We were very surprised by this condo. Everything was in excellent condition. Like new kitchen, like new comfortable furniture, simply decorated and not cluttered. Even the interior walls looked recently painted. The balcony provided shade and sun almost the entire day. I spent a lot of time on the super beach only steps outside the pool area.
The building, Alexander Tower, is older but is well maintained. We like it better than the other buildings we've toured in the area. It has new elevators, the best pool on Hollywood Beach, pleasant and helpful valets handling cars, groceries and luggage. And the Broadwalk is in easy walking distance.
The owner was extremely friendly and accommodating. We stayed for two months and most definitely want to return to this unit.
The Good: Owner's warm welcome and good orientation. Owner's quick response to few water leak problems. Excellent ocean view with stunning sunrise view from bedrooms and the balcony. Great swimming pool. Convenient location with Broadwalk within walking distance, malls and grocery stores within a short driving distance.
The Bad: Fees for Beach Chairs and Umbrelas(!); Condo could use a thorough cleaning, and bathtubs and floors can use a good scrub. Dust were quite obvious on the ledges and closets. Dirty Mops/bucket/Rags in the closet (New or properly cleaned cleaning supplies would help renter keep the condo clean), Stained bed spread, dirty clothes in the dresser drawers etc. (Note: Owner responded immediately. Cleaned out dresser and brought in new spread and sheets). No washer/Dryer in the unit. Circa 1965 OLD building.
The Ugly: Had to watch NFL playoff game in the bedroom as Living room TV, for reasons unknown, had broadcast in Spanish that I could not understand; The valet staff - although not rude, they were not particularly friendly either. Tips are expected. Front desk is a joke.
With some positive and some negative experience, we enjoyed our stay.
