My name is Mindy. I am a mom to 1 daughter and Nini to 2 grandsons. Happily Retired. Full-time Silver Lake resident. During the time that my home is being rented, I stay w/my daughter who also lives in Silver Lake.
“Our Happy Place” was built with love by my amazing parents, Lyle and Nancy. Each summer and on the holidays, the whole family would get together and fill this home to the brim with love and laughter! It continues to be the place where new memories are made. Sorry, but NO pets are allowed!
It’s important that those who are considering staying here to know that this is NOT a Frat house! So, if you’re looking for a place to be loud and raise HE##, my home is NOT the place for you. We want our guests to relax, have a wonderful time and make memories.

IMPORTANT, if you choose to rent my home
Golden Twp is getting very strict on short term rentals. My home is approved to accommodate up to 12 people. No more than 12! A maximum of 6 vehicles, including trailers/haulers in the driveway.
NO RV’s, motor homes or tents for extra guests.

You are responsible for any damages done to the property during your stay. You understand the rules and will respect my home/property and that of my neighbors as well. There is a 11:00 p.m. Noise Ordinance. If you’re outside, be respectful of this.

*If I receive complaints, it will be addressed. If it continues, police will be called and you will pack up and must leave immediately. No refunds. I’m sorry if this sounds harsh, but I cannot afford to have my rental permit pulled.

Since this is my home, I only rent for 6 to 8 weeks during the season and then I block out the rest of the calendar. To ensure your desired dates, you should book at least 4-6 months in advance.

Perfectly located in the middle of everything! If you click on the "map" section, it will show you where the property is located and the distance it is from Silver Lake, Lake Michigan, Mac Wood Dune Rides, Little Sauble Pointe Lighthouse and downtown Silver Lake. Our Happy Place is conveniently located close to everything, but offers privacy as well.
Once you are here, it is our hope that you feel as if you are at your "home away from home". This truly is Our Happy Place. Our family vacationed here for many years. One day, our parents purchased a lot on Hunter Creek. Through the years, the lots next door became available and mom and dad jumped at the chance...now they owned 3 lots. My dad and a few of his GM buddies lovingly built this home in the 90's. My parents retired to Silver Lake @ Our Happy Place and were able to enjoy it for many years. Today, "Our Happy Place" is being enjoyed by their kids, grand kids, great-grand kids, friends and guests, such as you and yours.
If you are looking for a great place to vacation with family and/or friends, then I truly believe my home is the right choice. As stated, we are part of the Silver Village Assoc. Our Happy Place sits on 3 lots and Hunter Creek which feeds right into Silver Lake! Step inside and you will feel as if you are HOME. Open and spacious floor plan. 4 bedrooms, 1 full bath on the main floor and a 1/2 bath on the 2nd level. Nice and comfortable furniture and beds. Large deck in back with a gas grill and plenty of seating for outside dining and/or just relaxing. The 3 lots give you plenty of room for outdoor games and privacy, too.
Located right next to the private Silver Village Association pedestrian bridge that crosses over Hunter Creek, and just a short walk up the dirt road leads you to the private SVA Communal Pool and Playground. Also, Craig's Cruisers, The Chicken Shack, Smashed Burgers, Dune Dippity, The Sand Restaurant, Silver Scoops, Silver Pointe Store, The Sandbox, Sun Chaser's and a few clothing and souvenir shops, too! Just a few minutes drive, you will find beautiful Silver Lake State Park. It welcomes boaters , swimmers and campers! Parkside Grocery is conveniently located across the street. Continue down the road about 3 miles, and a scenic winding road brings you to beautiful Lake Michigan and Little Sable Pointe Lighthouse. We have the most breathtaking sunsets!
The town of Hart is just 8 miles from Silver Lake. In Hart, you will find Hansen Foods, Dollar General, banking, shopping, LaFiesta, the Pink Elephant restaurants and the famous LaProbadita which offers authentic and delicious Mexican cuisine. McDonald's, Big Hart Brewery, Charlie’s Family Restaurant and Subway, too! The quaint town of Pentwater is less than 15 miles away. In Pentwater, you will find numerous places to shop and dine. A beautiful state park, and fishing charters, too!
