The rental is small but clean and comfortable. The owner lives behind the rental and was very helpful. The location is close to the downtown with shops and restaurants. We would stay there again!
Perfect location in Calistoga. Could walk to eat and the market. Lots going on in Calistoga tooFarmerâs market and a community dinner during our stay. The place is smaller, so be cautious of how many people stay. Very clean and the owner was right next door
A lovely and quirky little place with everything we needed to be comfortable. Itâs a quick walk to the Main Street with food, activities, shopping, etc. Adele was great with communication, and there were no issues! We would stay there again!
Location of this property is ideal for a visit to Napa Valley (especially if you are visiting "up Valley" properties). Easy walk to restaurants, groceries, etc. Adele is always a good communicator.
Check-in very easy. Loved the location of the cottage within walking distance to many tasting rooms and downtown. Very quiet neighborhood and host was very helpful with ideas on what to do in area.
The location is very convenient but also quiet. One could hear the birds singing and little traffic noise so it was pleasant to have morning coffe on the patio. The unit has large comfy beds, traditional style furniture and a modern kitchen. It is all very clean and well maintained. The owner was very friendly and when we asked for something else for the kitchen responded promptly.
The owner was very lovely and easy to contact. The location was perfect. However, it was not clean at all. It needs a deep clean for sure and the layout is a bit odd.
Worked well for our stay, even if the property is a little quirky
We recently spent 4 nights at Adele's 2 bedroom cottage in Calistoga. The location is perfect for walking to all the great restaurants other shops on Lincoln Avenue. The check in process was very easy. Adele is so friendly, and we appreciated her ideas for places to visit during your stay.
The kitchen is located at the back of the house on what appears to have previously been a porch area. It had everything we needed during our stay. However, it is only accessible through the back bedroom so it was odd to have our son and his girlfriend walk through the bedroom we were using in order to use the kitchen. And the bathroom, with a claw foot tub and pedestal sink, is very charming. However there is really no space to put a toiletry bag or other items, and it is easy to get water from the shower on the floor because you have to open the curtain each time you need the shampoo or other item. We made it work, but did miss the conveniences of a more modern bathroom.
All in all, we would consider staying here again if it were just my husband and myself. We appreciate Adele's hospitality during our stay.
Walking distance to everything in Calistoga. Beautifully furnished cottage. Get Adele's telephone # early and avoid the VRBO message portal hassle. She is a doll.
A short trip for me and my adult daughter, so the two rooms and shared bath were perfect! Comfy beds! Kitchen had all our basic needs met- we ate our meals out since everything was in walking distance in the town! Really appreciated the location! Owner was very attentive and the process to check in was easy. They even gave a birthday cake for my daughterâs 26th birthday! Very thoughtful!! Definitely a great place to stay!
I have to rave about the great beds, the wonderful down pillows, and the interesting antique furnishings. Including the wall tapestry. The location is very convenient to downtown dining and shopping. The only likmitation was the lack of counter space or a table in the small kitchen.
We loved our stay in Calistoga. Adele was a wonderful host! The cottage was perfect for our weekend in the area. I loved how close the house was to everything in town. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Calistoga. Adele was also super sweet to leave us some freshly ground coffee. My husband thanks you for that. I can be a bear without my early morning coffee.
Living room needs tweaking for comfort. Bathroom too.
First off, when I walked in I thought "This isn't the place I rented." The furniture was different from shown in the photos and the one I rented had an outdoor fireplace. This unit is half of a duplex and the other side was the unit with the outdoor fireplace. But since there were already people staying there I decided to let things slide. The reason I'm marking this as three stars rather than higher (I'm usually a really easy grader) is the lack of comfort in the living room and the fact that this could be fixed with a bit of effort.
Explaining: The living room is a long rectangle with a loveseat on one end (by the door) with an arm chair beside it. There is no coffee table in front of the sofa, nor a side table by the chair--basically no place to sit a drink down. The tv is on the wall way at the opposite end of the room. To watch tv you must look over the dining table and chairs. There is only the ceiling light; there are no floor or table lamps in the room so don't plan to read a book.
One corner of the room is taken up by a large floral arrangement. At the opposite end with the tv there is a massive table to hold a few books and tv components. The table to be used for dining is an ornate antique in the middle of the room, one where there is so much carving that you can't fit your legs under it. The chairs are very straight, small and uncomfortable.
Room could work with a bit of effort. I suggest moving the massive table under the tv down the wall to the corner. Then I'd move the big floral display on to that table, place in corner next to the window. Since the kitchen is so far away, I'd utilize that table to hold the coffee maker and toaster, basically convert it into a 'breakfast room'. I'd purchase a new smallish round table with comfortable seating and put that where the flowers currently are. Move the sofa up to the front window and angle it slightly to face the tv. Pull the arm chair up as well. This would be better for watching a movie. Definitely add a coffee table and some lamps.
For the bathroom: a small stand under the blow dryer and a narrow bookcase behind the door would give spots for multiple toiletry kits and to hold those extra towels.
Honestly, this place just needs a bit of rearranging for comfort. The location is great and the front garden is lovely. The two beds were very comfortable and checking in and out was a breeze!
Cottage was perfect for our wine tasting weekend. Location was great as it was an easy walk to town (restaurants, etc.) but far enough away to be quiet during the evening. Also easy access to wineries in the north end of the valley.
