If one is looking for a decent, nice place this is it. But the 3 mile drive down from the main highway is quite interesting. 15 miles to the closest town. The place is very comfortable, but not too fancy.
We were in Kona for a business trip and decided to stay a few extra days to take in the sights. We stayed at this beautiful home with a striking beach view. The house was very comfortable and provided us with wonderful memories of morning coffee and afternoon sunsets on the porch.
Beautiful View, Quiet, Relaxing, Central to our Travel
We could hardly have been happier with our choice. A cute 2 bedroom, 2 bath, with a wide view of the ocean. The master bedroom was large, great walk in closet, expansive en suite bath with great water pressure for the shower, not a given with a catchment tank system. The owners were super responsive when there were questions. The living area was nice and big with two couches, both big enough to take naps in under the large windows. Fans in every room to add to the near constant breezes. Everything was neat and clean when we arrived with all the kitchen stuff necessary. The neighborhood is great for walking, ocean cliffs easily accessible for wild ocean views. Super neat blow holes when the water was big. 45 minutes to toes in the sand at 2 Step for great snorkeling and swimming, grocery stores and L&L BBQ 20 minutes away in Ocean View, Southpoint another 20 past that. A bit more than an hour to the Volcano or to Kona. We were there in January and we saw more than one whale from the porch on several occasions. So, great location, great views, pretty house, gorgeous landscaping, it was a wonderful time.
This house is as advertised, clean and very organized. It is well equipped, including some beach gear to use for your trips out. Good wi-fi and multiple TVs w/ Roku boxes. We had a great stay, especially enjoying the amazing views and stunning night skies.
The location is a little difficult to reach and far from services like stores and restaurants, nearest being 14 miles away. That includes the winding road down from the hwy, which is a doozy. Do your grocery shopping first! Arriving after dark and venturing down while searching for the house on your first night is adventurous. The instructions are good though, and a navi helps a lot but you best have a passenger assist with directions because the driver will be fully occupied.
The owners were very responsive and helpful. Mahalo !!
Four of us stayed at this home over the holidays.
This is a unique part of the Big Island. Itâs located about an hour south of Kona. You descend a windy road down into an area that feels almost rural. From the front porch the house you have a view of the ocean. We enjoyed many sunsets - walking from the house to the cliffs. Some mornings we would wake up and do yoga there. This is a nice place to slow down.
If you go about 45 mins south, you can visit Punaluu black sand beach, as well as the Punaluu bakery which has a variety of malasadas. Also near Punaluu is the Green Sand beach.
25 mins away is a nice snorkeling spot called two-step. You can find some more local beaches nearby.
In terms of working remotely - the internet does struggle doing Zoom video calls. The owners were nice enough to bump up the speed for us, so it's about 5Mbps down/2 Mbps up. Luckily we didnât have to work much over the holidays, but it you need to work, youâre better off staying in Hilo or Kona. The internet here is good enough to stream Netflix and such from the Roku.
The owners, Rick and Olivia are very nice and responsive. :)
We loved our stay at Oz by the Sea! The house was sparking clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We especially enjoyed the beautiful view of the ocean and the lovely breeze. Richard and Olivia are wonderful hosts and we LOVED staying at your home!
We recently retired from our full time jobs and careers in management and technology fields, and now enjoy traveling, and sharing our vacation rentals with others from around the world. We are sharing our Hawaiian Home in Milolii with our friends, and guests. If you love a relaxed location with your loved ones, this is the place to come. We are off the beaten path, and a great location for exploring the fantastic Big Island of Hawaii
Our property is in a rural setting, strategically located on the Big Island of Hawaii, near the ancient fishing village of Milolii. This property is a great get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. We love the ocean views, the quiet in the evening, and beautiful lava landscape of the area. The local people are nice, fresh fruit is available at many roadside stands, along with the fresh catch from the local fisherman.
