We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house overlooking the pond. The patio is great and the views are unreal! The location is only a short walk from Mac's restaurant and a 5 minute drive to town! The house is older and does get hot in the summer, so be aware of that.
Loved spending time in this home! Truly comfy and cozy from the beds to the outdoor space. Excellent location to explore the National Seashore & Wellfleet Village. I will return!
The setting was fabulous! Enjoyed having breakfast on the deck overlooking the pond. Swimming and kayaking in the pond was delightful.
Cottage was a bit difficult to find upon our arrival so better directions would have been helpful. Kitchen was well equipped but needed to purchase kitchen and bathroom supplies for our stay.
When we werenât exploring the Cape, our time at the cottage was spent on the deck. The view of White Pond was amazing. Unfortunately, the cleanliness and condition of the rental was disappointing. I took some pics if the owner needs details .
This property was great. Itâs right on the pond. The pond was clean and great for my kids that are 6 and under. Small beach for them to play on and shallow enough for them to play in the water. It didnât get deep until you went really far in. They also had a kayak which was nice for morning and afternoon kayaking around the pond. Itâs very close to shops and restaurants in Chatham. We would stay again.
The cottage on the lake is just amazing. Listen to the birds and the breeze while enjoying the view right from the deck. Cottage was well stocked with everything we needed and the beach and lake were perfect for swimming and kayaking. I brought my own kayak with me. I did learn that the grassy "ramp" down to the beach and lake next to the cottage is closed and there is a farther staircase down, this was not as convenient especially if you brought your own kayak. One thing to note that the seller said they would add to the listing is the insects No See Ums or sand midges are VERY bad this year we didnt know what they were because they cant be seen and we are bitten all over the vites itch for weeks. Wear a lot of bug spray and look up no see ums. All that being said we loved this stay and appreciated the hosts communication and stocking of the cottage.
Small âold schoolâ cottage right on the pond. The location was amazing! We enjoyed meals and sunsets on the deck with beautiful views. Swam in the pond. Bit of a tight squeeze for 4 adults ( myself, husband and 2 young adult kids) but we made it work! Would love to return some day.
Excellent location with a beautiful view of the pond off the large deck. Appreciated that we could rent mid week to mid week. Comfortable for 2 people, but 4 might be tight. Furnishings could use improvement. Host was responsive.
My husband and I spent a wonderful week of vacation in this comfy cottage. There was everything and extra too that we needed. The cottage was clean with a beautiful view of the pond from the deck and located in a very quiet community We will be returning again.
VRBO has recent commercials on television that advertise that VRBO properties are a home, not just somewhere to stay.
This was more like a rental in a college town because the living room carpet was very stained, the outside seat cushions were covered in mildew and the light over the shower was a bare bulb. We had to purchase batteries for the television remote and several lamps did not work.
The mattress did not have a mattress pad, and the mattress was also very stained. No Bueno.
The place did smell very clean upon arrival and the kitchen and bathroom were very clean. That was great.
The check out is 10 am, but the cleaning person arrived that morning at 8:37, my husband was in the shower.
No snacks, no drinks, no Bueno. The places where we stayed before and after Chatham supplied lots of niceties for our stay. They were homes away from home.
The location is perfect, right on the lake and close to everything in Cape Cod. The place just needs some deep cleaning.
Perfect location right off main st. Super private and serene. Our cottage was the only one with the view of white pond. Late september we felt we were the only ones there, so quiet and peaceful. Very happy with our stay.
My husband, 20-tear old daughter and I are just back from our wonderful stay at this cottage. We enjoyed the huge, private deck overlooking the pond and spent hours on it and swimming in the water. We also enjoyed the kayak! The small beach is immediately below, couldnât be more convenient. The home is well positioned for easy access to all interesting Outer Cape sites and beaches. And, you can walk easily to the Chatham Macâs. Minor issue was the air conditioning. It is only in one bedroom, so those sleeping in the second room could be uncomfortable (Fan is provided, but on very warm nights, itâs not enough on a warm, humid night). Cross ventilation with windows open, on cool nights, work well. Great place to stay. We would certainly return if we come back to Chatham area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Chatham!, The cottage was perfect for our needs. Itâs comfortable and has such an amazing view of the pond. We definitely would recommend it.
Best part of the cottage was the location overlooking White Pond. Great sunset each evening. Cottage is perfect for a small family or group, clean, and well-appointed.
This was the perfect place to get away and just be quiet homebodies with occasional trips to local beaches, biking or fabulous walks. The double kayak was a bonus, but the deck and view over the lake alone are worth coming back for. Everything we hoped for and more after three and a half months of being at home.
We had a lovely stay at this picturesque cottage. It started the moment we turned off of the busy main street and slowed down to drive into the quiet and shady colony. People at the other cottages waved or nodded hello, but mostly everyone relaxed at their own cottage or down at the pond.
The deck is the where we spent the most time - from morning coffee to evening drinks. There is plenty to do, or plenty of time to just sit on the deck and enjoy the view! The pine trees provide shade and bird watching. We swam in the pond, and also went to nearby beaches. There is a great fish market that we walked to. Chatham center with shops is a short drive.
Our stay was like our childhood cape cod vacations - no TV (except red sox games) and no internet. This was time for reading and talking and relaxing. This gently-worn cottage requires that you bring all your own linens and towels, which is perfectly fine for us. We did not want a hotel, and we felt at home here. Thank you Meredith for sharing it!
Wonderful back deck and cozy cottage with all the amenities you need
My husband and I booked this cottage because of the back deck with a view to White Pond. We were very pleased. My husband got up most mornings, made coffee, and hung out on the deck for a couple of hours, just "chillin'", which he doesn't do in regular life! The pond is down a somewhat steep slope (a concern for those with ambulatory issues) and leads to a shared beach; there are a lot of trees to obscure the view of people/chairs, etc., and we never found the noise from the various people who showed up to swim/fish/kayak intrusive. No motorized equipment is allowed on the pond, which was heavenly, because it was often quiet and serene when we were outside enjoying the deck.
Two big sliding doors off both the master bedroom and living room onto the deck were delightful when open, letting in a cool breeze that circulated throughout the house. There is a large standing fan in the living room which we used a couple times when the weather got a bit hot/humid. Low 80's and humid on a few days, not horrific; the fan conveniently provided moving air which made it seem less close.
Bathroom is small but not cramped. Best water pressure I've ever encountered -- it might blow you out of the shower! We appreciated the entire cottage was very clean when we got there. Master bedroom has a Queen bed and dresser and small closet w/ plastic hangars. Also has an A/C, which we used because that room tends to get a little stuffy. We didn't leave the sliding door open (w/ the screen closed) because of security fears. Probably could have, but I was uncomfortable sleeping with it open so we used the A/C instead.
Cottage is decorated in blues, some sea greens, with red accents. Very pretty and well-appointed.
We swam every evening after coming back from various excursions (use TripAdvisor for a list of "What to do in Cape Cod"). Refreshing water, not too cold.
A small downside is no grilling allowed on the deck; you must bring your own grill and take it to the shared beach area. We never did and in our 2 weeks there didn't see anyone else grilling in the approved area. The food in the area (seafood) was so good we ate out most of the time. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking, tho. Nice breakfast bar with 4 chairs. A good-sized, well stocked ShopRite is within :15 of the cottage; the prices are what we are used to in NJ, so no worries about groceries.
Lovely location - beautiful view, comfortable cottage. A real winner!
