Check-in and out were seamless. The property is as described and very comfortable for our family group. All three beds were very comfortable. Being just steps away from Mill Bay was great! We loved being able to go the the beach there daily. Very quiet location with easy access to everything the Island has to offer. Perfect place to spend a week on my 60th Birthday bucket list trip.
Group of 8 and we were mountain running. We needed a full kitchen to cook 3 meals a day and quality beds for quality sleep. We got it! Weâll be back next year!
Clean, well appointed, well equipped home. Watched whales while drinking coffee on the deck. Convenient to town (though Kodiak is not that large). Family was very comfortable. Would certainly stay there again.
We arrived in Kodiak on a Sunday night. Went immediately to the house. As this was a family trip we were very pleased with the lay out of the house giving everyone plenty of room. The trip was all about fishing but we did do a little sightseeing. Every night we were welcomed back by our wonderful house. It had everything we needed and was so close to all the things we did. This was our third trip to Kodiak and this house felt like home and it will be our place we will stay in the future.
The property was clean and well maintained. The kitchen was reasonably well supplied with the cookware we needed and the dishes were nice.
The highlight for us was a nice sized living room with plenty of space for us to visit with our group and family members from Kodiak.
There is a flight of stairs (wide and shallowish steps) to enter the house and then another flight inside the house to go upstairs or downstairs.
Since we were taking fish home, we wanted to weigh our boxes and found a luggage scale in the garage. That was helpful. The freezer portion of the kitchen refrigerator did a great job freezing our fish and the chest freezer in the garage easily held 2 50 lb boxes.
An excellent location. Great place to just kickback. Very quiet. Few miles from town, however, we like to explore and found some great places. Enjoyed the small-town atmosphere and the temperature. Did many activities. Like the fact that we had a kitchen and could cook what we enjoy. The markets are not we are used to where we come from, however, all was good. Excellent walking trails and near a very nice bay area. Highly recommend for those looking for a pleasant stay. This is not a place for anyone that may have a disability since there are outside steps and steps into the house. Overall, WE loved it. Host and housekeeper always available. Perhaps the only drawback is that the lock for the door is tricky and should be explained to future customers. Will stay again on future trips
Jennifer called me shortly after I booked and made sure I had her number and answered all my questions. Check in was easy, we had the door code.
Beth, the property manager is fantastic! She is very responsive. We stayed two weeks and had a couple of things come up, like a thermostat needed new batteries, and she came right away and checked all the thermostats.
The house was very well stocked with all the necessities. Garbage bags, all soaps and detergents, extra sheets, towels, blankets, even full size shampoo, conditioner, lotion, Kleenex!
The kitchen had all the necessary dishes, pots, pans, even had foil, plastic wrap, sandwich bags. We cooked almost all our meals and had everything we needed.
We enjoyed watching bunnies in the yard in the mornings and evenings.
Check out was super easy! No long list of things to do! Beth, the house manager said she takes care of everything, which was especially nice as we left at 4:30 am!
We loved the balcony, the ocean views were great and we could sit and listen to the waves watching the sunrise and set over the ocean.
We would absolutely stay here again!
Rental was occupied upon arrival, Very unhappy! Very expensive lesson learned!
Unit was occupied upon arrival. which is a big inconvenience on Kodiak Island AK. The owner was somewhat helpful, although she may not have known exactly how to handle the situation. I will give her credit for being somewhat helpful, although she could have communicated to us what the remedy was going to be. MY complaint here is to the VRBO team who has left me on hold for over 5 plus hours, on numerous occasions as I try to find some relief for the rooms and hours of wasted time. I have been trying to get in contact with someone who can make a decision in the VRBO world of crime. The second agent I spoke to after 2 plus hours told me I Needed to "self lodge". folks that is the kindest way to tell someone to- go to hell -I've ever heard
Been on the phone with VRBO at least 8 times, sent documents as requested, been transferred, been disconnected.
Comfortable townhouse in a quiet neighborhood near Mill Bay Beach
Once I was able to connect with the owner to get access to the house everything was very comfortable. She had some amenities for coffee and breakfast available. Kitchen well stock with dishes and cooking supplies. Plenty of towels and linens available. Very comfortable sleeping arrangements. My only compliant was trying to contact the owner prior to getting to Kodiak. Once I made the connection she was extremely welcoming and helpful.
Inside of duplex was very comfortable and attractive and well supplied. Close to Mills Bay Beach. Short walk to Safeway and Walmart and St. Mary's Church. Description of a panoramic ocean view was misleading. You can SEE the ocean, but it wasn't a panoramic view.
Nice tri-level three bedroon with great view from the deck! We found everything we needed, and the garage was extremely useful for our fishing stuff. The freezer came in handy as did the BBQ. Hope to stay again, thanks Jennifer!
