The photos really didn't give a detailed example of the house. It appeared online that the cabin had a bigger layout than what it actually is. The house was not clean, there were bugs and crumbs all throughout the cabin. The windows and walls you could see the moisture on them from the inside The driveway entrance is really sketchy, and you could almost roll your call if you aren't careful enough.
This was the perfect cabin for me and my family. We had a great time staying here. Not far from downtown gatlinburg. And just a few minutes from ober. We where not bothered by anyone and the host made us very aware if we had any trouble with anything just to let them know. We had no troubles at all. Perfect spot for a relaxing get a way
The cabin delivered everything we wanted, plenty of fireplaces, bedroom and bathrooms for everyone. The basement was where we spent most of our time play pool and games by the fire! The roads to get the cabin were narrow, but thatâs common in Gatlinburg, people just need to be alert and donât get too far on the edge of the road.
Thoroughly disgusted. First, we were notified that we may not be able to check in when were supposed to due to a recent storm. When emailed to verify our check in, we were told that our cabin was ready. When we showed up for check in, we were told that our cabin was NOT ready and we had to find a hotel for the night but since this was our "free" night, we would not be refunded or reimbursed, even though we were told the day before by an employee that the cabin was ready. When you walk into the cabin you are completely overwhelmed by an odor that never goes away. Not sure if it's pesticide or mothballs but that's what it smelled like. The first night an extremely large rat ate through the ceiling and screamed and threw acorns at my children downstairs. The management came out and patched the hole but by the time we left-a day early-the rat had started to eat through it again and it was obvious by all the patches on the ceiling that this was common. The rat ran through the walls and scratched and screamed nonstop throughout the night. Horrible. The location was great and you could tell that the cleaning company seriously did their best but the cabin is severely run down and needs to have a major extermination and remodel done. Would not recommend or stay there again.
This property is nice and has a family feel. We had a great stay and while it could use some updating, it was a great place for us to be together as a family. Views are limited and hot tub needs some work. Check in process was awesome and welcoming !! We will be back for sure!
Overall we enjoyed our stay, but the property felt overall run down, as if the cleaning staff take care of basics, but there was no personal touch the way you have at some more family run cabins. The agreement procedure after we booked the cabin felt a little over the top as there were lots of rules and regulations and forms to sign outside of VRBO. Check-in when we arrived was easy enough.
When we arrived, we found some socks in one of the bedrooms and a few other personal items that the cleaning staff missed.
The location is great and very close to the attractions of Gatlinburg, but isolated enough that you get that âcabin in the woodsâ feel. The deck is lovely and the view is worth the price.
The kitchen has the basics and everything worked. My father-in-law was unhappy with the cable channels (very few sport options). The rooms could really use sprucing up. There was quite a bit of rickety furniture and the upstairs king bed is extremely soft and worn out.
The driveway is very steep but not unmanageable in the Fall. We had a few bugs as expected, but nothing crazy.
We enjoyed the location - in the middle of a bear trail - saw bears every day. Utensils we're excellent - had everything that I needed. Driveway was a little tricky!!! All in all was a nice family vacation.
