Summary:
This is one of the best locations in San Diego we are within walking distance to the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, restaurants, bars, coffee shops and many other attractions this city has to offer. Our home has been completely updated and made comfortable for groups up to 6 people. We love being a part of our wonderful AirBnB community and welcome all outstanding members from all different backgrounds. The Neighborhood:
Hillcrest is a neighborhood in San Diego located northwest of Balboa Park. It is an accepting urban village with a small town feel. Hillcrest is known for its tolerance, diversity and locally-owned businesses including eclectic restaurants, cafes, bars, clubs and boutique shopping. It is also known for its salons and spas, medical offices, two major hospitals and the largest concentration of LGBTQ+ owned businesses in the city.

Balboa Park is a cultural oasis that includes 17 museums, gardens galore and the world-famous San Diego Zoo. At 1,200 acres, Balboa Park is one of North America’s most iconic urban parks and a must see on any visit to San Diego

Getting Around:
Being in the heart of the city, Balboa Park and Hillcrest are accessible by a number of major streets. Additionally, Hillcrest is among the most walkable neighborhoods in San Diego with a neighborhood Walk Score of 87. Rideshare is easily accessible. Many Bird scooters and bikes nearby.

Great location, nicely updated, smaller, but had all the amenities necessary for our family. I loved the little table on the balcony to have coffee in the morning and take advantage of the sea . Super close to Balboa Park. And everything you wanna see in San Diego. The property manager was very responsive. We really enjoyed our stay.

This VRBO was an excellent find! It is very close to the SD Zoo and Balboa Park, and it was an easy drive to many SD beaches, La Jolla, LIttle Italy - really anywhere you might want to visit in SD. The beds were comfortable; the kitchen was clean and stocked sufficiently; and the living room area was comfortable. There's also a dedicated parking space, which was an added bonus!! We had a few questions for the host, and we received replies nearly instantly. It was very easy to communicate. Stellar VRBO all around.

Nice, well kept and clean property in a beautiful neighborhood near Balboa Park ( 15-20 min walk to the zoo ). Free parking and central location make this apt an excellent choice when visiting San Diego. The owner is very responsive and the unit has everything you'll need.

Perfect Stay Near Balboa Park!

We had a wonderful stay at the Beautiful Hillcrest Canyon View property! The location was perfect — walking distance to Balboa Park and close to the San Diego Zoo, which made it very convenient for our trip. The property was extremely clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The check-in process was smooth and easy, with clear instructions provided ahead of time. Great location, near all of the attractions. Safe neighborhood and easy parking, we would stay here again. The place could use a touch up for paint scuffs, and worn furniture, but overall was a great place to stay.

Relaxation awaits in our gorgeous and spacious and gorgeous 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom unit, with new updates. The living area is very spacious with sofa, large TV and great views. The kitchen is fully stocked and ready for cooking. We provide coffee as well. A private patio awaits with beautiful canyon views!

Location is everything: We are located in the heart of San Diego's Hillcrest neighborhood. Steps away from exquisite dining, night life and shopping. Less than one mile to the world famous San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park which hosts various museums, an Organ Pavilion, period architecture, street performers and local artisans.
A short drive to local beaches, harbor excursions and sights, the Padre's Petco Park, Sea Word and SDCCU Stadium (formally Qualcom Stadium).
