We can confirm every positive review about this rental - historic yet modern and comfortable accommodations and just the perfect location to enjoy old town, the sea and the mountain views. The hosts give you a warm and welcoming feeling. What is different in our experience exactly in this property is that it gave us a glimpse of the typical Altean life. It was a magical experience especially as we contemplate on living in Altea. This property is more than a structure. It can offer you the true, local Altean experience.
This property is wonderful! We enjoyed our stay in this clean, spacious and welcoming flat. Best of all, is the central location above the historic portal with lovely views of Altea in all directions. The only caution would be the entryway stairs for anyone not used to climbing tricky steps. Otherwise itâs the perfect place to stay!
This place is SO much better than the description and photos! Absolutely magical! There are multiple balconies complete with twinkle lights and bougonvillia, each with a view more lovely than the last. Located in maybe the most charming square ever! Maryanne thought of everything when furnishing the place, too. Absolutely delightful! Possibly in the summer months, it might be loud late from the restaurants, but everything was wrapped up before we went to bed so we had no problems. And just in case each bed had earplugs on the nightstand...more thoughtfulness! We definitely hope to return and spend more time.RY
My husband (Salva) is from here and really what is not to love! The nature (sea and mountains), the architecture (beautiful white buildings), the convenience (Altea has everything you need, shops, facilities, services), the people (Altea still very much has its Spanish soul despite being popular with tourists).
It is actually a cultural monument. It was built in the 17th century and is part of the walls that protected the town. The flat is directly above the entrance and has balconies that used to be used for the sentries guarding the entrance.
