This clean and cozy 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment is situated in a historic beachfront multiplex in East Beach area of Ocean View, near Virginia Beach, downtown Norfolk, ODU, CNU, naval bases, and many area attractions.
It has one queen bed, two twin beds, and a sleeper sofa. Wi-Fi throughout unit with a new smart TV in the master bedroom and living room. There is a washer and dryer inside the unit and central air conditioning/heat.
NOTE: Only ONE parking space is provided.

This multiplex unit is situated directly on the beach with a private access shared only with 2 other residents. The spacious master bedroom has a queen bed and TV, 2 closets with hangers, and connects to the bathroom with a tub/shower combo. The second bedroom/foyer area has 2 twin beds and a sleeper sofa. Linens are not provided for the sleeper sofa. The downstairs area has a kitchen, living room, and laundry room. This downstairs area has low ceilings and guests that are over 6'3" tall may have to crouch in certain areas, so please keep that in mind. Several beach chairs are provided and there may be additional furnishings added that are not pictured as this is a new listing. Once again, there is only one parking spot provided on the property, so do not attempt to park multiple vehicles. All mattresses are new memory foam and the Smart TVs are capable of streaming from any app you have.

Cute Beach Cottage!

We had a wonderful time! This place is affordable, pet friendly, and just a few steps away from the beach (beach is in the back yard). It’s adorable & has a vintage traditional beach house feel! The bed was firm but comfortable! The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. Very clean!!! We had a great experience with our host. This place is great!!!

Check-in was super easy. We just showed up and used the code provided to us. The parking is snug to get into, but very conveniently located for access from the apartment. The kitchen was cute. The gas stove was handy, but there are no pizza pans or baking pans, and you have to guess at the oven temp. Pot holders are available though. There's no dishwasher, which I didn't think about, but there was a nice kitchen sink. They have a programmable coffee maker, toaster, and microwave. The washer and dryer were great. Be sure to bring trash bags and laundry detergent. Overall, it's a very cute, peaceful, comfortable place to stay, and we would gladly return!

Host not communicating

I got charged 75 dollars. Tried to contact the host to ask why that was for but i didn’t get any answer. Text said cleaner complaint and left even thought we left the house clean. Not worthy the money.

Family

Size of property was perfect for our family. Air conditioner did not work the entire time, even after contacting the host before our arrival. I asked him specifically about the air because of his last review. The house is a split between 4 houses. The walk to the beach was not safe to walk barefoot. The sand was filled with metal, glass, and trash. Could have used more kitchen utensils to accommodate our stay for the 5 days. Loved having the washer and dryer. Overall the property was clean inside and a great fit for us.

Liked the beach access

I have stayed in many VRBO’s in different states and I would say the provided amenities are the least I’ve ever experienced with a host. While the location of the unit having direct access to the beach was certainly ideal there were many other features that left us feeling like this rental was lacking. The property is an older unit but the condition of some things should be improved. The bathroom door doesn’t close well and locks with a secondary hook latch (easy solution would be a privacy door knob). We were provided a very small amount of hand soap for the duration of our 4 night stay (photo included) and only 2 rolls of toilet paper for the entire 4 nights with 4 people. (We provided more for ourselves and didn’t bother contacting he host because of the lengthy delay we experienced with the dirty bedding). When we arrived we discovered the bedsheets were dirty on one of the beds and I contacted the host immediately. We didn’t receive clean sheets until 10pm that evening. I also had to request laundry soap so we could wash the provided bedding. I would note for anyone staying to be very aware that the parking could be challenging for someone with a large SUV , full size van or truck with an extended cab. The shared parking spots are extremely tight and if all units are full you may need some assistance backing out of the property.

Terrible!!!

I realize this may be a historic home but that’s no excuse for the condition we found it in. Cleaning lady was still there after listed check in time. Floors were dirty with hair in the bathroom floor and tub. A/C wasn’t working properly and when contact was made with host he said he would come check it but he was “far out of town”. I asked if someone could check it out on Sunday he said yes but we saw no one. Host NEVER followed up with us about A/C. Host said cooking could cause the temp to rise in the house but we ate out no use of stove /oven. Had to open windows to attempt to cool the house to less than 78 degrees. Screens on windows had tears in them not a comfort for bugs and other creatures that could crawl in. Steps in home are extremely steep. Beds were metal frames with foam mattress that felt like rocks. Washcloths were stained with thin towels provided. There was also a stain on bedspread in main bedroom. Remote for TV upstairs was missing when host was asked about this he said just to use the one remote for both TVs on different level?!? When the drawers were opened in the first bedroom where you enter the home some man’s dirty underwear were in the top drawer and I wasn’t about to remove them! We have used VRBO for years and have never experienced anything this horrible!!! Safe yourself some pain and stay down the road at the Best Western we did and that’s the only thing that saved our trip! Stay away from this property!
