Upperville est juste Ă  l'ouest et Great Meadows au sud. Des vignobles entourent la rĂ©gion. Magnifique musĂ©e d'art, Ă©vĂ©nements Ă©questres, festival du film, dĂ©gustations de vins, restaurants, shopping, belles Ă©glises, polo pendant la saison, Salamandar Spa, la boutique de NoĂ«l Emmanuel et bien plus encore Ă  apprĂ©cier autour de Middleburg. Cozy cottage close to Middlesburg

My adult daughter and infant granddaughter and I wanted to go to the Christmas festivities in Midldesburg. We stayed at Sandi & Peter’s cozy cottage that is in a beautiful wooded, hilly setting. The cottage had everything we needed to be comfortable. Sandi was quick to respond to any inquiries, provided helpful information on activities and restaurants and had a nice welcome basket of snacks and fruit. The twin beds in the bedroom can be made into a king if a couple is visiting. I hope to come back sometime and would stay at their cottage again if we get the chance.

Nice getaway

I came here to getaway from the city life and slow down. It was such a lovely stay, Sandi was very tentative to our needs. We had a relaxing and quiet time. The only thing I would say is that the wifi was extremely slow, at one point nothing would load for us, however, it was not a problem for me since this visit was for me to disconnect from everything to include electronics. My friend needed to send a work email and was not able to do so. The town was merely a 10 minute drive and there were a few wineries that were relatively close. Inside the cabin we were greeted with snacks and waters , the cabin was clean and it felt homie. It was pleasant sitting outside reading my book while embracing nature. This was exactly what I needed.

Comfy and quiet

After car broke down and we had an unexpected extra guest who drove out of her way to help me, host accommodated our emergency for an extra expensive fee. Other than smell of mold the cottage was comfortable and we enjoyed breakfast outside in the garden area. Owner lives on site and is super involved with the guest experience.

Clean, cozy, and cute

This wonderful little cottage is conveniently located in a quiet area just a few miles from the heart of main street Middleburg. The spacious living room boasted comfy seating and beautiful classic decor. The kitchen and bathroom were very tidy and had everything you would need for your stay. The bed was very comfortable and the bedroom was large with plenty of storage.

A New Tradition

We were at a loss to find high quality lodging, at a reasonable price, where we could celebrate my wife’s birthday (Dec 18) with our Scottish terrier (“Rufus”) when our usual inn (in MD) stopped accepting pets. My search took me to a VRBO listing for a “charming cottage” in Middleburg, VA. Pet friendly, it looked as if it might meet our needs. Did it ever! Booking was simple and Sandi (the hostess) was very responsive to my inquiries. We arrived during a major rain storm, yet the cottage was cozy, warm, and welcoming. It is extremely neat and clean, and, despite the very accurate photos, the cottage still exceeded our expectations. We appreciated the tasteful dĂ©cor and many thoughtful touches
water bowl and biscuits for Rufus, birthday champagne and a greeting card, lots of area guidebooks, comfortable bed, and a very well outfitted kitchen with everything but a stove (not permitted by regulation). Located in a neighborhood with estate homes, the cottage is EXTREMELY quiet. Middleburg is a 10 minute drive away via U.S. Route 50, and, with all the shops decorated for the holiday, it was picture-perfect. Finally, Sandi could not have been more accommodating. We know accepting guests with pets can be a gamble and we (and Rufus) do not take pet acceptance for granted. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back. A new tradition is born! Oh, and about that recent 3-star review in a sea of otherwise 5-stars: We saw it. We ignored it. We’re so glad we did!

Quaint and convenient lodging

Stayed here while I was attending the Middleburg Film Festival with a friend and it could not have been a better fit for both of us. The beds were nice and made up, the kitchen was extremely handy and Sandi was easy to contact whenever something needed to be cleared up. It's a perfect spot for a person or couple to stay at while exploring Middleburg.

Perfect Horse Country Hunt Box

My friends and I came to hunt in the plains & middleburg & this was a great location to stay. Sandy was a great host with good communication with us before the stay. Cottage was easy to find & well appointed. Will definitely stay here again.

Surprised listing wasn't what we saw and expected

Mold smell was unwelcome as a first impression opening the door. It eventually went away. Dog hair on bed and sofa was not clean. Shallow freestanding Bathroom shelf fell forward on me when I leaned back to reach for toilet paper holder in an awful location. Next time I leaned back, 3 huge towels fell on top of me - there was no place to hang them. Sink was not clean with scum on drain. Bathroom and corner shower are extremely small. Sliding barn door came off of hinge and had to be put back on track. The experience here was very frustrating. The cleaning fee should be included in price of the room - do I want to pay this much or not? overpriced due to unclean areas and lack of amenities. Window air conditioner with plug thru bottom of window let in cold air overnight. Sandy was defensive when we discussed our surprises and she told me I was difficult. She said next time we should stay at The Salamander. Her condescending comments were uncalled for. I read all reviews which showed one old rating at one star. Should have taken that as a warning. The kitchen is extremely small with no table to eat at except a very small table on grass outside. I couldn't find the silverware since it was on an open shelf with a piece of paper on top of it. Was it an English Cottage? No way, since we had visited the Cotswolds for 2 weeks and stayed in Cotswold Inns and Hotels. Was it OK? yes, location was good, that’s all. Would we stay there again? Definitely not!

Great location!

The cottage is in a perfect location! Close to all the major site seeing attractions, wineries, etc. The host was very nice and communication was great. For coffee users - the house comes with a keurig and the hosts provided k-cups so you don't need to bring your own coffee unless you're particular :)

Perfect for our needs

I rented this cottage for a business associate who came to town to do some artwork for us at our nearby Middleburg property. He said the property was clean, quiet, and so close to us. The host was wonderful to work with. I definitely plan on booking with her in the future.

Weekend stay for family wedding

We enjoyed our stay at the the cottage, perfect location to wedding venue and after party. Host contacted us with the check in info we needed and answered our questions promptly. Beautiful horse country, quiet wooded cottage!

Best VRBO experience ever. Sandi & Peter are warm, attentive hosts respectful of their guests' quiet time and privacy. Sandi was there to greet us when we pulled into the property after dark to ensure we found our way. Even the smallest request was met promptly with a smile. The property is quiet but just miles from Middleburg's bustling shopping and dining. Sandi also provided outstanding dining suggestions. The art and furnishings of the cottage are a perfect fit for the Virginia hunt country location. Will definitely stay again!

Quiet and Cozy

We enjoyed our stay in this quiet, cozy guest suite. Greeted warmly by the owners upon arrival, they checked with us each day to see if we needed anything. Located near downtown Middleburg, it was the perfect getaway for a quiet weekend.

Neighborhood, insurance, and community restrictions did not allow 3, 70 year old women, 2 cars, who only knit, to stay in this rental. Last minute plans allowed another friend to join us. Owner held firm to 2 people only. Be forewarned. . Certainly an owner's right, but will look elsewhere for future stays in that region.

The Ms. is an active/retired professional born in this area. Mr. Pegg (a Brit) was born in India to British parents, later living in England and Wales. He happily shares stories of his work in Africa where he was game warden of Uganda National Parks. Qualifications and love of wildlife would later lead him to become a safari guide in Kenya. In Middleburg Mr. Pegg owned Pegg Thoroughbred and is noted for the production of a Derby favorite - Bodemeister. Currently, both Mr. and Mrs. are active organic gardeners, campaign for wildlife and are actively involved in anti-poaching campaigns as well as a history in hospital fundraising and other fundraising projects. The summer campaign is against weeds which we hope our guests will overlook if a week when the weeds won. -- We do ask guests to turn lights off when not in use and to recycle. It will be our pleasure to welcome you.

LOCATION close to village of M'burg and all that surrounds area. Sprawling open laws and a meandering stream add to the ambience of this beautiful, private property -- where families have been raised and memories cataloged. During season - flower gardens invite nature including dozens of hummingbirds and butterflies. Hawks call to their mates as a fox sometimes strolls by.
