The location was wonderful right on the beach. The townhouse was okay. It definitely needs some improvement, more than half of the electrical outlets didnât work, the dishwasher did not clean the dishes. If you have more than three people in the townhouse the ac struggles to cool. They only supply two trash bags, one pot holder, one dish towel and a handy wipe.
Nice littke place rhat was just about perfect for our needs. There was some additional cleaning that the property could have used (some cobwebs and dust in places), but overall, it was nice. The people renting the other half smoked out on the deck, which was annoying as I could not sit out there at times, but that is the risk with a duplex. The location was great being not far down on S Fletcher. I wish there had been some instructions about what we should do with used towels and sheets before leaving.
The best thing about Unit B is the location and the wildlife in the dunes. The unit itself needs an upgrade, and if not that, at least minor repairs and deep cleaning should be done. Previous guests had left a plastic bag of bait behind the ice maker bin, and the freezer and fridge smelled terrible. We found the plastic bag...not sure why the cleaners didnât. Their is rust around the sink drain in the bath upstairs. Just a couple of examples. One other unpleasant incident: the owner in Unit A accused us of trespassing and informed us it was private property when he saw me outside the unit. If he was curious, he could have just asked me if we were renting there. His wife apologized profusely and said it was because there was no vehicle there. Well, the other person with me had gone to the store! This should not have happened.
Got there and was no air conditioning the first night. Had to wait to get it repaired the next day. Furnace filter was disgusting. Alot of dust in the condo. Furniture badly needs replaced. Master bed very uncomfortable. The couches are way way way worn. You sit and you sink cause they are so worn and then you can't get up. Would not recommend elderly or medical problem people to rent this unit. Kitchen was not well equipped. My husband had to go buy a pan to make pancakes. Windows are filthy and need cleaned. The ocean view is really nice though. We enjoyed our stay though regardless. Would not stay in this unit again. Just does not fit my needs and comfort.
The only good thing about this home was the location. Everything else was terrible. 1st of all its duplex that's listed as a house. You have to share both upstairs and downstairs patio with neighbors, with no divide. Furniture, appliances, beds, etc. are all from the 80's. Carpet is very nasty and it stinks really bad in the place. This owner is really greedy, they could take a fee thousand dollars and make this place better. Would not stay here again.
Great location. Cleaning service leaves alot to be desired. We had to was the dishes for use. Had to install several. Light bulbs. Could not be.on the deck in the rain for the ceiling is sagging and leaks in the middle. Over all enjoyably week.
We loved this house & location!
A family of 4 with 2 teen boys. We enjoyed time on the beach, close by stores & so many restaurants to choose from. Amelia Island has it all! The relaxing & beautiful beach, shark tooth hunting, shopping, great food, & so much more! The house was very clean! We had everything we needed. All linens were clean & comfortable. The beds were a bit creaky & could use an update. Along with the furniture in the living room. With 4 people we found it difficult to sit & relax once the sun went down. The pullout bed in the love seat was really uncomfortable! So much so that I think the kids wouldâve rather slept on the floor. With that being said, we would 100% stay at this house again with nothing being changed. The location is fantastic & we fell in love with Amelia Island.
The house was as described. We compromise for the small size because it was right on the beach. The biggest problem was the squeaky beds. I never heard beads squeaking like that! All thee of them! We didnât get much sleep because of that. All the doors squeak and master bedroom door could not be closed at allâŠ
Beautiful view of the ocean. Steps from the sand. However the house was very dated and smelled like a dog. The space was smaller in person than the photos seemed to show. The sleeper sofa was terrible. Like sleeping on a metal rod. We stayed 5 nights..but if this house was anywhere besides ocean view it would not have been worth the money. The view from the top bedroom was absolutely incredible.
The house is right on the beach. We enjoyed sitting on the patio for coffee or drinks. It is a duplex so we met our neighbors and enjoyed talking to them. There was a marsh bunny and a tortoise which came to visit behind the house! It was fun to watch them. The location is great. It is close to everything but the beach area was never over crowded. When we arrived the wrong keys had been left in the lock box for us. A call to the property management and it situation was quickly resolved. We had a wonderful trip and would look to stay here again anytime we are in the area.
My husband and I go to Amelia Island pretty much annually. First time staying at this property. We loved the view and the ease of walking down to the beach. We had plenty of room. Had a family in the other unit. They were great.
