This is the perfect house for families wishing to be close to Old Town Alexandria or Washington DC. Children will enjoy the large backyard. Wonderful restaurants and a cozy bakery are within walking distance. Parking is free for multiple cars. The Metro is only a 15 minute walk.
The interior design of the house uses high end Danish and Swedish furniture and photos from a world famous drone photographer from Sweden.
I am a coffee fanatic so I enjoy providing free whole bean coffee and Nespresso pods. Message me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Charming neighborhood. Many people walk, run, or walk their dogs in the neighborhood. Nearby neighbors are extremely friendly....feel free to say hello to any of the neighbors. Charming home with alot of character in a nice neighborhood. Home was clean and accurate to pictures. Host communication was good and he messaged me to make sure everything was okay. It was a nice stay without any issues.
I hosted out of town guests and we enjoyed the house. Mark was attentive and helped us out with a TV glitch that we had. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well-stocked, and we had plenty of towels. We used the deck, and enjoyed the neighborhood, but felt that the yard could have been maintained better.
Great location for exploring Alexandria and DC area. We walked to metro and went into DC for sightseeing. Easy to get around to all the sights. Had not been to Alexandria before and really liked the town. Very walkable and incredible history all around. House was great. Thank you.
This house was located in a quiet, beautiful and friendly neighborhood. It took about 15 min to walk to the metro. There were several good restaurants between the metro and the house where we could stop to eat on our way back to the house after a day of sight seeing. Aldi and Walgreen were also very close to the house. We loved the coffee!! Mark was very attentive to our needs and quick to respond. We would most definitely stay in this house again!
Mark was a great host, very responsive to any questions we had. House was very comfortable. We were close to town as well as to DC since we were in town for a family wedding! Had a great time !
Very nice and quiet house that is located neat (15 minute walk) to the train to get into DC. Also very close to nice dining in Alexandria. Mark was very helpful to us with the check in process and we had no issues during our stay.
We had family and dogs with us for a wedding nearby. The house is charming and was very comfortable for all of us. Love how dog friendly and coffee drinker friendly Mark has made this home. Super well-equipped kitchen. Excellent location!
Our visit to our daughterâs home in Alexandria for theThanksgiving holiday was made super special by our stay at Markâs house. Mark made the processes of check in and out easy and was very attentive during our stay. The house was roomy and well equipped for our adult family and in a friendly, well kept neighborhood with ample street parking. Having a fenced in backyard for our small dogs was extremely convenient. We would definitely like to stay at Markâs again on future visits to Alexandria.
The pictures in the VRBO listing do not depict the property as we found it - in sad need of maintenance and renovation. The house if very cramped and small for the number of guests who supposedly could be accommodated. And the back yard and deck were practically unusable. It appeared no yard work had been done for quite some time and the deck was in disarray. The most troubling problem, though, was the inadequacy of the HVAC system to make the house comfortable. The upstairs rooms were very hot while the basement was like a meat locker. The owner clearly recognizes the problem since the main upstairs bedroom has a window AC unit (not depicted in the pictures) and there was a large floor fan blocking the entrance to the other upstairs bedroom. The basement bathroom shower curtain had mold/mildew and the toilet paper holder was broken. While the proximity to Mt. Vernon Avenue and Del Ray in Alexandria is very convenient, the total cost of the VRBO rental, including required fees, totaling almost 1750 for three nights, was excessive, considering the quality of the accommodations.
Cozy neighborhood with great eats, tidy home with comfy beds. Clean and comfortable. A nice place in the middle of all that was my sonâs wedding ceremony, reception and Melsi.
This Alexandria home was a tranquil retreat after busy days touring Washington DC. It was clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The description of the home and location were accurate. Our host was a great communicator, providing us with necessary information and helpful tips. We would recommend this home without reservation.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Located in a quiet neighborhood and proximal to many restaurants and cafes. I would recommend if you are looking for a place that is family-friendly.
The backyard is large and a plus for families with young children and/or a dog(s). The teak table and dining chairs on the back deck are a great place to relax outdoors or to barbecue on the gas grill.
