We found this place extremely interesting and different from most. It is secluded in the jungle and has a very calm feel. There was mention of Internet, but we were unable to receive it. No direct washer and dryer as advertised, but I'm sure she would let you use it from her house. Everything natural and organic. No roaches were seen in this place, but the geckos were cute as hell. At night the coqui frogs become rather loud...music to my ears, but hated by my partner. Host was helpful and caring.
Yes, my FAVORITE!! This place truly is an oasis. It is perfectly located directly off the main road but tucked away down a beautifully bumpy and overgrown driveway, the moment you get there you will be in aw. The vegetation, the house, the outdoor tub, the garden, fruit trees everywhere, color everywhere, the happiest place I have ever experienced! I couldnt find a single complaint about this place. I will never stay anywhere else on the big island!
This property was a great stay. Linda, the owner was marvelous to communicate withWe arrived strangers and we left friends. The Balinese style house was great. My upstairs room was unique and comfortable and a perfect hideaway. The gardens were lush and pretty. OB the Cat was a delightful greeter on our arrival. I would recommend this property to anyone as long as you're not afraid of geckos. They are so cute.
I canât say enough about our stay at Hale Meow Meow. Not only is it in a beautiful garden setting but also has a gorgeous view of the sunset over the ocean. Linda is an incredible host and made us feel extremely welcome. When I come back to the Big Isle, I will definitely be staying here.
Quaint Accommodations Surrounded by Beautiful Gardens
Great place to stay to get a true Hawaiian experience. Linda was a great host, very helpful. The fresh fruit from Linda's gardens was delicious. Ask Linda for a tour of the garden if you get a chance. She takes great pride in it and loves to show people around.
We spent four magical nights and enjoyed every minute, the house, the lovely gardens, the sunset views, and all the DVDs to watch in the evenings. Plus the host! She is a jeweller and made me an exquisite necklace during my stay. Will definitely return for more!
We were delighted to return to Hale meow meow and were spoiled again...a uniquely charming and comfortable home tucked into the most lush tropical garden. Everything we need is handy. We love to use the barbeque outside for dinner and soaking in the outdoor tub after a day's adventure is so fabulous. The sunsets are outrageous and Linda is the absolute best. Mahalo!

Our host was very friendly and made our stay very enjoyable. The house comfortably accommodated my group of four and the amenities allowed us to really enjoy all that the house had to offer.
Definitely worth the stay if youâre looking for a local experience.
Mahalo to our host!
Our family had an amazing time at Hale Meow Meow. We appreciated Linda's hospitality and daily delivery of fresh fruit. This was our favorite place to stay on the Big Island.
Schmidt Family
Fabulous!!! Away from the hustle & bustle of Kona, this delightful unique gem nestled within a tropical garden, is a great way to relax your soul. It is also in a great location close to some of the best snorkeling on the island. A bonus is the regular visits from OB, the friendly ginger cat.
We had a most memorable time at Hale Meow Meow. Linda is the perfect host who treated us like family. I highly recommend a stay if youâre looking for an authentic experience.
Birds, geckos, frogs and fauna. Beautiful spot with a great ocean view. Host was super friendly, helpful and interested. We loved this little piece of paradise as our home away from home.
We had a marvelous stay at Lindaâs house! Linda is so very accommodating and has such a beautifully constructed and decorated home. We loved watching sunset from the yard, the outdoor bath and shower, cooking in the kitchen with screen windows all around, and enjoyed watching some movies from her large dvd collection! Overall a beautiful and relaxing place to stay with a gracious host!
Mahalo Linda!
This is the perfect place to (re)connect with nature, people, ourselves. The house is opened on a great garden with an amazing lookout.
Linda takes care of her guests, communication was very easy at every steps.
I warmly recommand Hale meow meow for those who are in search of a true island vibe. Mahalo Linda.

My parents met and got married on Oahu in the mid 1940s. My mother was a pilot and mechanic at Hickam Field. They moved to Georgia and I grew up there. I bought this land with my sister and mother and moved to Hawaii. I have spent much of my life traveling the world and now my sister has moved and i stayed and i am a jewelry designer. I still travel to Asia a lot searching for treasures for my jewelry, and have started this vacation home and the farming. I love plants and animals so this life has been great.
When I first saw this property it was nothing but a thing called christmas berry but I knew it was where I should be. It was a long slow process turning it into what it is today, but worth every bit of it. Now, I just love being here.
