Castle Kanaloa at Kona #1902 - This spectacular ocean front accommodation allows you to relax in splendor listening to the soothing sounds of the ocean where dolphins can be seen and whales too, when in season. Enjoy dreamy sunsets lounging on your spacious lanai complete with wet bar, refrigerator, island teak dining table and lounge chairs. Full-size kitchen and both bathrooms have granite countertops over rich Koa wood cabinetry.

The fully equipped kitchen has a stainless-steel double sink, dishwasher, electric range, large refrigerator, cookware and utensils. Both bedrooms have louvered windows that open to the sound of ocean waves to lull you to sleep after a day of island activities. The master bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed, large windows, island-style wicker furniture, and gorgeous French doors leading to a large romantic granite-encased soaking tub for your private enjoyment. The en suite master bathroom has a black granite countertop vanity and a spacious walk-in shower featuring a rain shower head, matching handheld shower and a granite bench.

The second bedroom has a queen-size bed, wicker furniture and lots of natural light. The second bathroom has a large counter top with two sinks and a walk-in shower featuring granite and stone detail. You will be comfortably cool with ceiling fans throughout the unit and for an additional fee Daiken customizable air conditioning is also available.
Other amenities in this luxurious unit include washer/dryer, high-speed wireless internet, cable television and beach toys for your outings.

Fantastic get away

Absolutely loved our stay! The property had 3 pools, beautiful landscaping and our unit was amazing! We had an ocean front unit with a large lanai and breathtaking views of the sunset ….looking forward to returning!,,

Loved the view and the Lanai

Very nice unit and excellent location. Hard to beat the beautiful ocean view from the Lanai. Condo is updated nicely, very clean, well managed. Everything we needed was there. The tables and chairs on the lanai are perfect. Descriptions and photos are accurate. Pool area was perfect for our relaxation and swim. Definitely would stay again, missing the waves already.

A Room with a View

The condo is spacious and met all of our technology needs, which is not always the case. The view from the lanai, dining room, living room and kitchen is breath-taking! We could not get enough of it, even my 12 and 14 year old boys loved spending time on the lanai hanging out. There are lots of outlets for charging laptops, phones, tablets, so no one was without access when needed. The WIFI also was reliable and had good coverage. There is a desk in the master bedroom that was very useful and included USB outlets, too. The kitchen is well equipped and was very clean. The bathrooms are spacious and allowed four of us to be very comfortable. The showers are amazing! Parking is in a covered carport, which was very nice in keeping the car comfortable in the hot sun. Great property amenities! My only suggestions/concerns are related to the air-conditioning, property management response and sleeping accommodations for six people, as noted in the posting. I had called the 800 number for the management company to ask some questions, after having emailed 48 hours earlier and not receiving a response. One question I had was related to the air-conditioning being included in the cost. When I called the 800 number, I was told that it was included. When Crystal from the management company finally responded to my email, she did not address any of my questions, including the a/c item. So, I called the Castle management office directly at the property. I was told to bring my confirmation and they would help make it work. When I arrived to check in, the person at the desk said that he would have to talk to his manager and would get back to me. No one ever got back to me, despite my leaving two additional messages at the office. We never got the a/c, but when I checked out, I was charged for six days of air-conditioning! It seems that the luxury level of the condo should include the a/c. Additionally, there are only two beds, accommodating four people. While we had four people, it was two teenage boys, their aunt and their mother. We needed an additional bed, so the management company proactively (greatly appreciated) left a deflated single blowup mattress and sheets for us to use. My son who slept on the floor mattress was beneath the ceiling fan and asked for a blanket. There were no blankets and when I asked for the office about this, I was told they would look into it and get back to me. No one got back to me. I used beach towels as a blanket for him.

Definitely will return if we come back to the same area. Excellent location, clean house. Unobstructed view to the ocean to watch sunset.

Wonderful

The apartment was wonderful and the location better than wonderful. The beds were firm, and the patio furniture so comfortable. It had everything you would want. Hated to leave.

Ants and spiders everywhere. No response from management

This property is beautiful and would have been the perfect end to our trip. Unfortunately, we had ants everywhere (in our beds, clothes, and we were constantly picking them off our skin) and little spiders all over the kitchen (we didn’t use the kitchen our entire stay because it was so gross). When we messaged VBRO host they said they would contact the resort GM. But the resort GM never called us back. The maintenance person we flagged down in a golf cart was rude and unhelpful. I complained to the front desk, but was tired of dealing with it, and we decided to leave the property early. This “resort” is actually a residential apartment complex. Don’t be fooled by the “resort”; they don’t care at all about the condos or the people that bought them as investment properties for short term rental. Terrible experience.

Beautiful location!

Loved loved loved the location of this property. The unit was as described. The pool is amazing. The only slight issue was cable did not work on any of the TVs. I contacted the front desk via email and phone. It took a few days to get a person ( I could have walked down but was busy). They said They were sending a maintenance person but they never did. Thankfully there was Wi-Fi and the children had iPads to keep them busy at night. I would absolutely stay here again and probably will next time I come out! The water is literally feet from the lanai!
