My wife and I brought our boys (16 & 13) to stay at Lazy Loon Lakehouse for an extra long weekend and had a wonderful time! So many fun (screen free!) things to do together! The house was clean and comfortable and the property was outstanding. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook and the lower level was a great place for the boys to hang out. We appreciated the excellent and welcoming communication with Ernesta and her kind consideration of our needs. We cannot wait to return!

To Whom it may concern:
What follows is our review of a recent week spent at Lazy Loon Lakehouse on Wolfe Lake.
The property is beautifully maintained on a gorgeous, clean, quiet lake.
The home is open, light-filled, spacious, clean and accommodating. Ernesta the host clearly makes considerable efforts to welcome her guests, and ensure their comfort and convenience.
A hard copy of a thorough Guest Guide and Welcome Package (which is also sent electronically well ahead of arrival) reinforces for the guest upon their arrival that everything has been properly taken care of and well thought through.
The layout is perfect for large families, with a master bedroom and one adjoining bedroom on the main level, together with a very spacious open plan including kitchen, dining and living areas as well as a large entry vestibule and a small office.
There are three additional bedrooms in the basement, which also includes its own full bath, a second, very large screen TV, a ping pong table and a large selection of board games. The scale of the house is not properly conveyed by the photos which do not do it justice in terms of the functionality and layout of the principle rooms. The sight lines through the main living area out onto the lake and beyond are spectacular and render all the sunsets interesting.
Our children are now young adults; in twenty years of renting cottages, we have yet to encounter such a high degree of thoughtful preparation and organization. It was a pleasure! From kitchen utensils to beds and bedding, everything is of high quality and well-maintained. Imagine reaching for a frying pan - and being surprised by the heft; imagine reaching for any of several knives and finding them all sharp; imagine laying your head down on your pillow at the end of your day and smiling as you feel the support of a luxurious mattress. The flatware and glassware are all aesthetically pleasing and perfectly functional. There are no compromises here.
We are looking forward to returning and would not hesitate to recommend Lazy Loon Lakehouse to even the most discerning.

This is a lovely cottage with lots of space and games for our multi-generational family. The kitchen was very well equipped. The views, birds and sunsets were spectacular. The walks nearby through farmers fields were magical.
Pros: Well equipped, comfy beds, spacious, lovely lake, lots of games, firepit, air conditioning, very close to golf and Westport
Cons: The only bathroom on the main floor is the master ensuite which was awkward for the second bedroom occupants. There's no shade on the lake view deck making it unusable for dinners on a sunny day: bring a patio umbrella. There's no laundry.
My family just got home from an amazing 2 week stay at Lazy Loon Lakehouse. The house/cottage is comfortable, spacious and very well maintained. The kitchen had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable and we had a blast playing table tennis, darts and foosball downstairs. What sets this place apart, however, is the outdoor space. An expansive lawn slopes down toward the wide waterfront, where we found a rocky (youâll need water shoes) crystal clear lake. We spent countless hours splashing around, swimming to the raft and exploring on the kayaks. We dined on the front deck every evening taking in the spectacular sunset. Ernesta was a most welcoming host, and the cleaning and maintenance staff (who came for a refresh midway through our stay) were terrific too. An added bonus was the proximity to Westport (simple groceries, ice cream) and the vineyard (patio, wine, wood fired pizza). Thanks for the fantastic holiday!
This is a great location for a large family or dual family getaway. The cottage is spacious, and well kept. We were a total of 8 persons (two families; 4 adults and 4 children), and never once felt crowded. The grounds were well kept as well and the view from the Deck was a beauty! The hosts were terrific and were very helpful from booking to arrival, and were always available for consultation during our stay. For those that like the water, we were able to make good use of the two kayaks they made available to us. For those that like to fish, you'll be pleasantly surprised on how good it is. The kids had fun catching pan fish while the "Dads" were able to catch several Pike and Bass over the course of the week. All in all a great trip! If there's one Tip we'd give you it's this... make sure you opt for the A/C, it can get really hot in South Frontenac during the month of July!
Owners Ernesta and Cyrus met us on arrival and couldnât have been more helpful. They gave us coupons for the nearby winery and even provided fresh pastries. Their home is beautiful with every amenity you could ever want. The setting is spectacular and totally private with a 50 foot deck overlooking the lake - we saw some spectacular sunsets. The kitchen is state of the art complete with a whisper quiet dishwasher. Everything in the cottage is brand new and top quality from the beds and linens to the barbecue.and outdoor furniture. The master bedroom and ensuite are luxurious with a private door to the deck. Air conditioning is available for a fee but is controlled by the owners so we chose not to use it - bedrooms have ceiling fans. The lower level has 3 bedrooms plus a ping pong table, darts board and foozball game. Great weed free swimming and we particularly enjoyed paddling the lake in 2 lightweight plastic kayaks. Just up the road is a winery offering tastings and wood smoked pizzas plus a sculpture garden. Evergreen Golf is also a few minutes drive - a lovely course and nice pub. The charming town of Westport is 10 minutes away - the clothes shopping was fabulous!
The only drawback is there is no TV in the living room - only in the master bedroom. But we read lots and played some of the games they provide. All in all it was a fabulous experience! Thank you Ernesta and Cyrus for being super hosts!
This is deluxe accomodation with every modern amenity! Ernesta and Cyrus were very helpful and greeted us with pastries and passes to the nearby winery. The kitchen is spectacular and the open concept living/dining area has picture windows overlooking the lake. The 50 ft deck has a panoramic view and a large dining table - we saw many fabulous sunsets. The master bedroom is luxurious with ensuite and walk-in closet. Other bedrooms very comfortable but two of the lower level rooms would benefit from window screens. There are games for kids, 2 lightweight kayaks, and weed-free swimming.
The charming village of Westport is a 10 minute drive and Evergreen golf just minutes away too. Our only wish is that there had been a TV in the living room - there is one in the master bedroom. There is air conditioning but as it is controlled by the owners we preferred using the ceiling fans. This is a beautiful perfectly equipped home you are bound to enjoy!
Weâve always dreamed about escaping to a secluded lakehouse where the water is pure, the fish are plentiful, and the sunsets shine bright before the stars light up the night. We finally found it, on 10 acres at the end of the lane on Wolfe Lake. Our front yard is the lake and our backyard is our farm.
We said we wanted serenity and natural beauty, but lets face it, we still wanted a winery, golfing, coffee, Kawartha ice cream and boutiques just 10 minutes away. It sounds idealâŠand we think it is. A little piece of heaven less than 10 minutes from Westport and about 50 minutes North of Kingston and 30 minutes South of Perth in South Frontenac. Weâve purposely designed this as a destination for families who cherish time with friends at the cottage, but donât feel the need to rough it. Weâd love to welcome you to Lazy Loon Lakehouse - a year-round retreat.
Over 530 feet of beautiful, private and weed-free waterfront at the end of a private lane - - all surround by 10 acres of privacy. Drive 8 minutes and you're in the picturesque town of Westport. This retreat truly is the best of both worlds.
