Great place to stay. A fantastic value with plenty of places to eat in walking distance and the metro is relatively close. Like staying in a piece of history as the place has been around, but very well maintained and clean. The stairs are narrow, but that is what you get in a place that old. Stayed with my wife and 4 kids and we all loved it. There is also a GIGANTIC TV which was perfect form when we had already walked 18,000 steps and needed to crash. short version: Loved it!!
We had a wonderful stay! Philip was always available and helpful. The property was clean and very accommodating for our needs. I loved the historic feel of the townhome. We enjoyed many different restaurants in the area. My daughter and I especially loved being about a block from Midnight Treats Cookie Shop! The metro was close and we used it to get in and out of DC while we hit up all the sites on our list. We even took it to the airport when we left.
The location was great and close to a Metro stop. The house was charming and functional overall! The sleeper sofa was unsleepable and parking only accommodated one car. There are two flights of stairs to get to the third bedroom and bathroom. Overall, it was a great stay but it did not comfortably accommodate 8 people.
Loved staying in this historical home. Plenty of space and loved visiting the store fronts and learning about its history. Also, need to have good knees to get up two flights of stairs where the bedrooms are.
This was a great spot for getting to Old Town and taking the metro to DC. The condo was a perfect size for 6 long time friends. We enjoyed ourselves very much!
We had a great time here. The house is perfectly situated in Old Town Alexandria and is perfect for a family trip or a weekend getaway. We walked down King Street every day and itâs very close to the metro or a short drive into DC. Philip is a great host and we had everything we needed.
Great place to stay if visiting Washington DC with your family.
We really enjoyed our stay. The location in Old Town Alexandria is great. We were two blocks off of King Street where all the action is and there is a free shuttle to take you down to the riverfront. It will also take you to the Metro station which is a great way to go back and forth to the city so that you donât have to deal with parking, though the Metro station is also just a short walk from the property so you donât have to ride the shuttle. We got coffee and bagels every morning at Call Your Mother, two blocks away on King Street. The property has three bedrooms, two and a half baths and a pull out couch downstairs so it was plenty big for my family. Philip the host was very responsive and I would definitely stay here again.
This is a cute townhome in Old Town Alexandria within walking distance to more restaurants, bars, shops, than you can count. It was also only four blocks to the King Street Metro and Alexandria train stations, which was very convenient for getting into DC without having to fight traffic and worry about parking. There is also a dedicated off street parking space in the rear for one vehicle, which was very nice given the location. The owner was very responsive when I reached out with questions, however, there are a couple of things you should note prior to booking. Even though the listing says the property sleeps 8 (it does), you will be charged an extra person fee for anyone over 6 guests. If you should happen to book for a party of more than 4, there is nowhere in the house for everyone to sit and eat. The only table is a high top in the kitchen that theoretically seats four, but even that was a tight squeeze. The kitchen itself was adequately furnished with a variety of pots and pans and utensils. Some of the furniture was in disrepair/falling apart, there were multiple areas on the walls, mostly near baseboards on the main level and the second floor bathroom sink, where the paint and plaster were chipping and falling on the floor/counter, and multiple door handles were loose and close to falling off. All in all, we enjoyed our stay at the property but a bit more attention to detail in the maintenance and upkeep would truly set this location apart.
